Nintendo Gaming / Re: Top Snes Games- Snipper64 Poll #3
« on: December 29, 2008, 11:51:58 AM »
Also, I'll add as many as I can, because 50 games don't seem to be enough for everyone here. (For my next NES poll that will be 1-2 months away, to reduce any annoyance from members, after the nes, one, if you seem to hates these polls, let me know, because 2 months after the nes poll, I want to do my final poll, Gamecube, my sec. favrite system, N64 being my first.)

Also, How you WANT ME to make the votes count?! I hear 5 and 6 aren't enough, but if I do to many votes, then it becomes trashy data, with everyone voting for every game... Go ahead, make a offer, I'm listening..

« on: December 29, 2008, 11:41:44 AM »
I voted but I just want to get this off my chest before I go into detail of what I voted for:

These polls are getting kind of annoying. No offense to you Snipper64, its just that seeing them pretty often feels like we're being bombarded with this. The N64 one was cool because it reminded me of all the favorites I haven't played for years, this one is ok too for similar reasons (though with the Virtual Console, playing some of these titles is made easier) but then you have the Top 5 Wii Games of 2008*.. really? I dunno it just feels like pushing it to me.

EDIT: *Just realized this thread wasn't started by Snipper64, so my bad, but still too many polls can be annoying.

Ya... I think there aren't even close to enough "good" wii games out to make a list... I won't be doing that... Don't worrie, I'll hold off on the "NES vote one" for a while if you think I have to many going at once...

Also, I DID start this poll XD

These games were all great games...but there are so many games to add to this list.  F-Zero, Star Fox 64, Paper Mario, Goldeneye.

What you mean? Those games are on this list...

It's my third injoy!

If you want, state your TOP 6 Picks, and give a brief description, sorry if I missed any of your favrites (I loved Alfred Chicken, but I don't rember if he was nes, or super nes... )

Any ways, I hope this makes it on a pod cast at any point, I would love that :D

Shouldn't we move this to the Nintendo Console Discussion? I mean it fits. A poll on SNES would be interesting witha ll our hazy memories and romanticised notions. Super Mario Kart will win of course but, you know.

like I said, I'll do it when this dies down. (plus a snes, nes, gamecube, and wii one)

Do you guys want me to make a poll for the Nes, Snes, and gamecube? (Maybe even the wii)? I would be more then happy to do this. I like making these type of polls, I get to see for myself what games I should get, but with better info then just plain reviews....

May I make those other polls mods? (nes, snes, Gamecube, wii?)

Nintendo Gaming / The top N64 features
« on: December 08, 2008, 07:43:15 PM »
You get three votes to pick your favorite add-ons and ideology of the n64. Yes, this is similar to my other survey(s) (yes, could be more to come).

The wii has some cool features, such as wi-fi, and awesome graphics, wireless controller, but sometimes I miss the bulky controllers and other things about the N64.

My top 3-
Cheats (God, I miss them. The flaming teddy bear company who made Battle tanx and Army man used cheats to it's fullest. And in turok, it was fun to kill simple enemies with a nuke beam with unlimited ammo)

The Controller itself (What can I say, I miss not flailing my hands around to make Mario do a simple jump, the wired controllers where much more in tuned as well)

Multilayer (while the wii has allot of wi-fi battle games, I miss the old games where as much time was put into multilayer as it was in single player... Battle Tanx... cough)

What are yours?

No Mario Kart or F-Zero? and 3 Mario Party games WTF

I fixed that, I'm sorry XD Oringanaly I was only going to give 10 options to chose from, but decided you needed more because the N64 has a wide varity...

Also, I have to give a shout out to my favrite, banjo kazzoie series.

There is no game compareible to it, as the guy (err... or girl) said above me, It was rares mario. It had the humor, the levels seemed endless like hyrule field, and the charectors were priceless. Being able to change animals, fly, and learn new moves was a huge plus as well, it wouldn't kill mario to go out and learn a few new moves besides.... err... spinning...

Ello all.

Well, the newsest podcast (10th zelda special) got me thinking of the peak of what I view of the nintendo empire, the N64. While the nes and snes, and even the gamecube are great, I mess the age of N64... As for the wii, the wii is the death of nintendo's hardcore games (ok, a few good ones, but only a few, wi-fi is by far the best part about it, I love BW2 and MoH2).

Anyways, I have decided to try to make the largest N64 poll here on RFN. I request the final results of the top 10 games ever gets listed on a future podcast, hopefully, if this is a big hit. I tryed to include the big games, but I am sorry if I messed any ones you injoyed.

Keep up the good podcast RFN.... and err... the forums too!

P.S. you get five vote points, cast your votes for the top 5 games you have injoyed in your earlyer years, here are mine in order.

1. Banjo Kazooie
2. Super Mario64
3. Starfox64
4. Banjo Tooie
5. Legand of Zelda: Orcarenia of time.

Here is the press release, before I got hell for posting a pic. of the DSI, a hot link or something, wether or not this is also a hotlink, I don't know, but I think you guys deserve to read the details straight from the source.

PRESS RELEASE: SEGA Gets Zapped by High Voltage with The Conduit

SEGA to Publish Highly Anticipated Wii Title in Spring 2009

SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® of Europe Ltd. today announced a worldwide partnership with High Voltage Software to publish and distribute the Wii™ home video game system-exclusive title, The Conduit. The first-person shooter garnered multiple awards at E3 2008, including Best Wii Game by GameTrailers and three awards from IGN: Best Shooting Game (Wii), Best Graphics Technology (Wii) and Best Overall Wii Game. The Conduit is a stunning, futuristic title powered by a new game engine technology that delivers remarkable visuals and effects, as well as a rich interactive experience that is unlike any other title on the Wii.

“The Conduit is one of the most talked-about Wii games this year and High Voltage Software has only scratched the surface of the game in terms of what they have shown so far,” says Simon Jeffery, President of SEGA of America, Inc. “They have proven that graphical and technological innovation can be exciting to the Wii market, and SEGA is thrilled to partner with a team that truly shares our belief in the Wii’s gaming potential beyond the casual market.”

“High Voltage Software’s partnership with SEGA to publish The Conduit represents an important milestone for this studio,” said Kerry Ganofsky, CEO and founder of High Voltage Software, Inc. “SEGA shares our vision for the title and its tremendous potential, which is why we chose them from a long list of potential partners. With their support, we are confident that The Conduit will deliver the definitive shooter experience that Wii fans have been waiting for.”

The Conduit takes players into a dark story in Washington D.C. after a vicious alien invasion has rocked the country. An organization called the Trust has sent in Secret Service agent, Mr. Ford, to go up against the insect-like alien race known as “The Drudge.” Armed with an array of futuristic weaponry and an intelligence-gathering device simply called the “All-Seeing Eye,” players follow an intricate storyline filled with conspiracy, shady government activity and terrifying aliens.

The Conduit’s detailed control system allows players to customize and configure look sensitivity, turning speed, the dead zone and much more. As players delve further into the mystery behind the extraterrestrial invasion, shocking details reveal that the invasion may have been brought on with help from the government itself.

Powered by High Voltage Software’s groundbreaking Quantum 3 engine, The Conduit ensures that players will experience single and multiplayer gameplay with graphical fidelity never seen before on the Wii. The Conduit will also support the recently announced Wii Speak peripheral, allowing online multiplayer gamers the ability to chat as they destroy aliens in each terrifying level. Additionally, the game will take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus for optimal control.

The Conduit, exclusively for the Wii, is slated to ship in spring 2009. For more information on the game, please visit http://www.conduitgame.com. For screenshots and art, please visit the SEGA FTP site at http://segapr.segaamerica.com.

Nintendo Gaming / Downloadable Gamecube games comming to wii!
« on: October 28, 2008, 08:14:03 PM »
It has been anounced that gamecubes games will be downlaodable, but also have a wii controler makeover, pikman will be leading the march on December 25.

I get my info on Wiinintendo.com, if you want the direct artical, go to...
http://www.wiinintendo.net/2008/10/28/lets-play-on-wii-titles-coming-to-the-us/

Here is the info in Direct Quotes

"At Nintendo’s conference in Japan, they announced the “Wii de Asobu” selection (a.k.a. “Let’s Play on Wii”). These titles are GameCube games that have been re-made with Wii controls. The titles announced for Japan were Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Mario Power Tennis, and Chibi Robo. Many, including me, hoped that these titles would come to the US and now we have proof that they may indeed be coming stateside.

Pikmin and Pikmin 2 have been rated by the ESRB again, and they both now include the Wii tag, confirming that they’re coming to the US and for Wii. On top of that, Amazon has a listing for Pikmin for Wii now. Games4Gamers has listings up for Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin, both with a release date of 2/9/09. While the release date isn’t confirmed, it’s good to know that these titles will be coming to the US. I held off on buying Pikmin and Pikmin 2 for some stupid reason and I’m happy I did that so I can get them for Wii. And if you’re wondering, the picture above is a translation of a slide from Nintendo’s conference."

I don't know if anyone mention this yet, but acording to wiinintendo.com, the conduct will be published by SEGA!

Direct quotes

"Don’t you just love leaks? Check out this Sega site: ftp://segapr.segaamerica.com/SEGA_GAMES/

All of that is straight from Sega, so it’s obviously official. You’ll see all the Sega titles and the media that is hosted on Sega’s website. Well, earlier today it seems there was another folder there that is now mysteriously missing. Yup, you guesssed it… The Conduit. So why would there be a folder for The Conduit (which was empty at the time by the way) that got taken away mysteriously after it was discovered? Sounds like Sega is The Conduit’s publisher to me. While there isn’t total evidence yet, it seems very likely to me that this is a real leak. Hopefully we’ll get an official announcement soon.

UPDATE: We now have a screenshot of the folder for The Conduit on the website. I updated the picture above with the screenshot.

UPDATE 2: There’s another screenshot of the empty folder if you hit the jump. This has to be legit guys. Looks like it’s Sega that is the publisher."

« on: October 17, 2008, 03:38:48 PM »
I voted yes/no just because I could, I haven't seen a Nintendo commercial in years.

I said advertising over all, true, little to no tv ads, but alot on the nintendo channle, I prefer tv ads...

198
So because they haven't, they won't? What? Pilotwings 64 hasn't been re-released yet. Shall we assume that game will never be re-released either? Or shall we just assume that, for some inexplicable reason, Nintendo has suddenly decided that they don't want to make money for doing next to nothing. VC games are almost entirely all pure profit. Mother 1 and 3 need to be localized, but Nintendo will spend nothing on marketing, pressing the game into a disc/cart, boxes, manuals, shipping etc.

don't get so bent out of shape, i'm just speaking on behalf of a deprived earthbound fan. We all know nintendo loves money, especially when it comes from us buying games that are re-released. In the case of Mother 3, they'd milk the fanbase by releasing mother 1 and 2 first, building up hype for 3... then not releasing it. Then later on, re-releasing 1 and 2 and finally 3 for extra profits!

this would of made sense to do during GBA's reign since they DID re-release mother 1+2 for gba but they never brought it outside of japan. Along comes the DS and a few SNES sequels and re-makes and everyone gets excited thinking we'll get a mother 1+2+3 and what does nintendo do?!? Nothing! Flash forward to VC and you'd think we woulda had it by now, 2 years after wii's release... and still nothing. So many missed chances to print money and they haven't acted upon it. Thats all i'm saying.

Wow, the sad thing is that makes PERFECT sence that nitendo would do...

Well, I personally believe Nintendo advertising has gone down the gutters with such ads as
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5XmLogNeBw

They are all the same, from raving rabbids to well... tetris, it shows a grown family, on the sofa, playing their hearts out, unable to stop laughing all the while they make fools of themselves and the game it self.

Message: Play this family friendly game, with the AWSOME motion controls, that ANYONE can play!

Well... that's creative, then again only the softcore games get ads, while games like madworld, metriod, and real games are only mention in game forums like the one we are on now...
