NEW MARIO GAME?!

Well here is the story...

From:http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=377285
Quote
Charles Martinet (the voice of Mario) recently teased about doing a voice recording gig in Seattle for a new Mario title. He says that it's not for New Super Mario Bros. Wii or Mario Galaxy 2.

I hope it's not another Mario Party or Mario Sports title though.

Here's what he said on Twitter about it:

- Mama Mia!!!! I'm going to Seattle this week to record a new Mario game! Woo Hooo!!!!! I can hardly wait!!!!1

- Big day tomorrow! Seattle for a new Mario game! Yippee!!! And just as a joke, it's going to rain....in San Francisco tomorrow!

- Awesome new Mario Game! And it's not NSMB Wii, and it's not Galaxy 2, but it's going to be crazy fun!

I did not check this twitter post as I do not know how to use twitter, could someone check this for us? Also, I KNOW there is a Bloody "rumors" topic somewhere here, but call me stupid because I cannot find it... yes I did search, but that did not help at all.

Anyways, what you think it is? I would say something secondary like a mario party, or a sports game (tennis, soccer, golf), but he says "It is crazy fun" so I do not know if it is something else...

Nintendo Gaming / New starfox revealed in a upcomming Nintendo power?!
« on: August 28, 2009, 12:00:38 PM »
Well the following is just a rumor from a translated website Nintendocu.com (may be another official nintendo website for another country, but not sure, I am not THAT smart  :-[ )

Anyways, as far as the translation goes, it appears two  upcoming nintendo powers were leaked to the public... here they are.

As some of you may know the first one was allready released, the starfox one not. I'll be honest, the website doesn't make much sence, doesn't say if this will be the next nintendo power, or the one after (IF AT ALL). SO I'll leave you guys to duel it out if it is a fake or not.

The rumor was as follows:

* İsmi Star Fox Wii: Battle for Corneria * Name Star Fox Wii: Battle for Corneria
* Motion Plus destekli * Motion Plus support
* Wii Speak ve Online Battle destekli. * Wii Speak and Online Battle enhanced.

NWR Forums Discord / Battle toads... for wii?!
« on: August 09, 2009, 12:08:38 AM »
Yah, I mentioned in a older post, i just bought a SNES from a relitive. It came with 10 games, and all of whiched I liked, one of the funnest two player games were, battle toads. Battle toads is a side scroller brawler that not only kicked the baddies a$$, but your friends as well as traditionaly you could hit each other.

Anyways, while looking for tricks on youtube, I came across a video... about not battletoads JUST comming to virtrual consal, but as a FULL 3D GAME sequal!

I won't say much more, here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnPv9l-5LNQ&feature=rec-HM-fresh+div

So, is this the real thing?! It looks cheap, but convincing... I am really unsure of this, but seems real enough, and the game play makes sence on the wii.

General Gaming / "There Will be Brawl!"- A online video review
« on: July 26, 2009, 10:55:52 PM »
Ever since I got internet, I have allways searched out Nintendo parodies...

I love and watch mostly sprite movies on newgrounds, and a few live action preformed ones on youtube, but by far, the best series is the "there will be brawl" episodes.

The plot is complex, funny, and hooking. I could try to describe the plot, but I feel the producers explanation to be much better then anything I could come up with...

Quote from: therewillbebrawl.com
In a Dystopian Mushroom Kingdom, corruption and avarice reign supreme. Even the greatest heroes of the land have buckled beneath the overwhelming will of the amoral elite. When a series of grisly crimes pushes an unlikely champion to seek the truth, a mystery unfolds that could completely destroy everything he holds dear.

“There Will Be Brawl” is a non-profit web series designed as a dark, dramatic parody of the popular Super Smash Bros. Brawl video game for the Nintendo Wii. The Creators of the project are avid fans of Nintendo, and this series has been developed as an homage to the colorful characters of SSBB that we all know and love. Through the hard work of a talented cast and crew, and the support of our fans, we hope to continue to produce a story you will all enjoy.

Ok, I have never seen "there will be blood" the movie, but I am assuming it is a Nintendo parody of it. When people (starts with mewtwo) getting killed, the retired and forgotten Mario bros. not only have to discover the murderer of the killings, but they themselves are being blamed and chased for it. Luigi stars as the Private Eye detective, and Mario as the beaten druggie (hooked on beer and mushrooms) who will beat anyone in his way. Mario may be retired and out of shape, but you don't mess around with him and his bro!

They team up with other Nintendo super stars (mostly from brawl) to try to solve the murders. All of the murders are the people who were in Melee and did not show up in brawl (such as mewtwo, pichu, and roy).

This is no child movie, if it was rated movie rise, it would easily earn a PG-13, or maybe even a R rating for language, drugs, and "suggestive" themes. They keep it decent, and funny, but still stay away if you are under 13!

