i also tend to switch from touchscreen to dpad, but I prefer to stick with teh touchscreen. It just takes a little self control to keep from moving the "analog target" all over the screen.

i don't find it uncomfortable unless my thumb is stretched to the far side of the touchscreen for too long.

i like the touchscreen control. I don't find it too difficult to use, you just have to reposition your finger occasionally.. big deal.

the dual handed setup, however, i am not  a fan of... maybe i am just no good with the stylus; oh well

MTV's Real World residents need to get their own DS's. Road Rules as well.

residents in real world could use pictochat to talk to their roomies more efficiently

ditto for the travelling companions in road rules

you know they'd rave about how badass madden will be..

speaking of madden; with each DS gamecard required to have the rewritable ROM (ram etc.), couldnt you wirelessly transfer madden rosters to teh DS and save it  on the game card?

hmm..

we'll definitely see some great puzzlers on the DS.

ooo.. how about a crossword puzzle game? touch screen shows the board from a distance,  top screen shows clues for whatever area you touch on the screen.

finally, a game for senior citizens

Mr. Kataguri and Sony really do believe that this will be the walkman of the game industry; if they plan on having upgrades and better versions every two years, count me out.

yay... i do really hope that this is a pack-in with the system -- not because i'm  cheap, but because i believe it will make the DS more user friendly, thus casual gamers will be able to adapt to the new styles of gameplay

seriously, i dont understand why so many people are so quick to bite the hand that feeds them.

when is the last time a console launched with a pack-in game? (bundles dont count)

people should be glad that we are at least getting something... shoot i was ecstatic when i learned that it would launch at $150; hearing that we were getting a metroid demo was icing on the cake.

if it is multiplayer only (which honestly i dont think NOA is that stupid), is it really going to botch the launch, make DS fail, and push nintendo out of business?

no, so quit complaining and start saving your money for the most bitchin handheld since the original GameBoy

so i was talking to a guy at EB about the DS release; EB Games says $200 on nov. 31st, and of course this guy was confident in what his computer told him.
(though i never believe those bastards)

now...

i mentioned how it would be crucial for nintendo to come out before thanksgiving, and this guy tried to tell me that to release before thanksgiving would be stupid, that too much would be going on etc. I told him that the biggest shopping day of the year is the day after thanksgiving, and that would be an ideal time to be on the market; he didn't listen etc.

on top of all that madness my friend (who doesn't really know what he's talking about, he just likes to try and prove me wrong) jumps on the EB clerk's side of the arguement

now, what i'm asking all of you is, have i gone mad?
or are those two just fing morons?

^ im  not so sure that the CIA would get anything from it; we all know how well they handled the info pre- Sept. 11th

and then there are those WMDs . . .

all i want is a true 3d adventure RPG, Zelda esque, with one giant world . . . and i want to be able to see a rhyhorn charging my punk ass from across the dungeon and have time to run away, but if i can't elude him he should be able to hurt me.

now if i didnt try to run away, or started running but realized that i was about to get reamed, i should be able to press A and whip out my pocket monster .

great game

574
they could have

look/turn on the touchscreen  (it may be easier to maintain a firm hold on the system if you just use your thumb instead of the stylus)
forward/back/sidestep on the d-pad
weapon selection/jump etc. on the face buttons
L is fire
R is morphball (or missles or another fire button; morphball can be on the face buttons)

i dont really know how to have the morphball controls; maybe utilize the touchscreen (like in the rolling pacman game)

and of course, include a mirrored control scheme for those left handed freaks

am i missing anything?

Nintendo never specified a Novemeber release, IIRC, but to capitalize on the Christmas sales, they should release the DS before Thanksgiving
