Nintendo Gaming / Wave Race Wii ...
« on: July 18, 2009, 12:03:27 AM »
With Wii Sports Resort having a mode that is very similar to Wave Race, do you actually want Nintendo to make a version of that franchise for the Wii ??

My vision for Wave Race Wii:

8 playeer online mode with wiispeak , 2 player split-screen including competing vs online ,  Mii integration, dozens of levels, and uses forecast channel for weather conditions. Just for casual gamers it will have 'casual gamer' difficulty setting right off the bat or ' hardcore gamer' difficulty to pick from, ability to use gamecube, or classic controller, or Wii motion plus wii sports resort controls.

I totally buy that.

i tried to play MASTER QUEST 00T at the start of the summer and the ugly textures just put me out of the game. It's hard for me to play that game now.  :-\

are you guys doing MASTER QUEST Version, off the n64, off the virtual console or off the GAMECUBE COLLECTORS DISK ?

Weiner to the face !  ;D LOL

I'm going to try all the games. It seems that everyone hates cycling , Kayaking is only fun with 4 players and basketball isn't as tight as it should be.

I am mainly going to play Sword play, Airplane, Table tennis and motorboat one. I bought Wave Race Blue Storm as my launch game for GAMECUBE back in the day. I screamed at it but yet I still enjoyed it. I doubt this game has the same amazing and awful ' random water ' that blue storm had.

Game Trailers has a review up:

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-wii-sports/52930

  8.6

They contradict IGN and they don't like sword play. hmmmm

I'm not even sure how to rate a game like Wii Sports Resort just like I wasn't sure with Wii Sports.

That's different . That was a free game.

This I say grade all the sports individually and the total score is a combination of how all of them are.
Keep in mind how the controls work, and if its something you will come back to or only play a little.

IGN has its review up:

7.7

Not a bad score. It's sad that no online play since I have been enjoying it so much with Conduit . Oh well it should be tons of fun next sunday

KISS YOUR WII GOODBYE, HACKORS

My guess is that the punch out download will be all but impossible for hackers because it will require a major firmware update. So they will be out of luck I thinks.

When I can't find anyone on regional during the day, I give Worldwide a go.

Since it is now out in Europe and Australia they are eager noobs online. 2 random games I won in worldwide without much if any lag. I played today and they got much better, oh well.

it was cool. I was playing online worldwide conduit last night and suddenly my Wii turned all blue. it was 12am so it was bright.

I updated it without hesitation. I don't hack stuff and am legit so its all good.

It said that the update was to fix overall performance and not to really do anything outside of deleting cracked saved files stuff.

Japan got a new version of Nintendo channel so we might be getting that soon. Maybe this update helps to make Wii motion plus work better ?? who knows.

1st of all saying this BEFORE you release the 2nd game is just damning that game to failure.

Why should I buy that game when i know for a fact that the story will continue on a game console I don't own.

2nd the game might work with Natal or PS3 wand thingy but it won't be the same.

What about all the people who supported your game on Wii ? is that audience worthless to you.

3rd why would PS3 or 360 owners care about the 3rd game in a franchise if they can't play the 1st and 2nd game without owning a Wii. It would be like releasing God of War 3 on MAC . The Mac audience might be happy to get the game, but without being able to play the first 2 games it doesn't make much sense story wise.

Do they plan to re-release NMH and Desperate Struggle on those consoles as well. If so that's going to be allot of money needed and potentially they might not care. 360 and PS3 have plenty of its own exclusives, so this might bomb on those consoles .

I guess business wise it's a good idea to get a bigger market, but what ever happened respecting the audience.

I wish I as a Platinum member could get the calendar!

I really don't know what I will pick...

I wish that gift was for gold members and given to all platinum members regardless what they picked.
Anyone want to sell me their hat or calendar? :)
How much are you offering for the Mario hat?

You can't buy the download from somebody else.

Sure you can.  You get a download code on a piece of paper.  It's not linked to your Wii or your Club Nintendo account in any way.  Why can't you sell it?
Are you sure about that? If that's the case then this is a difficult decision... Which one will be worth more?

My guess is this will work the same way that " Wii Speak Channel " works.
Only people with Wii Speak can download that channel. The get a code inside the package of the Wii Speak. So my guess Nintendo will email people the code and only x amount of codes will exist.

Watch this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Aahr0tzKtc

That seems the mostly likely way to get the download.

I see a little Wifi logo on the box art. is that a mistake ?

it should have " wii motion plus support" logo on the box. It's disgusting that a game that would so easily be enhanced by that, does not use it 4 months after it's release.

Since I was under the impression that the Punch Out game was a flash game that you played at the site I went with the Mario Hat instead and it also told me that it would be shipped in November 1. Very weird that they would wait THAT long to send an order.

my thoughts exactly.

My guess is they need time to make a big order .

This is a hard decision, If the game doesn't have much content i wont really feel compelled to get it. On the other hand, a hat, come-on Nintendo.

Seriously... Punchout DLC I might play once.... or a hat that will get put in a box in a closet.
I would have preferred a $20 off the Nintendo game of my choice coupon or Tennis & Boxing DLC for WSR or something other than what they did offer.

If I were Nintendo, I would have seriously just given out a Wii Points Card. Its Simple and something we all want.

I would rather be able to trade in coins to get Wii points cards like they used to do in Europe.
