I agree with stevey, I think it should still be up for discussion, just incase somebody comes up with a really cool idea.

Edit: I kinda like the back to school month, just because I am moving out to college on the 17.

The only problem is that all of the fanboys are gonna say NINTENDO STOLE THE CONFIG FROM SONY LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
even though sonys controller is so much like the SNES controller (by coincidence of course) *obvious sarcasm*

Edit: oh well, if they are gonna be idiots like that, then I say screw 'em

I remember they did kinda the same thing with Majora's Mask, but twighlight Princess is looking to be even better (fingers crossed)

A 3-D visor would not be too hard to make, they would simply have the veiw in each eye hole be slightly different, creating the illusion of depth.  Have you ever used an old fashioned stereopticon (sp?) it works the same way, so that technology has been around for a long time.

As for the video, it does look fake, but it could be a hastily put together teaser, and may still be in the works.  The text does remind me of the Twighlight Princess trailer "Swords will shatter; sheilds will break" (sorry if I got that wrong)  But the way the twighlight princess video used it was a million times cooler.

yeah, if this controller turns out to be nothing more than a modified GC controller, I will be very upset.  From the way Nintendo has been so secret lately, I suspect that they have something much better to reveal to us, and that leads me to further believe that this guy is fake.

I agree completely, this next generation is completely early, but nintendo is in no position to change that, Sony and Microsoft want to rush ahead, and Nintendo can either go with them or be left in the dust.

Even info that nintendo does leak out is usually misled.  Take for example the GBA 2--last year nintendo stated how the DS wasn't the sequel to the GBA and that a new GBA was coming next year--everyone assumed that Big N was coming with GBA2 but instead they're releasing the GBA micro .  Still no word on GBA2.

So far nintendo went from the GC lasting until 2008, to being the first to launch next generation in 2005, now to god only knows.

I think you missed my point Ymeegod, you said that you didn't understand why people were so excited when there was so little information released on the rev.  I think that just the fact that we know so little is the reason we are so excited, because:
1) that means that there is something neat that they are hiding from us
2) It is a lot of fun to speculate what that may be.

I never said in my post that I though Nintendo was trying to use hype to try to sell the rev, but all of this secrecy is causing a lot of hype among the nintendo fans at least, and that cant hurt.

Also, you can't blame Nintendo for the GC not lasting untill 2008 like they originally said.  With MS and Sony releasing their systems so soon, it would be suicide for Nintendo to wait that long to release the rev.

Edit: Gramatical (sp?) errors

That's just it, There is so much that Nintendo is still hiding from us that there has to be something really cool that they have up their sleeves, waiting for the right moment to reveal it so that it does not get copied like so much other stuff they have done in the past.  Hopefully, whatever it is lives up to all of the hype that is being generated.

WOW!!!  That is really cool information (I really hope it is true, but I will try not to get my hopes up).  This only fuels how much I desperatly want a revolution.  If it is true, it is no wonder why Nintendo is keeping the controller such a secret, all of the "depth mapping, haptic force feedback, weighted gyroscopes, a built-in mic and heat/cool sensors" are really amazing, but it makes me wonder what the price point for the controller would be.  As for Olimar on SSB, I wonder how that would be set up, would he get about 5 pikmin that would follow him around (ala ice climbers), or maybe pick them out of the ground and throw them at people.  Also, I hope all of the ways they would make it easier for developers would help get us some third parties (even if it hasnt in the past).

Fingers Crossed that all of this is true!!

D@MN THEM!!!!  I just got the option to unlock the planet Meteo, but I need 5000 Air, h2o, fire, and soil; 3000 Iron and zap; 2000 herb and zoo; 1000 glow and dark; and 5 Soul and Time!!!!   They're waving it in my face, TEASING ME!!!!  I'll get it though, eventually.

It took me a little while to figure this out my self.  The Rare metals are the ones that do not appear very often (EX Soul) if you get enouph meteos of each kind needed, you can fuse them to make one of these rare metals.

and yet, they have that commercial with people playing the PSP everywhere they go (The best  part is the person playing on a roller coaster, I would like to see someone try that one). They dont show the people searching for an electrical outlet all the time.

It seems kinda funny to me that the PSP has all of these great Capabilities, but they cant use them to their full potential because of the battery life. lol

I got it yesterday, it is really fun!!   and is very addictive, I have trouble putting it down.  If anyone is on the fence about it, GET IT!!!

Makes me wonder in the "uncensored" version, if they would allow the big f-word. (I can see some parents getting a little upset if they do)

I never said that we should only do obscure cartoons, I said that even a lot of the cartoons that are obscure are still shown on cartoon network really late at night.  The problem of only doing "obscure" cartoons is that there is no way to measure obscurity (is that a word?) so some cartoons like SMBSS are debatable.

PS My earlier post was a little confusing now that I look at it. sorry for the misunderstanding.

I love my DS, and I am glad I got it. I do admit I was a little worried with the original lineup, but it Mario 64 DS has occupied me for for the most part (got all 150 stars, needed to use Gamefaqs thought, couldnt find those d@mn last 3 castle secret stars!!!) along with Feel the Magic, Kirby CC, and GBA games.  With Meteos coming out and all of the other gems in the works, it just keeps getting better and better.

Edit: However I have also had the problem with scratches on the touch screen, what screen protector would you guys reccomend (if any)

thats a problem, even though they are obscure,  they still are showing a lot of the old cartoons on channels like cartoon network.  The only ones that arent, are the ones no one would recognize.  We could shorten it to just old cartoons.

General Gaming / RE: Sony's new strategy starting in September
« on: June 25, 2005, 07:00:02 PM »
Sony will start out strong just because they are sony.  I think before too long though, they are going to have to lose their arrogance, or it will destroy them (like hurt Nintendo back during the N64).  If (big if) that happens, then we will start to see more cutbacks in the games division.

I think that no matter what, Nintendo will have somewhat of the childish reputation when the revelution releases, the only thing they can do is to make all of the fanboys screaming OMGOMGOMG NINTENDO IS FOR BABIES eat their words after the rev has come out.

Edit: getting rid of the K-Word
