107-106 Magic Win.
That last play was nail biting.

Yeah, glad I ended up catching the end.  I figured it would be a blow out after the 1st half.

Leaderboards would only get flooded by hacked scores like all previous leaderboard online Wii games.

Nonsense.  That's like saying we should ban online banking because it'll just end up flooded with hackers.

I recommend everyone take a listen to RFN #63 "What Makes a Game a 10/10".  Classic.

As someone who's played both games to death non stop the last 15 years, I can definitely say I LOVE this game.  However, in my book, a 10 is just too high.  I'd compare it to Mario Kart Wii.  I loved the game, but it was just more of the same.  In Mario Kart Wii and Punch Out Wii, there was just too much they could have done, and did not (unlike Smash Bros Wii).

The oversight of no online play, no online leader boards, no top 10 ten local leader boards, no classic support, and just 1 new character are serious missed opportunities in my book.  That said, I'd give the game an 8.5, which is a score that shows the game is great, but there are still a few things holding it back from perfection.

As someone who's not a huge fan of Smash Bros, I definitely felt like I got my $50 worth.  As someone who IS a huge fan of the Punch Out series, do I fell like the effort put in was worth my 50?  Not so much.

People will post videos, of course, but its a pain in the @ss.  In 2009, there is no excuse for lack of online leaderboards in a score or time chasing game.  Don't get me wrong, I still love the game, I just get urked when developers make such obvious oversights.

I just returned EA Active(re-bought at BB) and asked about the trade in deal. They take anything they still sell, and gamecube was accepted. So I'm gonna go back there later today with some backlogged games I will never get to

Good move.  As Punch Out is a game you can log tonz o time into.

As much as I dislike whoring myself to Gamestop they're offering 20% credit towards any trade ins for Punch Out.  I gave them three games I know I'll never play again, and walked out paying a cool $15 for Punch Out.

Also forgot to mention the lack of online leader boards.  Thats where this game really has its legs, going for faster times.  The lack of this feature is simple inexcusable.

- Lil Mac tires out from punching where as in the last version he tired from getting punched

I'm pretty sure that comes back from MTPO. You get tired when you throw a punch and it gets blocked.

Definitely.  And I'm sure thats why they reverted to it as this is more of a remake of the original rather than an iterative release.

Well the Lakers won game 1 by 2 points. Lakers lead the series 1-0.

My god, why was Anthony Carter in the game when it mattered most?  That dude is the one player on the nuggets that just doesn't belong.

Picked it up last night and I'm definitely hooked (no pun intended).  Here are some quick impressions thus far:

Loved
- Character animations, much more fluid than previous versions
- New ring for each circuit, keeps things fresh
- Combining stars together for one huge punch
- Sounds effects = AWESOME
- KO animations
- Defending the title, great addition

Annoying
- No classic controller support, I've got huge thumbs, and the Wiimote D pad is so tiny
- Only tracks your top time for each character instead of top ten as in the SNES version
- Motion controlled menus
- Lil Mac tires out from punching where as in the last version he tired from getting punched
- No rapid fire punching as in the last version

Any predictions on who is going to win their respective series.

I have the urge to make some adjustments, but I'll stick it out with my original picks.  Call me crazy, but I don't think Stern and his boys will get their dream match up of Kobe v LaBron:

Cav's over Magic in 6
Denver over La in 6

Denver over Cavs in 6

Here's my prediction:

Cav's over Atlanta in 4
Magic over Boston in 6

Denver does Dallas in 5
La beats Houston in 7

Cav's over Magic in 6
Denver over La in 6

Denver over Cavs in 6

Note - I will not be held liable for lost funds based on these picks.  But if you do win, I won't turn away any VC games gifted my way.

Damn, not too shabby!  Not only did I predict every winner correctly, but I nailed how long each series would go as well.  Only off by one game.  Had Magic over Boston in 6 instead of 7.  Basically, I RULE!!!

As much as I dislike Boston, I hope they win.  Watching them face Labron for a rematch will be far more interesting than the bland ole Magic.

Waggle can also remove you from the out of body experience some games have on you once you're really drawn in.  Most of the time, I just want to kick back and escape for awhile, waggle then becomes a constant irritation drawing me back to the real world.

You can't be serious.

And sell VJ2, it sucks.

Really?  I played the first level, and it seemed pretty interesting.  I'm guessing its the additional character you disdain.

Last copies of Alien Hominid

doh!  out of stock!  Oh wow, I probably shouldn't get it anyway, I have some many other GC games to finish, like Viewtiful Joe 1n2
but the 1st one is sooo hard I can't get past the 4th or 5th area.
I haven't even opened the second one yet.

haha, same here!  I'm stuck at the level you fly around in an airplane.  Looks great, hard as ###

except that it's really not a pain. at all. after 30 seconds it becomes natural.

Not for me.  My right hand can not handle more than 10 seconds of waggle, then its done for the night.
