Nintendo Gaming / Super Smash Bros. advance
« on: April 03, 2003, 05:34:06 AM »
Accually they will be able to do all the character they had in the orginal since they can make carts that big for the GBA. Especially if they go with sprites.

Nintendo Gaming / More clichés (spoilers)
« on: April 03, 2003, 05:29:52 AM »
You are going to find a lot of reused bosses in the Gaming industry if it works. It was modeled after an Incan guardian, which fits so why not use it to guard the Goddess' Tower.

Nintendo Gaming / what does everyone think of the tingle tuner?
« on: April 03, 2003, 05:26:42 AM »
I like when he gets stuck in a crack and he thinks Gannon is coming to get him. I didn't get all of the Statues yet. All I need to find is the Goddess Tower one.

Nintendo Gaming / Kokiri means lumberjack!
« on: April 03, 2003, 05:24:26 AM »
Not the forests but a race named that, that lived in the forest. (Though I think they changed the spelling when it came to the US to address the last person.)

I had a strategy guide and it took me about 56 hours to get done. (But that's because I didn't open up the guide until I made it to Gannon's Tower and went back to get the stuff I missed. Which I didn't really need.)

Nintendo Gaming / BAD A$$ MO FO (SPOILERS WITHIN)
« on: April 03, 2003, 05:12:54 AM »
Spoilers:

Though I though it was funny when you ready to reflect the light arrow and she still setting up. But when you have to push him off yourself, you get struck with the arrow. Though I like how Gannon dies, I don't think he will be coming back (at least that one.) But then again there is that prophacy from the thieves guild (sorry I forgot what the race was called) that a leader will be born ever few hundred years. But then again that race was the only one that wasn't noticably represented. (The Zora turned into the Bird people, the rock people are still around.... ) And Hyrule was totally destroyed. So this will be really interesting how them make a sequal to this one. (I can't wait.)

Nintendo Gaming / Why Does the Gamecube Disc Keep Spinning?
« on: April 02, 2003, 06:47:06 PM »
The disc doesn't stop spinning because they use a CAV drive that continously spins when there is a disc present. This means there is no sleep, or standby mode. The one downside to using CAVs is that if the drive isn't made that well they have a tendance to breakdown faster because there is no standby and it spins at the same velocity all the time.

To stop it spinning you have to either open the disc cover or turn the machine off.

Nintendo Gaming / New Zelda Gamecube game after Windwaker?
« on: April 01, 2003, 09:39:14 AM »
Spoilers Alert:

I would like to see how they do a sequel to Wind Walker. Since the game's finale was conclusive in many ways. But then again they may opt to do a side story in lue of the full blowen sequel to give themselves time to do a sequel.

SPOILER END:

Nintendo Gaming / The Nintendo Gallery Alludtion
« on: April 01, 2003, 09:35:20 AM »
I'm almost to the gallery on my second time through. It would seem that you have the gallery since you start out with the Deluxe Pictobox (With the pics you had at the end of the game. The only other difference I have noticed is that the treasure maps have become more obscure.) And that some of the hearts and maps on Windfall are easier to get.

In addition yes I did give him his picture and thought it was funny.

Nintendo Gaming / new to Resident Evil - which game to start with?
« on: March 31, 2003, 05:13:40 PM »
I would start with the REmake, but I would play 0 after 3 since 0 touches on some element found in those games also. (Possible SPoilers:

Like the scientist who would become the main bad guy in 2. Who "offed" him. Some of the lab you go through very near the end is part of the lab you go through in 2. I haven't played 3 but it happens during 2. But it still keeps the one question of who is Mr. X.

Nintendo Gaming / Proper Chronology for Metroid / Samus?
« on: March 31, 2003, 05:02:14 PM »
Accually Prime comes after Metroid 2. Because Samus learns of the rebuilt base on... (Sorry I forgot the name of the planet in the orginal and Super...)

Nintendo Gaming / The Nintendo Gallery Alludtion
« on: March 31, 2003, 04:57:47 PM »
Well I'm up to Gannon so I decided to go and do some of the side quests and looking for more life. While I finally get the Delux Pictobox and and the Nintendo Gallery. And the delopers decided to put in a very good alludtion into the game. You supposedly need a membership to get in. But the person say it alright if I got in without a membership because they have been loosing members, because of lack of Gimicky Promotions. But he says the true fans know this is the coolest place..... (or something like that, pretty close but not word for word.)

If you don't know what they are getting at it about the Gamecube. Pretty good and funny in my opinion.

Nintendo Gaming / Onlines Future
« on: March 19, 2003, 06:15:25 PM »
I don't think Online is the end all future of gaming. It will be a nice addition but single Player games, and true Multiplayer games will contine to be the driving force of gaming.

Nintendo Gaming / Pokemon R/S/?
« on: March 19, 2003, 06:02:09 PM »
Yes it has a day/night function one of the first Pokemon you capture evolves different depending on the time. If its day it goes to a Butterfree type Pokemon, if its night it goes to a more moth like creature. And their are different Rarer Pokemon that come out at different times. They even made it dependent on early morning, morning afternoon, evening and night. I went through the Japanese games and didn't get most of the 203 Pokemon you can get between the two because I play on a pretty regular schedual (mostly in the night and the morning.)