The royal Zelda and peach are under constant fighting, as hyrule and the mushroom kingdom kill off important members of each other. Zelda and link so far appear as rich bad guys.

Now for the outfits... I will continue this in part two being typed up next!

6
Well, for 5 bucks, I bought my first SNES from my cousin, it came with 10 games, 2 controllers, and no hassle. I grew up with a super nes, but it belong to my daycare sitter, and I never owned one until today! I got super Mario world, paperboy, Joe and mac 2 lost in the tropics, and finally battletoads, and etc!

I'll have you know, my cousin was extraordinary abusive to the SNES, luckily everything still works, but he smashes the controller on the hard floor whenever he lost (which is allot), swap games while leaving it on, and other terrible things. So I saved it, and gave it a good home now :3

Anyways, you are probably wondering what I mean by "Zombie SNes", well ironically today when I got the abused SNES, I saw this on the internet...

The best stories are the weird stories.

I guess my SNES is luckyer then I thought...

Reader Reviews / Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
« on: June 14, 2009, 11:56:17 AM »
Well this is my first review(s), so please take it easy on me ;p

Well, I downloaded this game yesterday day, and got a good 3 hours into it. I know It is not nearly enough time to write a full review on it at once, but I figured I would make them in installments as I kept playing. So here is my first 3 hours review!

Also Note, I never played the original on nes (or Snes), but I played the gameboy version and own the DS remake. I loved the gameplay, the story, and the awe of the original. So I couldn't wait to pay 800 wii points to get the longly awaited sequel!

Ok, Let me explain how the gameplay works to the people who never played the original one before... Well First off, you can control up to 5 characters at once, each have a diffrent class (Black mages, White Mages (Healers), Knights, Dragoon (A glorified spearman who can jump at great heights) and Summoners who can summon Powerfull monsters to fight in a battle, plus many more classes!). The battle real time, time based combat (Sorta like turn base like on Pokemon for example, but depending how fast your unit is, decides how many blows you can land before the other). Enemy Monsters attack you as you walk randomly (Using Pokemon as an example again, like when you walk through tall grass).

The story is based that your party keeps losing characters, and getting new ones. One moment you may just have a physical brute knight, but you may get a black mage later to kill many enemies at once with powerful spells. Also, there is a really good story, it will hook you, and keep you playing regardless of how many dungens you have to claw through to reach the conclusions.

In the original, a Black Knight from Baron (A Powerfull kingdom) is sent out to capture energy crystals from other kingdoms, and kill anyone in his way. Afterwards Cecil the black knight realises his be-love king is corrupted and flees. He meets up with many people, a summoner name rydia, and Kain his old friend a dragoon joins him, even a sad barb who lost his love in a attack from Baron joins him. Soon after taking a long physical and mental journey, Cecil cleanses himself from the darkness and become a white Paladin. After many plot twist and party members, he reaches the evil Black Lord Golbez, who has been ripping the land to shreds, and collecting the crystals to power a road to the moon. It turns out Golbez is Cecil's brother, and Cecil and Golbez are half aliens of the moon, and a evil Lunarian name Zeromus (a alien) was controlling Golbez. So Golbez is now a good guy, and they go up to the moon and own Zeromus and save the world. Cecil gets married to Rosa (a white mage) and become the new king & Queen of baron. Golbez stays on the moon, and moves it away from the planet (The planet had two moons, but he moved the other foreign one far away). And that's how it ends basically.
_________________________________________________

Ok, Now the new people are up to date with gameplay and story of first one, now I'll take about Final Fantasy IV: The After Years...

The beginning story has some Real big plot twist, but I am only 3 hours into the first chapter, so nothing that would ruin the plot for you at all!

The Second moon is back, and monsters have once again gone aggressive. Ceodore, Cecil's and Rosa's son is in the middle of training to become a Red Wing of baron (Basically the air force of Baron, but instead with airships) when things go bad back in Baron. Monsters are invading lead by a mysteries summoner who is in control of Behumont (The God of all monsters, the best summon).

Combat works the same, if you played a original version, you will pick it right up. The Map, dungens, and baddies are all back, but there are many new dungens, Monsters and characters two!

Here is a basic overview how much i got done in 3 hours!

