Nintendo Gaming / Game of the Year...when?
« on: February 27, 2003, 07:07:21 PM »
Metroid should take something home tonight. Wasn't nominated for a record number of fields.  (GOTY, Console GOTY, .... I think there was at least three more.) Nintendo should take a few of them home also considering their games were nominated 22 times (I think....) Well is 12:08 now just a few more hours........ (CST)

Nintendo Gaming / EA/Nintendo Sports
« on: February 27, 2003, 06:57:54 PM »
EA has other franchise besides its sports. They own the Sims among others. But from all what I read it does seem they are working on some sports games. But things have a tendancy to branch into other products.

Nintendo Gaming / Mega Man Transmission Thread
« on: February 26, 2003, 03:27:59 AM »
The last I heard of it. The screens looked pretty good. I would really like to see how they fit the customize battle system into a side scroller. We will hear more about this title at E3. I'm looking forward to it.

Nintendo Gaming / Question about Gameboy Player...
« on: February 25, 2003, 04:08:27 PM »
From what I hear you will need two Gamecube units if you want to do it this way. Because the game is made to only accept the unlock data from the controller port and not the high speed port. (Not to mention that it may not be able to run the Gamecube for playing purposes and the player at the same time.)

Nintendo Gaming / IGN reports the next Triforce game

And the third game will more than likely be Star Fox Armada, that is if Namco can get it out first.

Nintendo Gaming / DivX?

And more than likely any Nintendo made game that has FMVs will use it. (Maybe Too Human....)

Other than the blitz they did in New York to get the NES off the ground Nintendo wasn't very into, even back then, in Media advertising. I do remember some of the commercials especially the Zelda commericals (accually that is the only NES game commerical I can recall, I do remember of at least one commercial for the Power Pack (Power Pad+ System) and one for the the orginal set up with ROB.). But even then they didn't really go all out. The only time I remember Nintendo doing any type of mass advertising after the NES is before the launch of the SNES.

Nintendo Gaming / GC online TO wipe the floor with XBOX live...?
« on: February 22, 2003, 08:31:24 PM »
Broadband is an average of $60.00/mo anywhere you go. (For the good connections.) Nintendo does need to make it easy to go online. But then again it was fairly easy to go online with the dreamcast.  Then they need a good balence of content and for that they need the support of the third party. Right now Xbox at least for the near future doesn't have all that many genres to choose from to go online. (That should change.)

I think Nintendo will make a pretty good showing with online. But it will not be all out.

Nintendo Gaming / Miyamoto interview! Heaps of news!
« on: February 21, 2003, 09:04:22 PM »
You know EA is more than sports. They also control Maxis and several other non sports developers. Sports game don't traditionally sell well on the Gamecube unless it has Nintendo's name on it. So it could be a miriad of EA others liscenses Nintendo and EA are teaming up with. (They are currently in control of the Bond liscense.)

Nintendo Gaming / Pokemon on the CUBE?!
« on: February 21, 2003, 04:24:07 AM »
Yes it doesn't have to be an online game. It will more than likely be a RPG that you can unlock some of the other pokemon. (It will more than likely be a expansion maybe with statium like opitions, but that remains to be seen.)

Nintendo Gaming / Why cant they make a decent DBZ game?!?!?
« on: February 21, 2003, 04:10:28 AM »
Accually its a problem that stems from greed. They want to milk a franchise so they throw out a throwen together product. This effects almost all Anime, and Movie based games. Most developers just wants to cash in on the name thinking they can continue to throw out garbage and people will buy it up. And unfotunatly they are right. By and far gaming is a complusive buying market whose consumers doesn't do much research before buying.

Nintendo Gaming / The Cube and Online Games

You have to set up PSO to work with your network. It leaves a save file on your memory card (about 3 blocks) You have to put in an sign on information to get on the internet. You have to, if you didn't go online to get it already. Go on Sega.com and purcase a hunter's liscense. (To help Sega pay for their server up keep. You also have to put in you DNS and IP addresses for the game to work.

TalkBack / Zelda Date Break?
« on: February 21, 2003, 03:58:42 AM »
I almost got clobbered by my sister's best friend. We both had to put more money down on our reserves and went in the same day at different times. We both had to put $5 down. The only difference the new manager was there when she was there and she didn't get the bonus. Because "we can't give that out until tomorrow." I went around close she was gone and a few college age employees were maning the store. They handed it right to me.

This is good news. Though it will not cause me to import. I have a black console. And currently I'm in no condition financially right now to import, too many good games coming out here.

Nintendo Gaming / Square/EA is gone now.
« on: February 20, 2003, 07:22:02 AM »
Personally I think it may be for the better that Square Enix will be handling it own games. For one they can make sure it gets localized, advertised, and published the way they want it to. Another thing it will make a dent in EA's revenue flow.

Nintendo Gaming / Dengeki Charts
« on: February 20, 2003, 07:09:28 AM »
Zelda isn't doing as bad as it seems. It has sold 601,230 this year. And in Decemeber it sold around 448,606 so it has broke the one million mark in sales. Which most titles can't say for them selves before falling off the chart.

Another thing to note Ruby and Sapphire have already broke the 3 million each because between the two they sold around 3,197,762, or 1,598,881 each avg. So that make it approximately 3,500,246 copies of Ruby Sold, and 3,541,231 copies of Saphire sold and they haven't even been released in any other market as of yet.

General Gaming / sony delaying the ps3?
« on: February 18, 2003, 06:39:12 AM »
Not unless they make it backwards compatible. That is one of the reasons that PSX is still being supported.  Because those who buy the PS3 will be able to buy the PS2 games and play them. So there sould really be no problem.

General Gaming / Xbox 2 and nVidia
« on: February 18, 2003, 06:34:30 AM »
That is if the next console uses a nVidia chip. The dispute may have been resolved recently but that doesn't mean they are on the greatest of terms. How whould you feel if you best friend sued you. (This is an anology.) So don't assume nothing until their are offical announcments.

Nintendo Gaming / Programming/Creating content for the Gamecube
« on: February 17, 2003, 07:45:05 AM »
Yep, that's basically what I got when I asked a few months ago. So basically there is no way you can homebrew some legal games, unless you want to sink in the money.

1423
Unless its handled correctly such a game can get boring. I remember in Marrowwind my brother tried to go back and follow some of the story line and found he couldn't because he killed the wrong person.

That was the time when the game was put up on the shelf and it hasn't come down.

General Gaming / Evangelion Game???
« on: February 17, 2003, 07:33:13 AM »
Nothing more than its suppose to be for the PS2.

I wouldn't look forward to a title such as this too much. The games based off of anime usally are as bad as games based off of moives.
