Nintendo Gaming / WW. Japanese version VS. The U.S. version ?
« on: April 13, 2003, 09:44:00 AM »
I recall reading that in the  U.S. version something was removed from the game in a part that makes the game very tedious.
I am very curious as to what that part was exactly. Anyone here who as beaten both versions  recall a difference in what this change  was? Were there 18 pieces of the triforce instead of 8? Ha ha...

Also what  do you think of the change, was it needed or should it have stayed in as is?

Nintendo Gaming / 8 pieces of hell (ww spoilers)
« on: April 13, 2003, 09:18:12 AM »
I have been going around finding triforce maps and collecting them and the pieces of the triforce and it is taking what seems forever.  Either that or it's become so repetitive that I am just bored. I find myself  having to force myself to turn the game back on to get the last 2 pieces now so I can return to the  tower of the gods. This so far has been the only part of the game that has lost my interest and  up until this point I was  glued to the screen.

Someone please tell me that  it becomes fun again real soon.

god I  know this post sounded negative but I still think the game is overall just wonderful. I just wish it was maybe 3 pieces instead of 8. Whoever said this game was short must be smoking crack or not  yet even put flowers at there cabana . lol

« on: April 12, 2003, 08:47:29 PM »

I might be picking it up as a second system for  about free so thought I'd see what was  out for it just incase.

Hopefully there is a site  as informitive as this one but for that system.
Thanx in advance.

Nintendo Gaming / Returning a new game?
« on: April 05, 2003, 02:57:39 PM »
so  if you come home open a game up play it and it sucks. I mean  can not hold you to it for even 15 minutes  and even at that has no replay value then is it  even an option to pack it up and return it or once you break that case open are you royally screwed and stuck with a waste of cash?

There must be some catch to this? A return policy   of sorts that is standard to some degree from stor to store...?

Nintendo Gaming / Monster Jam....
« on: April 05, 2003, 10:07:23 AM »
ok my son got this game today and I played for about 15 minutes and wished to hell I could rewarp it and return  it for something else. the gameplay ends up just doing donuts over and over and over to try and git the AI from behind. I  think the Nintendo 64 version  of  the monster truck game was better and that one was pretty weak itself. I was really hoping that this generation they would get  it down  for what people wanted out of a monster truck game. Car crushing mudding challenges, winning events and saving cash to customize your truck to surpass your compitition. hell some inbreed white trash audiance and pit girls would be great as well.

My son who is 5 seems to enjoy playing it so far as long as he is spider man.

I'm sure I'll try it some more but damn I am so  bummed.

Nintendo Gaming / Spliner Cell Cubed?
« on: April 04, 2003, 12:57:34 PM »
I know this is coming soon and I have been looking forward to it. I've always been a fan of stealth missions and sniper rifles and from what I have read and seen this falls right into that category. I could have sworn it was due out on April 4th but I think it's turning out that date was wrong. Is anyone else anxiously awaiting this release and  please say it's due out any day now.

Those who own both a cube and x-box are you planning on getting this version as well  if so why?

thanx

Nintendo Gaming / That dang spider in Metroid fusion.
« on: April 04, 2003, 09:24:14 AM »
this thing sex.  I try dodging and avoiding till he opens his jaws and then blast him but every time he  grabs me and  go ups and pile drives me to the ground, two of those and I'm pretty much dead having to start over, I think the most I have hit him is 2 also. There must be a trick to beating him??

If so please share the wealth...

Nintendo Gaming / floppy sp lid?
« on: April 04, 2003, 08:26:00 AM »
my sp was perfect when I got it and less then  a week  later the lid now opens  and has playin it  when in the open position. I am curious if this is something happening to others or  should I exchange this before it worsens. I would hate for it to  become so floppy it is hard to play, right now it has about a 1/2 inch play each way so it does  move around a bit if you move the sp around while you play.

also curious if the cause could be opening past the natraul spot or  not opening it far enough  and playing with it in more of a 90 degree angle?

Is this something I should exchange or  is this normal for 1-2 weeks time owning one?

Thanx for all input.

Nintendo Gaming / My 1st handheld since the GB Color...
« on: March 25, 2003, 07:58:57 PM »
Today I found some GBA SP in at toys R us, they got their second shipment already but only had the cobalt. I originally was going to get a platinum but  said oh well and got the cobalt.

Now I gotta say I have played a regular GBA before and it did nothing for me.  The lighting  was horrid the screen was dark and  games like metroid lost everything. So I never got one. Today I picked up , The GBA SP, A link cable to my game cube, Metroid fusion, and Advance wars.

It  has been a fun day playing , linking the GBA SP up to the cube with Zelda was a blast, my son and I  could play together making the game even more memorable for the both of us then it was already.

Tonight I  had some time to play  some fusion and then even more of the advance wars.

While playing fusion I turned the light off and  remembered exactly why I had never bought a GBA before now. IT SUCKS!  My plan was to buy this and my 5 year old son a used GBA, but  there is just no way I can make him play  in that kind of eye strain, that would be just cruel after seeing the actual difference 1st hand.   So I plan to now give the  cobalt one to him when  I get the platinum myself.  This thing is tiny, I am shocked at how small it really is. Especially folded up.

All I can say is   if you    don't have one, spend the cash, throw your old game boy in the trash, sell it , do something, let your eyes live again. Now I  can only imagine what new life the GBP will bring to these games!!

