I could do Fire Emblem, as that has been requested in the past. I always intended to host a second World Ends With You mafia, but I'll save that for the fall when the Switch edition drops I think.

I actually like that idea. Sure, it's silly, but no sillier than a lot of the other games we've played over the years.

Fair enough. I'll stick with that then. I do need help picking games/roles for the townies. I have some good ones for the mafia, but selecting unported games for roles is tricky. Maybe go for notoriety or popularity? Final Fantasy 7 remake would be a good candidate. Maybe Metal Gear or Monster Hunter World?

Synopsis
Players in this game will sign up as a game they would love to see ported to the Switch. All titles are welcome regardless of the legal or technical viability. Dream big! Role play as the personality you think the game exudes, or role play as a hardcore fan of that game, or as the game’s developer!

Because of the high demand for games to be ported, Panic Button has announced a drawing for games to be selected. The games lined up here are waiting to get a ticket and hear who will be selected. Some games are more desperate to be ported than others, and a few may resort to...unsavory tactics to ensure they are selected.

There are also premier Nintendo titles who do not want to share the limelight with these third-party titles. They have done their best to keep the 3rd parties away, but the runaway success of the Switch is making it more and more difficult to keep them at bay.

Yeah, yeah, I know...I'm typing something up now. But I'm still wrestling with theme ideas.

Originally I was going to go a bit meta, and make it a mafia game about Switch ports. Everyone could pick a game they wanted to see come to the Switch as the townies, and the goal was to survive until the end to be selected by panic button to get ported. The mafia would be the Nintendo 1st party games who don't want to share the spotlight with quality 3rd party content. Then the killer would be limited run games, who picked random un-ported games to bring to switch, but in a limited fashion with no pre-orders or reprints.

But then I started feeling it was a little too silly. So now I'm stumped on where to go from here.

Maybe Dixie and Tails are coming and one will be an echo fighter of the other, since they both have appendages that twirl around for floating/flying purposes.

1355
I'm happy to see new games coming, but I am a bit dismayed if this is the next thing Panic Button is working on. I know they won't exclusively port Bethesda titles, but I was hoping for a Fallout port.

Who likes Smash Bros. character inclusion rumor speculation?

Today's rumor is brought to us by Inverse.com via a 4Chan Leak so you know it's legit. Although, the Smash 4 leaker was pretty spot on for awhile until Chrom turned out to be replaced by Lucina and just part of a Final Smash attack and the Chorus Kid(s) fighter never amounted to anything.

Anyways, for those to lazy to click the link to read the article, here's the 4Chan post itself:

Quote from: clearly Sakurai himself posting on 4Chan to troll us all

OK Kiddies, see if you can figure this one out.

July: The characters “King” and “Ponytail” will be revealed in a mini direct

August: The character “Old Man” will be revealed at years EVO

September: The character “Archer” will be revealed in a direct of some kind

October: The Characters “Warrior” & “Secretary” will be revealed in a Smash Ultimate focused Direct.

November: The character “Mech” will be revealed in a surprise character announcement

The other characters: The Characters “Rhythm” “Folklore” “Doll” and “Prime Ribs” won’t get reveal trailers until post release.

Agree this is probably false, but a fun chance for some guided theory crafting. I'll try to guess some that have not been mentioned yet.

King = King of Red Lions/King Rhoam, his final smash could be turning into boat form and flooding the competition before bombing them to oblivion.

Ponytail = Shantae

Old Man = Old Man from Legend of Zelda or Cranky Kong. I would love Cranky Kong because he could use that cane-pogo move similar to Scrooge from the Ducktales game.

Archer = Another Zelda in the style of BotW. I think there is a reason they altered the main Zelda to look like her form in the last handheld title. Maybe give her some powers to control Sheika tech via the Sheika Slate

Warrior = Eldegard, the new female character from Fire Emblem Three Houses. She wields an axe, allowing her to diversify the weapon-wielding characters in the game, and better justify yet another FE character in the roster.

Secretary = I got nothing, so I'll join the AC bandwagon, though she should summon other animals as her attacks instead of fighting directly.

Mech = Ray 01 from Custom Robo, or more realistically, a primary mech from Daemon x Machina; can't think of anything different.

Rhythm = Elite Beat Agents, coinciding with a new game for that series on Switch

Folklore = I would guess a Final Fantasy character because Fantasy=Folklore, but we already have Cloud. I'll got with Dillon since he could have a unique moveset and a Western is another type of folklore. Okay, that's a stretch, so I'll go with Okami since it is directly influenced by Japanese folklore.

Doll = Again, I'm out of different ideas, so count me in the Geno camp.

Prime Ribs = Monster Hunter Prowler Cat character since a signature move of those games is eating a large prime rib to boost stamina.

I have a Wii Classic Controller and the Pro version in a drawer, I should break those out and try them. I imagine the pro one would be better for longer gaming sessions of the Minis.

I think I'm bit with the Switch Kickstarter bug. I'm now backing two different Switch products. The Flip Grip for playing arcade games in the vertical display. I'm excited to try Pacman, Donkey Kong, and Ikaruga with it. Would be cool if The World Ends With You had a vertical mode to recreate the DS dual-screen style, but I highly doubt that would happen.

Now I backed GENKI, a wireless Bluetooth add-on that will allow up to two players to sync their Bluetooth headphones with very low latency. Sounds like they know what they are doing and already have working prototypes with all the functionality as headphones. They launched the kick-starter the day news broke of native voice chat support with Fortnite. They are working out the details and have three viable options they are exploring. The style is also slick as the sync buttons are colored like the different Joy Con colors (and you can pick customer colors as a Kickstarter exclusive!).