Nintendo Gaming / Soul Calibur 2.....
« on: March 19, 2003, 12:58:01 PM »
Yes they game looks like it warrents my money. I was going to get the game even w/out Link because the first Soul Calibur was such a high quality fighter for the dreamcast. And Link's additions was just a plus for me. (Oh there is a thread in the talkback section.)

Nintendo Gaming / You getting R or S?
« on: March 19, 2003, 12:41:26 PM »
I bought both. I found something interesting, I imported both, and when I open the US versions there was a E Reader card in there that you can use with the game. I wonder if Nintendo added this on for the US version since I do not remember anything like this in the Japanese version. (But then again I can't read Japanese.) Because it seems like a good way to add a little more plaiblity to the games. (If you have an E-reader which I have been planing to get.)

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo changing their liscencing fees?
« on: March 19, 2003, 12:33:40 PM »
Well they have a right to change the liscensing fees as they see fit. That last profit finding was interesting. And maybe Nintendo feels to make its fees more competitive. Personally I really don't see Nintendo hiking them.

Nintendo Gaming / Onlines Future
« on: March 19, 2003, 12:14:46 PM »
No one is saying that Online gaming won't be profitable. It just when, 2005 is a long way off. And you can lose a lot of money in the duration of two years if the interest or the capibility isn't there. This is what Microsoft knows and they know they have to money to weather it a pull it out.

Nintendo on the other hand is a game only company and can't fall face first into it. So they are starting to build and find a plan that will work. They have already made a commit to its players of trying to make any such service free for just their games. But they have to find a way to minimize the loss they are going to experience with server and upkeep costs. That is one of the reasons they brought in NDCube (IMO) to see if the Battle.net way of making free works. To sell advertising slots on the service and maybe the games. (I'm not saying that it will be as easy to hack as Battle.net because Nintendo service will more than likely be a closed network.

TalkBack / GameCube Sales Double in February
« on: March 19, 2003, 10:01:18 AM »
....sigh I have to remember to put all my thoughts in...

Unfotuanatly this may mean that a lot people may not get their copies in the first few shipments. The Software Etc which I preordered at said they expect to be sold out within 24-hours of them releasing the game. (They are waiting until five to release it and they close at 8 that day so it is a fair asumpition.

TalkBack / GameCube Sales Double in February
« on: March 19, 2003, 09:54:25 AM »
The only ones who report their preorders to Nintendo are the ones that get the games from Nintendo directly. That would be the biger retailers (Wal-Mart, Babages, etc.) This also includes the distributers who distruibte to the smaller shops. So this number is fairly accurate.

Nintendo Gaming / Is this a glimpse of the future? Blu-Ray Disc ...
« on: March 17, 2003, 05:42:25 PM »
Yes it will not be probally in our life times though they start utilizing smaller states of matter. Quarks, and partial Quarks (I forgot their names) are very unstable and quickly disapate. Humans have to find a way to superceed some physical laws to make them usable.

Nintendo Gaming / Is this a glimpse of the future? Blu-Ray Disc ...
« on: March 16, 2003, 03:34:09 PM »
We are not talking Quantum computing here. We are talking about Blu-Ray disc which are bound to this law. They type of techonolgy you are talking about isn't that close to be utilized by a Gaming console in this generation and maybe the next since IBM a few years back found a way to puch the envelope of the silicon limits.

Quantum computing isn't measured in dimensions, no form of computer really is, for it to be technically usable to humans the results have to be bound to the highest dimension we are familar with (third). And Quantum computing, which uses water (note: at the last time I did research on it) and not silicon still is bound to physical laws. Since the water that is used is bound to them. There may be a better gain to loss ratio but it isn't perfect once we make that jump the computing is hampered by how the phycal chip is model but how the data that is harvested is manipulated. In theory the computing power/speed will always be a constant because its confined to how fast the electrons in the water move. The only way to get faster is to change the physical state of the medium.

Nintendo Gaming / Printing has come a long way: from 2d to 3d
« on: March 16, 2003, 03:25:56 PM »
It's utilizing a simular technoloy that forensic scientists are using to reconstruct old skeleton remains. They use a simular 3D printer and polymer to make skuls a stuff so Jane Does can be ided easier.

Nintendo Gaming / Sigh, some biassed Nintendo Bashing!
« on: March 16, 2003, 03:00:29 PM »
Edit: I started reading the next editorial.

But this guy just put rose color glasses when it came to the PS2 and the Xbox. He fails the mention that the ratio of innovative games to rehashes or sequals is just as bad on these two console. Especially if you just look at the the first party for each of the companies. Almost 95% of the PS2 first/second party line up are sequels. The only really new games that come to mind are Fanatvision, Jak and Dexter, and ICO. Compare that to Legaia 2, Wild Arms 3, Twisted Metal Black. And on the Xbox all they have really brought in invoation to gaming is Halo (which if I remember correctly is a psuedo sequal to Bungie's other First Person Shooters.) and a they made online play better than Battle.net, which it is roughly based off of.
