There wasn't much last week in terms of Nintendo-related goods, so I'm adding some Wario Land Shake and Tales scans from CoroCoro...

June 20th Edition

Wario Land Shake

Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk

(God, Lloyd is a BEAST! Tee hee, pun intended...)

June 27th Edition

Arc Rise Fantasia (Wii)

~ Publisher: Marvelous
~ Developer: Image Epoch (Luminous Arc, World Destruction)
~ Genre: Traditional RPG
~ 3 character party
~ The entire party shares an AP gauge, which depletes as actions are performed
~ It is possible for a character to attack more than once, or for them to use a single stronger attack, but it will leave less AP available for the other two characters to use
~ If multiple characters use the same skill on the same enemies, the effectiveness of the skill will be increased
~ Scenario by Takumi Miyajima (Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Abyss)
~ Music by Yasunori Mitsuda
~ Official Site will be open on 27th June
~ Graphics style is similar to tri-Ace games
~ Widescreen option

Rune Factory Frontier (Wii)

A bit off-topic, but Natsume has revealed that Rune Factory 2 for DS will be coming this Fall...Seems pretty likely they'll do the same for Frontier... :cool;

Graphics don't make a spit of difference if you have good art design, which this game has...

It's more fun to actually just list everything in one group than separate them into "I expect this" and "I would like to see this"...

~ Pie charts reveal that Nintendo is indeed kicking a lot of ass...
~ Wii release dates for Disaster, Wii Music, Animal Crossing, Fatal Frame, Wario Land Shake, and Kid Icarus, all for this year...Kirby Wii pops up, but will be a 2009 title...
~ On the DS side, Soma Bringer, Professor Layton and Pandora's Box, and Glory of Heracles will all be localized this year...Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe delayed to release alongside Kirby Wii (September 29th release)...
~ I expect Wii Music and Animal Crossing to take up a nice chunk of the conference, just like Wii Fit did last year...
~ New Super Mario Brothers 2 revealed, being a spiritual sequel to Super Mario 3 or World...November 2008 release...
~ GOLDEN SUN 3 (for DS)...
~ Retro's new Wii game will be revealed (Zelda rumor?)...Release will be Summer/Fall 2009...
~ Pikmin 3 (possibly by NST?) will be revealed for Wii, as might Star Fox (done internally), but F-Zero is dead...
~ NST will reveal a new IP for Wii...Release will be early 2009...
~ A couple new games will be revealed for use with the Balance Board, including Wario Ware Balanced...
~ Third party roll including footage for FFCC: The Crystal Bearers (which will be a completely different looking game than it looked in the original teaser) and Monster Hunter 3...Nintendo will also announce that they have gained exclusive rights to another major 3rd party franchise...
~ A new Zelda Wii trailer will appear, but not at the conference...Instead, it will pop up the next day much like the Brawl trailer did...

I'm saying that Metal Gear Solid 4 is the first game to make me cry.

EDIT:  *In before "It's that bad? LOLOLOLOLOLOL"

I was totally going to say that too... =(

My only attachments so far are to Otacon, Sunny, and uh, the monkey...Yeah... :tpg:

Some of the characters make me cry...laughing...Like Raging Raven...RAGE!  RAGGGGGGGGE!!!!

Oh no, are you implying that you have no problem being a cynical emo-oozing git?  Are you a masochist, too?  =(

"First MGS game? I guess I'm not fazed by the cutscenes any longer because I'm so used to their lengthiness in the preceding games."

I played through a bit of the first and second games, but 4 is by far the worst...

"As far as I'm concerned, they are less annoying than they were in MGS2, where nearly every scene was needlessly wordy and obnoxious."

That pretty much describes this game, though...Snake is noticeably worse when it comes to making every little thing he says sound as if it's the most epic and shocking thing he's seen all day...I just want him to shut up and let someone else talk!

"The voice acting is top notch"

If only the dialogue wasn't hammy, obnoxious, and redundant statements of the obvious... =|

Like that reunion between Snake and Meryl...I swear the conversation just switched gears about a half-dozen times with a hilarious range of emotions...Talk about mood swings...

Coolest part of the game so far (through the beginning of the second chapter) is where you sneak around behind a tank as it trashes up everyone in front of it...

Okay, so I'm about two hours into the game, and...God, where do I begin?

And I say that instead of "played two hours" because I've only played around a half hour...These cutscenes are ridiculously annoying...

Do I REALLY need a 15 minute cutscene that boils down to "Sup, I launder weapons.  Want some?"  This game already gets at least two points off for pissing the hell out of me... >=|

As I mentioned, you start to get different attacks (you are absolutely flooded in the first hour...I have around a dozen different attack creatures), and as Mr. Jack mentioned you have to figure out which Folks are best to use against others, which adds a nice strategic element to the game...

But if you don't like ARPGs in general I can't imagine you liking this one...

Small battle clip...

I've played through about an hour and a half so far, though half of that was story stuff (just let me play!)

The battle system is incredibly fun so far...You start off with two "Folks" which are basically your attacks (your little creatures appear to do an attack)...When you take down an enemy Folk's health down enough, its spirit will come out, and you have a chance to absorb it (By shooting out a Ghostbusters-esque beam at it and then flicking the controller up to capture it)...Doing so will allow you to use that creature as an attack...As you fight and absorb more of that specific Folk, you power up the attack/defense of that creature's specific ability...The creatures are a crapload of awesome, to boot...Like a giant Wyvern-type thing that pops up and blows a big gust of wind, or a giant hairy Yeti thing called a Bug-a-boo that tries to mime a sea urchin...Fun, fun fun! :tpg:

After working with Sony so much, my assumption would be that their console platform of choice would be PS3, which they would then port over to 360.

So a small developer who has only worked on PSP (I'm obviously not counting the Okami port-job) will run straight uphill into PS3 development?  For some reason I find that illogical unless they get a crapload of developer support from Sony or some other publisher...

1293
Faxanadu, and Terranigma. Oh, and I also want Gameboy and Gameboy Colour games too.

It took this many posts to list this?  Everyone else fails... =(

But I love the concept, so I wish you luck and will definitely look forward to giving it a watch... =)

Whoops, I forgot your quote, GP... =3

Quote from: Bill Aurion
Seriously, this isn't even being fanboyish at this point...It's almost 3 million sales for sub-400K system sales...GTA will probably sell another 3 million or more next month but there won't be much change in hardware...

It appears I completely OVER-estimated GTA's selling power...It didn't even sell half that...

Isn't that a bit unfair considering GTAIV came out on the 29th of the month. We may see something completely different next month when the numbers tell the story of how GTAIV impacted console sales.

Maybe 360 and PS3 sales will be better in May...

This thread is fanboi thread of the year.  These are some serious early judgments from two time losers.

Seriously guys, wait for May.

Personally not sure.  Also Bill Gunstar Hereos and the GBA Version are pretty much the same game.  I was so disappointed by that.  Rune Factory is good but it takes way way to long to get to the courting portion and where you can upgrade tools etc.  Folklore is also good if a little annoying on the "Over World" and there isn't enough quests.

I have no problem with Gunstar Heroes being the same...In fact, I probably prefer it considering the original is perfect... :cool;

I got Folklore because I'm an ARPG-whore, but it being a decent game is good to hear... ='D
