Yeah.....I wish it was invented by Nintendo too. I played that ninja game where you slap people that come from the sides, using the straw form my drink. The appeal to kids comes where I was just standing there sipping my drink, every now and then just moving my head from side to side, where the kids were jumping up and down, acting all mental.........what i find weird is that people blame NIntendo for being too kiddy, yet the PS2 appeals more to kids (*cough* Eye-toy*cough*), so why not let Sony handle kids while NIntendo and co do mature stuff?

Meh..................

Eye-toy is for kids.
It's fun for a while, but you get tired of it.

I thought it was something that interacted with EXISTING games. You know, pretend you hand is the gun in a First person shooter, actually act out the punches and kicks and jumps and sword swings in an action/adventure game. That would be totally kick ass....

If they are doing that already with games like 007 and stuff, then.................meh.

SONY SUX!

General Chat / RE: Official Terminator 3 Disscussion- AWWWWW Ya
« on: July 16, 2003, 11:35:11 PM »
OK, first of all, T3 was released in the US before Australia (July 2 in the US, July 17 here). I just saw it with a friend.

This is what I think:

In T1, John Conner is probably the child of ANOTHER man. He then becomes the leader of the human resistance in the future when the machines take over. Finding out the machines have sent a Terminator (T1 Arnie) back through time to kill his mother, Kyle Reese, being John's best soldier, is also sent back through time, to protect Sarah. He then becomes John's NEW father, and John is now brought up knowing he will lead the humans.

SkyNet is a virus-destroying program that has it's own AI (as seen in T3). I thought, from T1 and T2, that it was a company that creates AI for machines. I guess it isn't.

In T1 and T2, Judgment Day comes in August 1997. The chip and arm (found from T1 in the factory) Miles Dyson uses for his research speeds it up, but J-Day still comes in 1997. Because Sarah, John and "T2 Arnie" destroy CyberDyne, research is set back, and the new date for Judgment Day is whenever T3 is set (2003?).

In T3, John says that he meets Catherine's father the day after they make out in that basement, and would therefore know about the Shelter and how to fight the machines. In T2, "T2 Arnie" comes back in time, and 'cancels' that meeting, and the new meeting date is in T3 at the Military Compound. John and Catherine would have gone into the Fallout Shelter at Crystal Peak anyway and helped the humans anyway.

The T-X is sent back through time to kill John Conner. Her side missions in getting to Conner is to kill his lieutenents, so if she fails to kill COnner, he will at least have no lieutenents to help him. After John is terminated by "T3 Arnie" in the future, "T3 Arnie" is captured by the humans, and is programmed by Catherine to protect John in the past.

There is no way to stop Judgement Day. It is the military's obsession with created AI defence systems that makes it happen, If research is interrupted, D-Day will only come at a later date.

In other words, out future is f**ked up

The creation of a T4 movie will only probably be based on the humans fighting the machines, and winning, but that is something we don't need to see.
If they make it around the humans winning the war, it will have to show Conner/Catherine sending Reese, "T2 Arnie", and "T3 Arnie" back through time.
T4 would therefore be one confusing mess, unless they base the war one some alternate dimension where none of the events of the past three movies ever happens.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: The N5

The COOLEST names out there so far, i think, are:
Nintendo Nexus <---------coolest
Nintendo 5 (or N5, or N [to the power of] 5)
Nintendo Megaton

How cool would it be if the next console was called 'Dolphin'?
I loved that name!

sorry, no tricks this year. I'm too scared to jump! I've only been snowboarding for two years (and by two years i mean only three days each year).
My cousin has been doing it for 8 years.....I'll put up a pic of him jumping, then crashing. Funny Sh*t.

btw, that half pipe at Perisher is looking mighty fine.......I'll be on that thing in around three years.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Consumerism as experience eg: GCN2 anticipation
« on: July 09, 2003, 12:25:36 AM »
I don't really care, as long as i can play Nintendo games on Nintendo systems.
The Gamecube, to me, is Nintendo's transitional console. The shorter lifespan made sure of that, but also the fact that the 'law' has always been that a console can't rule for more than two generations. Sony has proved  that rule wrong. So even though NIntendo had a very powerful system and the name brands to back it up, they still couldn't really get the hang of the market. So all that's  left a very awesome ad campaign ALL AROUND THE WORLD, not just America. I hope Sony doesn't rule three times.

This is all related to consumerism......in that the want for the most powerful, cool thing to be part of the crowd is the thinking that dominates the mind of consumers. That is why Pokemon was milked like hell, and why Harry Potter currently rules supreme. And it is why PS2 is the most popular, and maybe to a lesser extent Xbox.

The need to be 'cool' isn't why I buy things. I wanna look decent and up-to-date, but hell.....the last piece of clothing I bought was a white shirt from Paddy's Markets early this year, and the last pair of shoes I bought was in 2001. Go figure.

I want to experience new games......and if keeping the Gamecube for another 4 years does it, then fine. It's just the pressure of the other companies. But I don't mind. A new controller designed by Miyamoto will always rule.

I have none now. There was a period of two years when I had like 6 small pimples at a time, but that's about it.
My skin is just course from all the sun, sand, salt, snow and stuff. I love the beach and the snow.

I got Mario SUnshine today!
Yay! For 29 bucks as well!

And guess what the price was?
$99.95
I thought it was 50% off!

Goddamn!

Initial Gameplay report:
Meh, it's OK.
The camera should have been soo much better. I mean, seriously, how hard would it have been to put in Wind Waker's camera in Mario? And also, Isle Delphino doensn't have the same charm as the wackiness of the Mushroom Kingdom.... I mean, boss battles with Pirahna plants ALL THE TIME get kinda repetetive. I've opened up Gelato Beach already......I hope I'm not already halfway throught the game.
And is Mario going the way of Link? No dialogue? What the.....?
The only complaint I have about the game is just having to save EVERY bloody time you get a blue coin. Geez...

Other than that, a good game!
Look for my score when I finish it!

General Chat / RE: What is your favorite song?
« on: July 08, 2003, 01:00:37 AM »
i don't have ONE all time fave song.
I like songs from all over, mostly from top 40.
An artist would have to pump out an extremely good album for me to buy it.
In that case, there's Evanescence - Fallen, Robbie Williams - Swing When You're Winning (that's right, Swing, not Sing), and Queen - Greatest Hits.

My fave 'feel good' song, however, is 'Keep on Movin', and the 'Keep on Movin: Five-a-side Mix' remix by Five (the British pop boyband). Download it and listen....it's great.
