Nintendo Gaming / Graphics of GBA
« on: March 06, 2003, 04:49:59 PM »
so i noticed some games on the GBA are quite impressive now compared to what they used to be,  i saw some game called kong  that looked rather boring but the graphics were quite well put together, as well as tony hawk skaters camera angle is quite impressive.
i know there are  a ton of side scrolling games with minimal graphics as well but i am curious which games push the limits of the GBA  graphically at least?

the GBA and GB color are completely different, the color is way easier to see the screen , or at least for me it was, still hard but easier then the GBA.  Cryptic, every single post here has suggested you spend the extra 30 something bucks and get the sp if you have no GBA yet that is the better option more then likely , but to be sure, wait till it comes out and go try them out at gamestop  or eb side by side. then you will know for sure.

Nintendo Gaming / Europe GBA SP Ad
« on: March 06, 2003, 04:36:51 PM »
this ad is wonderful, had me laughing my ass off.

there are some great other ads that are just absolutely beautiful for the sp as well that are for all ages. i think it is great Nintendo is going after all ages on this campaign, and i have heard this ad is in maxium mag.

Hey, just thought I'd say thanks for a fun game on the cube.

Sure you have heard this before but the 1st time I got the insanity of Gamecube error screen I about beat my cube to death, seems you timed it just right . by the time I stood up to wack the cube the effect was over and I was tripping  on what just happed, the mute one got me as well.

also  being  what i do for a living for the past 10 years and prior just for fun is art i have to give you props on some of the design aspects as well, should be interesting to see how refined graphics become on the next release now that your team has had time to get comfy with the cube.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda game after windwaker
« on: March 05, 2003, 06:04:44 AM »
From a purely financial business point of view,  if Nintendo was to go  with early spaceworld type graphics it  would make them a fortune especially if they already had a demo for e3.

Reason is, wind they 1st showed the demo everyone fell in love, then we saw C el link, so many were shocked and angry, then we adjusted and learned to love cartoon link , especially after seeing video of him in motion. This cause a huge stir across the internet when it happened, it would cause an even bigger one if  they went back to the demo footage style for  the next game in the series.

Not  sure about all of you but I'd pick up both versions for sure, and many many others would pick up the latter of the two for sure.

Would be a cheap and very effective marketing plan on Nintendo's part to do it the way they did, if the 1st Zelda release was what we saw at spaceworld then the buzz would be good but not as blown out of proportion as it is now about windwaker. Free advertising for Nintendo, they seem to have a great way to pull things like that off.

not many, Alice is on mac but i havn;t played  it yet.

this is why i like the fact that x-box is basically a cheap pc and gets all kinds of pc ports.

that and i prefer  playing with a controller then a keyboard.

anyone played 1942? is it as fun as it looks?

any idea if it will ever make it to a console?

i got stuck at that same spot for a minute too.

there is a bomb up top by that sign,  you can drop it down  a level and open that door that  is still shut below.

i am now stuck as adult link in the fire temple, i have done all but still yet can find the damn boss key....

anyone know where it is>?

last thing i did  brought me back to where i knocked the piller down with the hammer to the floor way below and it made a brown block appear  by a ledge were i had already been inside.
i even used the blue blocks and jumped over the fire to be stuck inbetween flame areas and use the other blue block to get back over.

any help?

i saw some footage from this game yesterday and it looked great, so much to do and the flying parts looked wonderful. so today i go to pick it up and it is windows only, no mac version or at least were i looked for it there was not one.

anyone know if this "game of the year" has a mac version?
seems silly a game that is reconized by so many would not  be for both platforms when such lesser games are.

thanx

he also said if he does an adult link again it would not feel right to him with cel shaded graphics so if this darker version has an adult link then it most likely will mean  spaceworld graphics if not even better.

Nintendo Gaming / Dont got Sound, what they say at roundtable?
« on: March 01, 2003, 05:55:27 PM »
Listening to it now and  the best I have heard so far is that  there is defiantly a chance that  realistic Zelda could very well still be possible.  they keep  pushing wind waker which is expected since it is due out in a few weeks, but they say depending on if the next zelda has adult link or not. they said they can not see adult link done in toon shading.

i'm still early in the listening though.

Not to mention that poor little girl in Europe who if she gets hit by rain , takes a a bath or drinks a glass of "water" she breaks out and  has to be hospitalized...

Even on earth water can make some extremely sick if not fatal.

Seems your forgetting it is a movie and those who have an imagination will fill in the gaps and create more and those who do not will  be stumped and say no way, it would never happen.

Up to you if you want enjoyment and entertainment or if your just not at that stage of your life yet. Having a family and kids does change ones perspective as well.
