TalkBack / Re: Nintendo to Help Promote Dragon Quest X

And let's be honest here: Nintendo deserved every bit of what they got from Square in the N64 days.  Remember when Yamauchi said that RPG gamers were sad little people living in their parent's basement, and that they really didn't care about RPGs?  Yeah, that was bright.
That's what comes with old age. And yes, it was Nintendo's fault that Square gave them the finger. If Sony had their way back in the early ninties, we would've had a SNES CD add-on with Secret of Mana. If the N64 used CD-Roms, we would've gotten better third party support and maybe Final Fantasy VII. That's what happens when you treat 3rd parties like sh*t.

While it's pretty good Nintendo is giving support to Dragon Quest X, where the eff is The Crystal Bearers? That game looked amazing. I would rather see Nintendo support that.

Sorry, Kojima is a Nintendo hating troll, even if he fawns over some of their franchises like a pre-teen school girl.

He's too busy writing Snake X Samus fanfiction to care anymore. Yes, I went there, I couldn't resist.

It was a very good read, and he made some very good points. Yet whenever Nintendo tried to do something vastily different in a series, everyone bitched about it. Majora's Mask is one of my favorite Zelda games because the content was different. Yes, it was a sequal to Ocarina of Time, and had way fewer dungeons, but the sense of adventure, awaiting the new lands you could explore and interacting with the NPCs was a great experience. However, about 20% of the fanbase liked it, while others bitched about how it wasn't Ocarina of Time.

And what about the "core" audience that Nintendo is so-called "abandoning"? Heh, it's ironic considering that the majority of Nintendo "core" SNES audience dropped them like a rock after the PSX came out, and completely ignored them (for some obvious reasons) during the GCN era. Is it really Nintendo's fault that Wit Fit sells more then Metroid Prime 3? While the latter didn't have as much marketing, it still sold over a million units. Quite a respectable number. And then there are the games that were show-cased at the Fall Summit.

Or we could just hark on Reggie. That's always fun.

Jill could get the best weapons in REmake.
She starred in her own Resident Evil game.

Way to ruin a strong female character, Capcom. Unless she really isn't dead.

The Wii bash pretty much killed the rest of the article for me, but he did make excellent points about big budget games.

Does he even remember Metroid Prime 3 or Galaxy? Guess the Wii is too casual for 1up bloggers.

And...why should we be surprised? Capcom basically dicked over Nintendo, it's fans and Mikami along with the rest of Clover when it shafted the Gamecube 5. The RE4 exclusive deal wasn't Mikami's doing either, it was basically the stockholders doing. It's what made Clover break away and form a new studio. Zack and Wiki might not even get a sequal, and they are blaming the Wii user base for not buying it... except they didn't advertise the fucking game AT ALL.

Maybe we should make a thread about game marketing?

Animal Crossing has more gameplay then Acts 3, 4, and five of MGS4. Acts 1 and 2 were basically the bulk of what you could do. It's like Kojima stopped caring after Act 3. Not to mention that horrible reference to Madner in the act 3 briefing, which was suppose to be a reference to Snatcher, but god knows that MGS fanboys don't give two shits about Kojima's works outside of Metal Gear.

The series basically went downhill with MGS3. MGS2 was great, you could play more of that game then MGS4. (Hated Snake's acclerated aging plot twist, considering the MGS4 ending... which sucked massively but I might get into it later... maybe.)

The ugliness of IGN's review system hit it's festering point with me after the reviews of Metal Gear Solid 4. The game did not deserve a ten. Yet, then came Super Mario Galaxy. It was a fantastic game, but was docked three points by Matt for the camera. Okay, fair enough, but three points seems a bit over done. I thought Mario Galaxy's camera was a massive improvement over Sunshine's camera. It made Galaxy a wonderful experience.

Off topic, Infernal did an excellent review of Sonic Unleashed for the Wii.

While the Sega support has been great, their games have been average at best.

ubiSoft... HA, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I hope Beyond Good and Evil 2 fails, it's our god given right.

I thought Luigi's Mansion was fun.  :'(

Third for another F-Zero, Amusement Vision or otherwise. Another Super Monkey Ball wouldn't hurt either.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Evaluating New Wii Remote Motion Chip Manufacturers

Unless Nintendo is REALLY dumb they're not going to change the accuracy of the remote.  They surely would know that would mess up the controls of existing games or make future games work goofy with old remotes.  No, that would be stupid.
We've been proven over and over again that a majority of developers excluding Nintendo's can't really work around the inaccuracy of the Wiimote. In fact, having a better chip could make some games play better without having the remake them with the Wii Motion Plus.

I also bolded that sentence to just say that I highly doubt that will happen. Then again, this is Nintendo, anything is possible.

Wasn't Sonic Heroes a pretty good game? (I never played it)
Controls were terrible, camera was awful, some levels took nearly ten minutes to complete, there was no real different between the four teams, they ruined the story line by not making Eggman the main villain, Shadow is alive, too much music by Jun Sunoue.

2217
Alot of my favorite games were kind of fetch quests (DKC 2 and 3 come to mind), but after Donkey Kong 64 was destoryed because of this element, I hated fetch quests. However, Prime's fetch quest was decent, and it did bring about a small sense of accomplishment. I still hated it though.

2218
I was just applying it to Sonic Team games. AV, Overworks, Hitmaker and the AM groups don't count. (because they aren't ass-whipped by Sega.)

2219
Luigi's Mansion should not be compared to the Warehog.

No Nintendo game(s) should EVER be compared to Sonic Team games. Even if said Sonic Team products are sometimes half decent CGI short films that are not games at all. :P

2220
Considering I passed Metroid Prime 2 and I absolutely hated that fetch quest at the end of Prime, I might give a remake a chance IF they get rid of it.

And like Ardork pointed out, both games on one disc for $30. Make it $20 with everything mentioned and I'm sold.