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Screens *?Spoilers maybe?*
« on: March 23, 2003, 10:43:35 AM »
so back on the old forums there was a link to a European site, maybe German,I   n not recall where exactly but it had screens of the new Zelda game, and some of those screens had images of Zelda, a king and Gannondorf as well. I misplaced the link and am hoping someone here might be from the old forum and still have the link to that site.

Thank you.

Nintendo Gaming / Sold out in my area how bout yours?
« on: March 22, 2003, 04:53:33 PM »
well tonight I loaded in the car with my son  with some old cube games  an old gameboy color and some old games I grew tired of  for it. We went to every store within the local radius that sold games. Starting with EB, then Gamestop, Then Games for less, then Toys R Us, then Target, and even made a call to frys. The results I got were not the best.
EB and gamestop are sold out, stating it will probably be next month before they get n more in. Toys R us  were out as well and said maybe 1-2 weeks before more are expected. Games for less  had  a couple left, like 3 only and they  were selling them for 129.99 but gave two free games out of 6  or 7 choices, all pretty weak games though to me at least. Frys happened to say they were not selling any till tomorrow but they too are selling it for 129.99 with the choice of two accessories. One is suppssedly the headphone jack, a car charger , a case  and other useless stuff for an extra 30 bux.

hell , I wanted to just pick one up a copy of advanced wars or fortress and maybe fusion and Zelda and go home but guess I'll have to wait  awhile to do that still.

Anyone  suggest  advanced wars over fortress or other way around?  Does fortress have the old version   from Arial where the boats come in and  demolish with cannon balls? Or is that something else?

I got a  good laugh and thought a few  of you might as well.

Zelda of the new age...

Nintendo Gaming / shadow link
« on: March 15, 2003, 06:47:31 PM »
He still is the hardest boss to beat even in master quest, I always go through  fairies like crazy when I fight him, next to him the water temple boss is a joke, hell the end boss is a joke in comparison, lol.

Nintendo Gaming / Graphics of GBA
« on: March 06, 2003, 04:49:59 PM »
so i noticed some games on the GBA are quite impressive now compared to what they used to be,  i saw some game called kong  that looked rather boring but the graphics were quite well put together, as well as tony hawk skaters camera angle is quite impressive.
i know there are  a ton of side scrolling games with minimal graphics as well but i am curious which games push the limits of the GBA  graphically at least?

General Gaming / battlefield 1942
« on: March 04, 2003, 06:30:03 PM »
i saw some footage from this game yesterday and it looked great, so much to do and the flying parts looked wonderful. so today i go to pick it up and it is windows only, no mac version or at least were i looked for it there was not one.

anyone know if this "game of the year" has a mac version?
seems silly a game that is reconized by so many would not  be for both platforms when such lesser games are.

thanx

Nintendo Gaming / Japan, Gamcube / X-box
« on: February 24, 2003, 04:39:21 PM »
i was watching gaming news on G4tv tonight  on a show called pulse.
seems that they are reporting that  the X-box has  actually outsold the gamecube in japan not overall sales but for a  monthly  count. seems that DOA3 volleyball has  actually helped  sales outthere tremendously.

anyway here is the link
http://g4tv.com/html/showinfo.asp?episode_key=609

link to pulse

it does not tell the dates or amounts there but you can check to see if it's there or watch the rerun in a few hours tonight.

i am amazed at how much x-box has had to  sell to catch up so quickly to beat out the cube.
hard to believe, i knew it had pulled ahead in the states but  had no idea about japan. does anyone know the actual figures?

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube console, profit from day one?
« on: February 12, 2003, 11:11:31 PM »
i have read over and over that the cube has made money from the sale of the console from day one while ps2 and x-box both took or are still taking some serious losses on their consoles.

although i have seen this on the old forums numorous times i have yet to see any facts  showng the cubes construction cost and it's intake.

does anyone here know  what those figures are and can it be backed up?
thanx

Nintendo Gaming / Official Zelda Bonus Disk Topic...
« on: February 12, 2003, 09:49:15 AM »
since there are no threads for us to discuss the Zelda bonus disk within the Zelda forum this one is now here to discuss it between each other within the "Zelda" forum.

I know some of you have received the disk and some are still waiting like myself.
The Gamestop where i reserved it is giving out an OOT stratagy guide with the disk which is a nice extra. has anyone else seen other things handed out with the bonus disk besides this?

is there anyone else who has gone in to pick up there disk or the ones who have it was it an online order that you did to receive it early?

(bloodworth, i looked in the zelda forum for a topic to continue this discusion  after you locked the last because you said there were many but every one pertaining to the disk  itself was locked so i hope creating a topic about just the disk itself is not  something you feel needs to be locked, i know you said go to the talk back but it is Zelda and this is the Zelda forum so it made sense that we have a discussion here , if  you lock this then i guess the bonus disk is just not suppossed to be discussed in here and i'll take the hint, hopefully no one will think this is out of line and if so then my apologies prior for recreating a "Zelda" discussion in the "Zelda" forum.)

Nintendo Gaming / Driver 3
« on: February 10, 2003, 09:26:34 PM »
i am sooooo looking forward to this.

Driver 1 was  a blast and 2 was even more fun taking things to the next level with car jacking and curved roads and such, then comes GTA which based a lot of itself off driver. so now driver 3 is going to  be outthis fall and i am overly anxious after seeing some great screen shots and reading an interview about it in EGM. looks like they took the physics engine from stuntman and made it even more realistic. This game has great  potential for a car chase smash ga,me emulating some of hollywoods greatest car chases and even rooftop chases as well in this one.

anyone else  looking forward to this?
