Indeed. Those credit card bills are going to be problematic now...

The O-Line's been pretty poor for a while though, hasn't it? I think it's fair to place blame on a head coach if the same failures occur year in and year out.

I am in a bind with my Bears. One, it's quite upsetting that for the second year in a row the Bears have gotten off to a good start only to get injured and blow it down the stretch. Second, we have two games left against two teams that we should beat, the Lions and the Cardinals. If we win those games and the Vikings lose to either the Texans or the Packers (which will probably happen unless Peterson activates Jesus mode) and the Giants lose to the Ravens or whoever their other game is against, the Bears will get the last playoff spot. There's at least a good chance this will happen. Which means they'll go to either Lambeau or Candlestick and lose in the first round. I mean, let's be honest, the Bears aren't going anywhere. I don't want to lose to the Packers again. I still haven't recovered from the 2010 NFC Championship game. Part of me would much rather send the Giants to Lambeau and let them do what they always do in Lambeau. But I can't make myself root against the Bears. Even when I know it's an exercise in futility. It's an upsetting situation that will definitely end in heartbreak.

Also I'm pulling for a 49ers - Broncos Super Bowl.

I've been hearing similar talk from other Bears fans. Tell me, do you also think Lovie Smith's time in Chicago should be over?

They've actually had a lot of turnover in their roster, similar to how the Colts this year are actually a very different team than last year's beyond just adding Andrew Luck. Just compare their 2012 roster to their 2010 roster to see what I mean. I'm guessing that key members of the coaching staff/front office also got poached by other teams, too.

While you guys are off buying game cases, I spent my "hard-earned" coins on Twinbee. Looking forward to giving it a go. Almost got Mario Party 2 as well, but I could probably dig up Mario Party 9 or Wii Party for fairly cheap the next time I want to try a party game.

Paying a guy high seven-figures to warm the bench rubs a lot of folks wrong, especially when it's their seven-figures going down the drain.

That said, doubling-down on a bad investment is a stupid idea in and of itself.

157
I can believe that. Although in the case of Sanchez in particular I'm not sure they'll find any takers, at least not if they don't agree to eat most of the albatross they made for themselves. What's he guaranteed next season, eight million?

Staying on topic, can anyone name the last time the backup quarterback was never actually the backup quarterback? Also on point, why exactly did the Jets trade for Tebow?

With the world ending in only three days (thanks for nothing, Mayans), I propose we all join together and see humanity off in grand style by replaying the most thematically appropriate game we can, Majora's Mask.

Yes, yes, I know RFN's pretending they're going to do a retroactive on this title soon, but we'll all be dead before then so that doesn't do anyone but Guillaume any good.

Vita: living proof that a rising tide lifts all boats!

162
I didn't get ("get" might be more appropriate) to watch last night's game, but is it true that the commentators were completely ripping the Jets post-game? It also sounded like the Sanchize was doing his damndest to screw everything up!

New Beginning is threatening to overtake 64 as my favorite in the series. They've done a great job of putting in enough new goals, that take just enough effort to achieve, while giving you just enough time in the day to accomplish most-but-not-all of what you want to do, to keep the game going.

The beginning was a  bit too slow for my taste, but I can see it being a big boon for newbies. Really recommend picking it up, dkopman1.

I really hope 'Colors 3D' ends up on the list (even though that North American spelling sickens me

It is strictly American spelling, not North American.
We Canadians spell "colour" the proper way.

Can't speak for the Mexicans...

¡Es "color"!

I'd say there's a chance the Broncos just lie down for that game, but they're probably going to try to get the #2 seed, so there's little chance of that.

166
Holy cheese-whiz I did not realize it was that much.

So I got burned by not hoarding enough honeycombs in Spring. Are there any other materials I'll need for the town's restoration that are purely seasonal?

So in light of the probability that the Browns' pick is going to be outside the Top Ten, are you pleased or saddened insanolord?

A Disaster retroactive could be pretty damn fun.

That was a terrible decision. Those players were trying to take out (and injure) other players for money, and they deserve to be punished. The original punishments were justified, but the players union always supports the players no matter what (you could have a player brutally attack an innocent fan and the players union would still appeal a suspension or fine).

I agree. I'll add that the hypocrisy of them whining that the league doesn't care about player safety becomes especially laughable when they go and do something like this. I wonder, don't they realize that they also represent the people who are on the receiving end of said bounties?

I'm failing to see the difference. Consoles are just PCs that have been streamlined to make playing games easier; no need to worry about individual specs, etc. If Ouya and Steambox run on similar principles, what does it matter if the games they play could also be played on a normal PC? In fact, don't Ouya games have to be tailor made for the system, a la home consoles?

Isn't Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate just the console version of the 3DS game, with added online?

Actually the 3DS version has online as well.  One of the selling points has even been that the Wii U players can play online with 3DS players so there's no split in the online fanbase.
The 3DS version never had and will never get online. You can link up your 3DS game with your Wii U game, but the 3DS doesn't have online play.

The plushie was the one thing arguing against going digital, but for this type of game I really, really like having it ready on the system at all times.

As for getting both plushies, somebody on eBay has got to be hawking at least one of the plushies, no?

173
So now that the game came out digitally, I took the plunge and bought Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. Don't regret it one bit, even if the opening could be a bit quicker. Anyone else here pick up or going to pick up the game? I've plunged an unhealthy number of hours into it already, but I'm curious to test out the multiplayer mode at some point.

174
I'm sad that there's no discussion in this thread anymore. :(

Steam box and Ouya are not consoles, they are gimped PCs. Ouya will at best be very niche.

Not to be ironic here or anything, but aren't consoles also basically gimped PCs?
