Actually I always liked Raccoon Mario better than Tanooki Mario.

Besides, since Animal Crossing this is what I associate with tanukis: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=169

I really like how if you hold down SELECT or START while you launch a Game Boy Virtual Console game, it shows a Game Boy frame around the image.  Also, holding L + R and pressing Y lets you swap between grayscale (Game Boy pocket!) or green (original Game Boy!) color schemes.

I tried to update twice at lunch, even though it'll probably be worse to know it's in my backpack with the new update and I can't play it.  Oh well, at least I'll get to watch the OK-Go video one last time.  :(

The firmware on a 3DS is an operating system.  It provides standard features that games can use, and continues to run in the background so applications can multitask.  While that doesn't tell us exactly why Ridge Racer is being affected, apparently it was doing something that was okay in the original firmware but with the new features of the new firmware it causes a conflict.

The 2.0.0_U update enables automatic system updates, so the mid-month update to fix Ridge Racer should be automatically applied once it's available.

I always really wanted Fortified Zone but we couldn't afford many games back then.  Now's my chance!  :D

OMG!  Miyamoto's new hobby is living in France... that means we'll get a new France game soon!

I've actually passed three or four people in the big cafeteria at the corporate office I work at.  That's been a pleasant surprise!  I haven't met anyone twice yet, though.

Great, but the question is, how did you import it?

I took a photo and some videos from my 3D camcorder and nothing... although the 3DS Music software will play back the audio from the videos.  :)

Nintendo Gaming / Re: 3DS Mii Maker
« on: March 27, 2011, 06:00:54 PM »
I got everything as close as possible to my Wii's Mii as I could, then for the last bits I saved images of each one and swapped the images back and forth on my computer.  I was impressed how close I'd got, and just had to tweak some positioning.  You can vertically squish parts in the 3DS and that's why I couldn't get the eyes right... they were slightly compressed and it looked like I'd somehow managed to get the angle slightly different.

That let me fix things up and when I exported a new image, I'd lined them up perfectly!  :D

I certainly would have been surprised if there had been any Nintendo 3DS content in Pokémon Black and White.  It's a bit of a shame, but at least we know for sure.  Pokémon release rumors are vicious swirls of fantasy and wish-fulfillment enough as it is.  :)

DLNA is a industry standard for sharing media, so your computer or network-attached hard drive can sort of "advertise" itself as a media player and advertise the movies/pictures/songs it has stored, and then a DLNA-compliant playback device like a newer Blu-Ray player, TV, or a settop box like a WD TV Live can autmatically show a list of what's on the computer or harddrive.

Basically it means playing files from a computer on your TV across your network is really easy.

Not to mention that Nintendo always launches on Sundays in the US, so between that and the vastly lower price I think I can live three days.  Besides, I can't pick up a preorder before work on Fridays, so at least Sunday I'll have the entire day to play with my new toy!  :)

This isn't the first time they produced a warning.  The Virtual Boy came with the same warning (and Red Alarm had pause screen between levels), and if I recall correctly, the recommended age limit was 7 or 8 and up back then.  This is just Nintendo being responsible as usual.

It was released last week in North America and last December in Europe. Oddly they have different publishers here in North America. DTP Young Entertainment published Volume 2, but Engine Software published Volume 1.

Yes, surely a sign of quality if ever there was one.

Actually, yes, Rock Band 3 supports this just like Rock Band 2 did.  Fortunately, RB3 also supports SDHC cards whereas RB2 did not.

I use the startup warning screens as flashlights all the time when I don't use my phone.

If My Planetarium is anything like Celestia or Stellarium (both excellent Free Software applications available for Windows, Mac, and Linux) then that might actually be worth it.  I'll wait to see some screenshots though.
