Hey All,

Geometry Wars Wii is now $16.96 at Circuit City.  I'm not even a "shooter" fan, and I HIGHLY recommend this title!

Note - The DS version is also the same price but I'd strongly advise against its.  Its a bit awkward and slow.

Looks like GoNintendo may have officially been offended.  Just checked their website and there is no link to RFN 101 to be found.  No loss.

I've listed to The Wiire a couple times too.  Nice guys, well organized, but man o man, so utterly boring.  Shoot yourself in the leg kind of boring.

Rex Grossman (warning: not worksafe)

The pic just about sums it all up, sadly.

Devin Hester, you are ridiculous!
[/quote]

Haha, that's awesome you know so much about the team!  I didn't think there was much passion for the NFL in UK, and the game over there last year with Miami I'm sure didn't help much.

But yes, I"m a huge Bear fan as well having grown up in the midwest.  Here's to Rex somehow getting his mojo back this year!!

The NFL's my area of expertise, as we actually get to see that over here on TV. My knowledge of college football is mostly limited to the aspects of it that relate to the NFL, so I doubt I outrank any of my RFN colleagues in that regard actually.

Awesome, this means you've witnessed the amazing feats of Devin Hester, the man who single handedly took the Bears to the Super Bowl in 2006!

Wow!  How does Greg know more about College Football than the rest of the RFN staff??  Hilarious!

Anyone who doesn't like Tetris multi-player, you need to play Tetris DS with 10 players.  It kicks butt. ;)

I'll take on 6 people in Wii Ware Tetris, and I'll use the balance board.

I'll take on 8 with the balance board and wii wheel!

And my girlfriend routinely kicks my ass at this game...
I actually want to offer a call to any male who has a female family member or girlfriend or wife that is not good at this game (at least after playing it for a while) because I do not believe such a person exists.

Yup, my wife destroys me every time, and I always destroy her in Tetris.  I think it has somthing to do w/ the colors, she's a great artist, and perhaps she's quicker to spot color patterns.

Since earning his M.D. in 1990, Mario has always provided sharp commentary on the over-medication of modern society.  The Dr. Mario series continues to warn us about the dangers of hypochondria by depicting the futile application of more and more drugs, at ever increasing rates, to apparently harmless microbes.  In the end, it is not the virus that kills us but rather the accumulation of incorrectly prescribed pills.  Clearly, the venerable Dr. Mario franchise is a scathingly effective satire of medical malpractice.

This is the best opening paragraph in the history of video game reviews.  Congratulations, sir!

Yes, the opening hooked me as well, which is rare in a game review.  Never looked at the game that way, well stated!

I agree with this score, if it were not for the fact that my wife loves destroying me in this game, it'd be a total loss, as the one player mode is pretty lifeless.

While the graphics and gameplay are still too early to judge, one thing we can all agree on is the terrible name.  SpyBorgs?  Really?  How about "SpyBob" or even "SpyBarge"??

What does "Borg" even mean, well, according to dictionary.com:

American Heritage Dictionary -
Borg      (bôrg)  Pronunciation Key
Swedish tennis player who won five consecutive Wimbledon championships (1976-1980).

On second thought, a game about Swedish tennis players would actually be pretty cool.  Guess I was wrong afterall!

Hey All, I'm fortunate enough to be able to listen to my ipod at work, and thus have a lot of time for podcasts.  I was just curious what your favorites are so maybe we can all find some new shows we didn't know about.  Obviously, Radio Free Nintendo goes w/o saying, but a few others I listen to are:

- This American Life - Radio show w/ random stories about Americans
- Game Theory - Game podcast about the business side of the industry
- ESPN Mike and Mike - Sports commentary
- IGN Tech Fetish - A surprisingly well put together show about all things tech
- Jardo's Electro Sessions - A two hour mix of electronica and funk
- WNYC's Radio Lab - Radio show that investigates random questions about life.

Any suggestions?

Get it, you won't regret it!!  Especially if you're into electronic music, you can just pop in your own mix and loose yourself in a world of strange shapes and destruction.  It'll probably drop down to 20 any day now!

Oh, but don't get the DS version, its just not the same.

They also call it a challenging, hardcore shooter.  Good luck, Kairon!

. I REALLY hope that someone takes this concept and improves on it 300 % because it's got promise at its core.

Somebody already did, its Geometry Wars for the Wii.  I've had the game for 6 months now and I'm still addicted!  I think its only 30 bucks now for those that don't have it.

Hey All,

If you want to try a demo of Protothea go to the website below.  Ubisoft released this as a PC game a few years ago, and has now ported it to wii ware.  Once you play it for 30 secs, you'll want no more, guaranteed.

Kairon, it is a game about popping pills, need I say more.

Everything makes sense now.

Another factor I believe is the fact that my wife is an artist.  She's able to spot color combos a lot faster than I.  Tetris however, is another story, I always win at that!

Protothea looks like it was squeezed out faster than a dog can squeeze one out while running. Don't waste your 10 dollar bill, hold out for Gyostarr.

Any predictions on the outcome??  I'm not a big fan of either team, but I think we'll see an exciting series.

I'm going to say Boston in 6 games.

Just got this last night, its pretty good.  So far my wife is destroying me, so if you're looking for a solid casual game, this may be it.