Both are prototyped and functional, and they are both shipping this October and are fully backed, so I'm pretty confident these will pan out well.

Since I have both minis and extension cords, I'm not worrying about getting a second NES controller. I'll just use a SNES one. It has better ergonomics anyways.

I'm sorry, I've been lazy since I cleared the school hurdle. No excuse, just living up my ability to be lazy. Also, I decided I did not like my theme and am reconsidering. I'll set a deadline of Sunday to post a new theme and signups.

Man, wish I held out on buying digital. Would have rather gotten this. Ah well, I bought Namco Museum exclusively for Pacman Vs, so guess I'm not losing much.

1361
Either that or they are reviving Crystal Chronicles...I just want an upgrade/remake to the original Crystal Chronicles

Was listening to a recent IGN Voicechat episode and they pointed out that Furukawa will be the first Nintendo president to have grown up with Nintendo games in his childhood. Could be the closest thing to "one of us" getting in control of Nintendo, so hopefully this means even better things in the future.

He is also fluent in English, so we will hopefully be hearing from him more directly in the near future.

I don't mind Luke's fighting style. Fits in with the "I really don't want to do this" mentality he has about the whole fighting/hero thing.

2 episodes in and it is slow, but I remember S1 also starting slow, and the show was always a bit more of a slow ride and I didn't mind it, felt it fit the content. But nothing tops the mid S1 scene where Mariah kills Cottonmouth. I freaked at that.

Agree that Mariah isn't that imposing anymore. Seems a bit more emotionally unstable and even vulnerable, and Shade's behavior regarding her and irrationally "defending her honor" just doesn't add up.

There is an odd disconnect in all of the Marvel TV content, and I agree that Feige needs to get control of the TV, or at least get someone on the TV helm who is in line with him and directly under him. I'm not sure Feige could balance both well enough without help, but give him an executive veto/vote in the process going forward.

Considering how Disney will pull content from Netflix in 2019, I wonder if there will be an impending reorg announcement related to this. Really bummed we aren't getting a Defenders S2 anytime soon. There wasn't enough of it the first time around.

I was hunting for pink/green joy cons at Walmart as they had a flash sale offering them for $24. Didn't find any, but I did find two lowly NES Classics at my home Walmart. It was early morning and no one could find the person with the key for the case. While waiting a mom with three kids showed up and looked then left, got the manager I was waiting for that had been paged twice already...and we each got one. Glad there were two left, I cracked a joke about it with her, but just I knew there would have been a heated discussion if there was only one.

Just a quick update. Planning my grad party and wrapping up my old role before transitioning to my new position in engineering is taking a lot more of me than I expected. Still shooting for July, but I'll wait a bit later. I'll get signups after my last day tomorrow (today). I'm taking Tuesday off before starting the new role Wednesday, so I expect to get something up in the next two days.

I am convinced anyone who hates Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom just hates fun movies. It was a blast. Great follow up to the last film. I was cheering at parts. Final battle was great, I loved the settings, and while some people knocked the "earth first" themes, I never felt they hammered you over the head with it. It was used as a tool in the story telling, unlike some films where the environmental or other message were the point of the film.

Felt a bit of a Resident Evil vibe thanks to the creepy old mansion, and turns out the director has done horror films in the past. There were several good scare points and I genuinely feared people (outside of Owen/Claire) could have died at any number of times. Ever since the mess that was JP3 I have gone into these films just rooting for the Raptors/Rexy to kill people. Not been disappointed in the JW films so far.

For those unaware, the T-Rex in the Jurassic World films is the original one from Jurassic Park. You can tell by the scarring on her face and back from her fight with the raptors.

Mosasaurus (sp?) needed more time, but she (he? it?) at least got one awesome scene.

The ending was a little odd. Obviously they left it open for further sequels, but it kinda makes me wonder where they go from here? Blue/Rexy/Dinos loose in NorCal, will they get caught and placed in a zoo? Send them to site B?

1368
I went ahead and backed it as well. Its now almost $20k over the threshold. If nothing else it could be used as a grip for my second pair of joy cons when playing with friends. An official grip is $20, so this is cheaper with an added perk.

1369
I originally typed Konkey Kong, but created a different typo when I corrected it. Still funny, but sad I missed it on the correction.

Irregular this!

There is a kick-starter for a vertical Switch grip going on right now. Only costs $12 and they have already prototyped, tested and is ready for manufacture, so we can expect the finished product this Fall. Might be the first kickstarter I back.

Would be a great way to play Doonkey Kong and Ikaruga in their original form.

1372
I suspected this might happen. I also think Comcast's hand is played because of the big deal made in their attempts to raise the capital necessary for their initial bid. With Disney so quickly and firmly upping the ante and Fox's obvious lack on interest in Comcast it appears to be pretty much in the bag for Disney.

Hopefully they can start integrating some of Marvel's lost children into the MCU after 2019. I'm sure they have the plans to do it in place.

Bought the Amazon Basics Switch Case for $3.91 as a bundle add-on. Its pretty solid build and the inside fits the switch perfectly. No wiggle room, and the sleeve w/ pockets for extra games is very nice. Glad I picked this up.

1374
Did ANY 3DS games get shown at E3? I'm wondering if they were delayed because they are making Switch ports as well. We could be seeing a return to the old days when games released on all of Nintendo's systems. Remember when games like Tetris 2 was on NES and Gameboy? There were also some titles that released on SNES, NES, and Gameboy during the transition period if I recall (Warios Woods).

I would be happy to see that and it could be a nice compromise to satisfy both 3DS and Switch fans.