-Went in dungen at Mythil Island (yes, the dungeon order is WAY diffrent then in last game)
-Played as Ceodore,Captin Biggs (Soilder), and Wedge (Soilder)
-After fought monsters in Baron
-Played as Cecil, Rosa and Cid!
-back to Ceodores story (you keep jumping between diffrent stories, keeps the plot fresh)
-A "Mysterious hooded knight" joins you (My guess it is the Barb Edward)
-A Black mage, and White mage Joins you
-You go through the "devils road"
       - I want to talk about the devils road in more detail. Fr newbies it is the magical road that connects Baron to another Kingdom. In first game, you just teloport, in this game, there is a new dungen connecting the two doorways you have to go through. This is my ONLY HUGE problem with the game, as this dungen is %100 unfair. It is a teloporting dungen, you will Be faced with two teloporters, one will bring you foreward in the dungen, one will bring you back to the START OF THE MAZE! It's %100 percent guessing, and you have to do this about 20 times in a row correctly in order to move on! In the middle of all of this, random battles, no save point, and hurting UNAVOIDABLE lava will cut your HP and MP down to almost nothing! If you are lucky, you may not find this too hard!
-The Kingdom Barons Door is shut, by mindless guards who don't let you in, even though you are a prince "Ring a bell?"
-You have to take the hiddon path and dungen from Baron's Town to sneak in the castle via back way "Ring another bell?"
-Everyone is mindless, including king Cecil "RING RING RING!"

Besides, the new players, new (very good) story, and new dungens, this game is very close to the origanal, but diffrent enough to keep you hooked. You are not buying a rehashed game, you are buying a sequel!

TWO BIG differences in combat is the moon and "bands"

Moon- There are four phases of the moon that changes as you sleep. Each phase effects you Black magic, white magic, and physical attacks. A full moon cuts attacks in half, but makes black magic Double! Half of the right moon means Attacks are doubled, and white magic is cut! You can use this to your advanted, or get screwed with it as well!

Bands- basically combo attacks. You pick two or more people (Lets say two knights) and "band" two of their moves together ("band" both knights "attack" command), and you will either fail if they aren't compatible, or you will land a powerful combo (Knights combo attacks all baddies, and does LOTs of damage to all of them). My guess later in the game bands will get more complex and more powerfull!

:rolleyes:ALSO NOTE: The game description says it is just one player, but what I am seeing in the settings option, you can assign a player a character during battle! Lets say we are in a heated battle, and I need to focus on Cecil's, and Rosa's heeling moves, I could give player 2,3, or 4 my other party members to use! So my friend can be using Rydia, as I use just Cecil! Something like that! I will test it out later today! Looks cool though!

:'(

Well this is the 3rd time I am trying to post this. I spent the last 30 min typing a summery of how I felt like I wasn't welcomed on this site due to my age, but it closed on me, i only was able to save a SMALL part of it. but I guess I should post it. Sorry guys, my longer version explained my complant allot better, but I am in no mood to type it again!

Well I love the podcast guys good job. You keep mentioning the website, so I came and visit it. For the last month or so, I have felt VERY alienated from most of the members. I understand why adults would love Nintendo and etc as much as kids, but man, I feel like I am talking to robots at times. I feel bad even mentioning this, but I have consider leaving the site all together just because of this. By robots I mean you at times show no compassion for games anymore (or at least send out this vibe).

After being ridiculed for my childish intellect (well... that's how I feel when ever someone replies to me) yesterday, I typed this sorta angry rant in a topic. I decided not to post it as it may hurt some feelings and point fingers. I however just didn't want to delete it, so in hopes that some of you may read this, and may realize you may in fact be one of these "robots". I MEAN NO disregards for you guys, and this website, just

Man, WHATEVER I say gets torn to cr@p on this website... I know after you point it out I was in fact wrong, but I am always wrong, and am allways reminded about it. I came to this website to listen to stuff about games and the media from diffrent perspectives, as I feel in love with the podcast. But I feel this website/forum IS WAY TOO mature for me, by mature I mean I am (a kid) alienated from everyone else.

And that is were it was deleted. I feel like a jerk, now. Without the end of my conclusion, you think I am just stupid. But I did explain I DO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE COMMING FROM at times.

Also, Please be nice in your replies, I know you ALL disagree with me, but once again my last part of the rant DID cover that. Once again, sorry guys, I do love you all, just can be inhuman at times :D

Nintendo Gaming / Lego.... Rockband?

 ???

Well, I care little for gutair hero, and even less for rockband, but have always enjoyed Lego games.... well sorta. Anyways, I read from another site that there is a rockband coming out for wii... in lego format?

The source seems reliable, but I wanted to see if any of you know if this is a joke, or real, I wouldn't put it past either rockband or legos to not do this.

You guys have a nice Calendar on your website, but don't you have power to edit it?

