Nintendo Gaming / Re: Official Wii Sales Thread

Man, I can't believe I still don't have Mario Kart DS.  Its still on that list after all these months.  The reason I don't have it yet is I didn't buy a DS until I'd been playing Mario Kart Wii for a year so I was a bit carted out, and at this point, I'd rather spend the cash on the Sega Cart.

MediaMonkey huh?  Looks interesting.  Downloading now.  You buy the gold version, or is the free one sufficient?

Oh man, so many commenter's on that Kotaku article are acting as if its the end of the world seeing Mario in a cloud suit.  Whats the big deal?  He's been wearing goofing suits for years!  Would a raccoon suit be more logical??  Man, people need to relax.  Besides, it looks pretty awesome.

Is this Ben Worthlessburger driving anyone else nuts?  All the talk is he must be suspended.  For what?  For rape?  If so, that's a light punishment, and utterly pathetic.  Or are they punishing him for giving the appearance of rape?  Well, that just doesn't make sense.  Anyone can be accused of rape.  If I was Rooney, the owner of the Steelers I'd ship his a$$ out.  The Steelers are arguably the best franchise in NFL history with the most Lombardi trophies, and that is bigger than Ben.  The dude is a sleezeball and the evidence from the last two years points to him abusing women.

One thing I do look forward to, you know some linebackers are going to completely drill this dude once the season starts.  Perhaps then, justice will be served.

On a lighter note.  I'm so happy for Brandon Marshall.  He is a true superstar, and I can't wait to watch him play with Miami.  Josh McDaniels really screwed him over and now he finally gets the money and team he deserves.  Its just a shame the Bears couldn't reunite him with Cutler.

1996 Jeep Cherokee Laredo
2006 Honda Civic

My first car though was older than me. A 1979 Chevette. Turd brown. Ran great until a tornado dropped a tree on it. And no. It wasn't parked near a trailer.

TalkBack / Re: Reggie: iPhone, iPad Won't Impact DS Business
« on: April 09, 2010, 12:58:37 AM »
Since I got the iPhone two years ago, I've rarely touched my ds and psp. I have great games for them but I never feel like lugging them around. And if I did, I rarely have more than five mins to play a game outside the house. This is why the iPhone is great for me. I've got a few simple games on there which are perfect for quick session. So yes, the iPhone does make an impact as I have no plans to buy the new handheld. The big question as how much. It all depends on Nintendo inventing something of high quality out of left field to get fence sitters lime me convinced we must have the new toy. That said I'm pretty excited to see the 3dds as there's always the possibility I'll get that Mario 64 type excitement.

I don't mind the lay out of the store so much but syncing is a real b*+€#. Especially when you have iTunes on a few devices then everything just goes to hell. I currently prefer Amazons store.

I think people can justify buying an iPhone more than they can justify a dedicated gaming system cause that's for children.

Plus the iphone is more convenient.  You don't have to decide to take it with you, and if so, which games to grab.  That is my issue with the DS and PSP, I never feel like lugging it around.  So this gen, I've spent the vast majority of my handheld gaming time with Iphone games that are not as good as the DS and PSP games I own but never play.

The iPad is even more of a decision, in terms of bringing it with you for the day.  That said, I don't think it'll beat out even the iPhone for portable gaming.  Even though I would love the new version of Geometry Wars with it.

So I've been looking for a Wavebird, so I can finally finish Sunshine, WaveRace, and Wind Waker (I missed the GCN era), and as most of you know, they're around $100 online.  I've tried a couple third party controllers and they both went to hell.  So, I stopped in a store call Play n Trade somewhat close to me, and found a used Wavebird, in good condition, for $32.  Not too bad.   I would highly recommend this store for anyone looking for accessories for all systems back to the NES.  They're game prices are just ok, but picking up systems and accessories at this place gets you some deals.  Check em out if they're in your area, here's the storefinder:
