Actually there are 2 or 3 animations that you can select for your player in which they do exactly that.  There's also 2 where they rip the head off the putter, one with their teeth and one with their hand.   :o

I hope if I ever connect I can still get my name.  Of course I already have it as an EA.com persona, so I would assume I can just log in with the account I already have... if I could ever connect...  :'(

Still waiting on EA support e-mail to get back to me...

Would love to play if the darn thing would connect.  Not seeing any other complaints on gamefaqs or easports websites though, so it seems like it's just me.  But why would the in-game online store work and not the other online features?

Anyway, I had a friend over to play disc golf and he had similar results to mine, but more drastic.  He bogeyed the first 5-6 holes, but then on the back shot 6 under.  Seems like it gets pretty easy to birdie once you get the hang of it.

And I've just been playing tournament challenges.  I like the short bursts of a few holes here and there, moreso than the long tournaments I think.  I did set my PGA season to only play 2 round tournaments.  It said there was no way to change that, which seems a little odd.  But I figure I'd rather play more courses and get through a few more seasons and less rounds would help.

And yeah, I can connect to the in-game Online Store, to buy new costumes.  But I can't connect in the main menu Online button to actually play.

How convenient... I could give them money, but I can't play online.

Yeah I took mine out and am leaving it out.

Still no dice on internet.  Did a Test connection and Wii System Update (which didn't update), so it seems the Wii is connected fine.  Just no dice with the EA Servers in game..  >:(

On the Wii?  I just get nothing when I click Online except "you have lost connection to EA servers"

I can't get mine to connect.

There's some thing in the instructions about registering at EA.com, but they don't even have the game in the game registration list yet.   ???

I just keep failing to connect to EA servers...

I do have an EA.com account from something... but not sure if there is someway to link that to my Wii or what?  Seems like this should be real easy, I click Online button and something happens... but it's not.  :'(

Yeah there was definitely left/right banking.   I didn't have any serious obstacles where I was tested, but I could see you using it to bank around a tree you get to close to or something.

And whee, just got my first trophy ball during one of the challenges.  I chipped in, got Flag Seeker.   ;D

You try the frolf mode yet?

Yes, just finished my first round, also on Banff Springs.  Double bogey and bogey to start my first two holes.  Ended up 2 over on the front, so mostly that first hole.  Shot 6 under on the back, so 4 under for the round.

It's interesting... I think I only missed ONE shot with the putter disc.  So the challenge is really getting within 20 yards as quickly as possible.

Seems a bit annoying, in that I will throw the 150 yard disc 90%, but it will go 125 yards.  125/150 = 83%   ???  ???  ???

I think my best throw the whole time was a 99%, which went 143 yards, which is only 95%.

Perhaps it's my angle of release, tilted too high, too low, something?  Can't quite figure it out, but I also can't remember the last time I threw a real frisbee around.  ;D

Either way, it's fun.  I can still see it being a good party game, a la Wii Sports bowling.

Impressions?

First off I haven't had a Tiger game since 07, on Wii.  As soon as I started up I got a sponsor bonus for being a previous customer, since the save is on my Wii.  8)

So I got the Motion Plus, of course.  Ran through the standard difficulty tutorial.  First couple shots were no problem.  Then you have to naturally draw/fade, twisting your wrists.  First one I shanked way left into the water.  No problem after that, adjusted aim a little better.  Only other shot I missed was the putt.  Hit it a little too soft.  With regular swings I tend to look down in my normal golf stance, and not at the screen while swinging.  With putts, I had to work to keep my head on the screen, looking at the putting distance %.  Can't just do it on feel alone yet.

So I hit quick play, 18 holes at Banff Springs (par 71), as Tiger.  Of course playing as Tiger is hardly fair.  I reached all the par 5s in two.  Speaking of that, there's a nice pulse-pounding moment when you're going for the green.  Wiimote shaking in your hands, it's fun.

So I bogeyed two holes.  Both times were 3 putts, where I just barely got on the green, didn't get my long putt within 8 feet, and missed the medium putts for par.  The putting meter is clearly labeled, the putt preview thing is accurate, etc... I just couldn't quite get the feel.  Sometimes I would take it back too far, and try to soften through the swing, which ended up being too soft.  I later remembered that letting go of B cancels swing, so that helped me start getting my distances right.

I still can't quite get the feel of drives, mostly hitting between 80-90%.  I think I rush my swing, and don't take a complete backswing, which is a real-life golf problem for me... I don't get the distance some of my friends do.  So at least it's consistent.   I did have some luck with pausing at the top of my backswing and then following through.

Anyway, my putting all came together at the end of the round, and I finished with 3 birdies on 15-17, and an eagle on the 18th for a 29 on the back, and a 62 overall.

Feels very good so far.  I expect more challenge as my created self that can't quite hit as far as Tiger.  But the swinging and putting feel great.  No problems like the old game of accidental swings, or mishits.  And much better at gauging my distance than in Wii Sports or previous Tiger.  Some of those 50-70% shots I did on chips I got within 10% of what I was aiming for, and had reasonable putts to try.

So very fun first round.  Now I can't decide if I want to create-a-golfer or try disc golf next...  ???

Yeah that was entertaining.  Click through to the other shots, very nice.

And apparently my Gamestop is not one of the lucky ones to get the games today.  Tempted to go to Wal-Mart at midnight, but I guess I can wait until tomorrow.

I got a chance to try out the Dueling game in Wii Sports Resort, which places two characters atop a platform in the middle of a pool.  The aim is to knock your opponent off of the platform and into the water below before they do it to you.  Fear not for your Mii though as each one is equipped with protective headgear!

So it's American Gladiators Assault?

LOL, it could be New Play Control! Super Mario Sunshine! I know some people were wanting a remake/sequel of that with Wii functionality.

That's an evil thought.  Evil, I tell you!  Cruel in unimaginable ways.  I'm glad you don't work for Nintendo.  :o

Ah fighting in space and on foot.  There's a nifty Half-Life 2 mod called Eternal Silence that does that and is a blast.