Nintendo Gaming / Netflix on Wii?!
« on: March 22, 2009, 10:18:26 AM »
 :o

Well, there is a rumor going around the web that netflix may be thinking of comming to wii. Make sence right? X-box also runs it, why not wii? Here is the direct quote from http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/20/survey-proposes-netflix-service-for-wii/

Quote
Netflix may be looking to expanding their service beyond Xbox 360. According to a consumer survey mailed to a Joystiq reader, Netflix may provide their service to Wii owners. “Imagine that, as an added benefit to DVDs by mail, Netflix offers its members the ability to watch movies & TV episodes instantly on their TV via their Nintendo Wii, choosing from a library of over 12,000 choices.

According to the survey, the Netflix service will be enabled through a “Netflix Instant Streaming Disc.” The disc would need to be placed in the Wii every time someone wanted to use the Netflix service. Unlike Microsoft, it appears Nintendo will not bundle Netflix into an upcoming firmware.

The existence of this survey doesn’t necessarily mean Netflix support on Wii is confirmed. However, it does suggest the company has been investigating the possibilities. We’re certain Netflix is eager to tap into the millions of Nintendo fans ready to try the streaming movie service.

Nintendo Gaming / The top N64 features
« on: December 08, 2008, 07:43:15 PM »
You get three votes to pick your favorite add-ons and ideology of the n64. Yes, this is similar to my other survey(s) (yes, could be more to come).

The wii has some cool features, such as wi-fi, and awesome graphics, wireless controller, but sometimes I miss the bulky controllers and other things about the N64.

My top 3-
Cheats (God, I miss them. The flaming teddy bear company who made Battle tanx and Army man used cheats to it's fullest. And in turok, it was fun to kill simple enemies with a nuke beam with unlimited ammo)

The Controller itself (What can I say, I miss not flailing my hands around to make Mario do a simple jump, the wired controllers where much more in tuned as well)

Multilayer (while the wii has allot of wi-fi battle games, I miss the old games where as much time was put into multilayer as it was in single player... Battle Tanx... cough)

What are yours?

Nintendo Gaming / The top N64 games
« on: December 08, 2008, 04:20:55 PM »
Ello all.

Well, the newsest podcast (10th zelda special) got me thinking of the peak of what I view of the nintendo empire, the N64. While the nes and snes, and even the gamecube are great, I mess the age of N64... As for the wii, the wii is the death of nintendo's hardcore games (ok, a few good ones, but only a few, wi-fi is by far the best part about it, I love BW2 and MoH2).

Anyways, I have decided to try to make the largest N64 poll here on RFN. I request the final results of the top 10 games ever gets listed on a future podcast, hopefully, if this is a big hit. I tryed to include the big games, but I am sorry if I messed any ones you injoyed.

Keep up the good podcast RFN.... and err... the forums too!

P.S. you get five vote points, cast your votes for the top 5 games you have injoyed in your earlyer years, here are mine in order.

1. Banjo Kazooie
2. Super Mario64
3. Starfox64
4. Banjo Tooie
5. Legand of Zelda: Orcarenia of time.

Nintendo Gaming / Downloadable Gamecube games comming to wii!
« on: October 28, 2008, 08:14:03 PM »
It has been anounced that gamecubes games will be downlaodable, but also have a wii controler makeover, pikman will be leading the march on December 25.

I get my info on Wiinintendo.com, if you want the direct artical, go to...
http://www.wiinintendo.net/2008/10/28/lets-play-on-wii-titles-coming-to-the-us/

Here is the info in Direct Quotes

"At Nintendo’s conference in Japan, they announced the “Wii de Asobu” selection (a.k.a. “Let’s Play on Wii”). These titles are GameCube games that have been re-made with Wii controls. The titles announced for Japan were Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Pikmin, Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Mario Power Tennis, and Chibi Robo. Many, including me, hoped that these titles would come to the US and now we have proof that they may indeed be coming stateside.

Pikmin and Pikmin 2 have been rated by the ESRB again, and they both now include the Wii tag, confirming that they’re coming to the US and for Wii. On top of that, Amazon has a listing for Pikmin for Wii now. Games4Gamers has listings up for Mario Power Tennis and Pikmin, both with a release date of 2/9/09. While the release date isn’t confirmed, it’s good to know that these titles will be coming to the US. I held off on buying Pikmin and Pikmin 2 for some stupid reason and I’m happy I did that so I can get them for Wii. And if you’re wondering, the picture above is a translation of a slide from Nintendo’s conference."

General Gaming / Nintendo's advertisement

Well, I personally believe Nintendo advertising has gone down the gutters with such ads as
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5XmLogNeBw

They are all the same, from raving rabbids to well... tetris, it shows a grown family, on the sofa, playing their hearts out, unable to stop laughing all the while they make fools of themselves and the game it self.

Message: Play this family friendly game, with the AWSOME motion controls, that ANYONE can play!

Well... that's creative, then again only the softcore games get ads, while games like madworld, metriod, and real games are only mention in game forums like the one we are on now...
