A properly working Karma system would forgo the negative aspects altogether. Instead you would simply have a "Like" or a "Report" button. Furthermore, the "Likes" would be on a per post basis, and displayed as such. You would only ever be able to "Like" any given post once. It actually wouldn't even hurt to show the users that "Liked" an individual post at that point, since the negative parallels wouldn't exist.

That said, I would like to sick the Forum Hitman upon TJ Spyke. He can never have enough minuses. :P

The Misses I travel about the country in an old school bus that I converted into an RV. It has purple and pink flames painted along the sides, with the words "Storm the Gaits" above. We usually have a livestock trailer in tow with my horse, Hoof-Hearted. I joust competitively, and the Misses sells handmade clothing and jewelry. We often times pick up hitchhikers when traveling from show to show, which usually leads to a brief ménage à trois. The bus doesn't have adequate plumbing, so we have to shower at camp grounds and truck stops. Hoof-Hearted's feces is saved up and routinely sold to local farmers as organic fertilizer.

Apple and iOS keeps things locked down and censored to a degree that TJ Spyke has been proven to appreciate.

You should have joined in with the 17,000+ others of us and helped fund Reaper's Kickstarter. It's been finished for a while now, but they're still allowing late-joiners to jump in through their website... at least for the rest of the week or so. It was one of the best laid out Kickstarters I've ever seen, and certainly a huge bargain.

Likewise, Stonehaven is still accepting pledges through PayPal for their "Dwarven Adventures Box Set".
Paymaster Games just began their "Going Native" fundraiser.

General Gaming / Re: PETA Games Using Nintendo Assets?

Sounds like when those daycares in Florida in the 80s were illegally using Disney characters in murals. Disney told them to stop, the daycares bitched and whined in public (even though they were clearly in the wrong), so Disney looked like the badguys for stopping a for-profit enterprise from stealing their IPs, and Universal (who had just recently opened up Universal Studios Orlando) gor free publicity by announcing that they would let the daycares use their IPs for free.

LMAO!!! ;D ;D ;D
Yep, nothing like rinky-dink daycare centers "stealing" from Disney by painting generic characters all around the place. Disney is about as unsympathetic as you can get when it comes to "creative" companies.

As far as PETA goes... they give the rest of us a bad name. They're loonies, with just enough truth sprinkled in to get some of the dumber activists to sign up. It'd be pretty hard to argue that Pokemon is anything more than glorified cockfighting though.

Battletoads for the music.
Quake for the real-time rendered demos playing behind the title menu.

Lawrence of Arabia is easily one of my favorite films of all time. Some historical inaccuracies notwithstanding, it's well worth the watch even today.

Iron Sky - Pretty darn entertaining. The pacing was a little odd though, and the quality of the special effects was uneven in places. It wasn't as great as I had hoped, but humorous enough to recommend. Sadly, it was less of a fish-out-of-water story than I had expected. The angle its humor took instead was still appreciated, though will probably turn off a lot of Americans.

Dark Shadows - Terribly mediocre, and probably rage inducing to anyone who grew up watching the show. I'm not even sure how I ended up watching this one. I haven't enjoyed anything either Burton or Depp has done in years. I was never a fan of the television show that it's based off of either. Though I suppose that's a good thing, since the film takes on more of a silly vibe than anything even resembling its brooding soap opera origins.

Unauthorized use of intellectual property. Your mom probably bought it at some Chinese import store.

Far Cry is an interesting choice, I guess it is open world, but it also has a level structure. Judges? Is Far Cry and open world game?

Think of the levels more as hubs. Each level is vast, open, and has multiple paths of advancement. Far Cry 2 even more so. ;)

Morrowind is better than all of those. ;)

The Far Cry series has always offered an open world setting as well. Usually much different from your typical urban decay.

Sometimes I let my body go a little too long. In those instances I usually use a pair of sheering scissors to thin everything down as much as possible. Then I apply Nair and let it work it's magic. Afterwards I'll hit any missed areas with a regular old razor. It goes without saying that there are some places where nothing but a razor goes... underarms, genital region, face, etc.

Maybe once we stop letting the cable companies write the laws, we can see such progress for distributed television. Really though, I get by just fine as a "cord cutter". I have a couple of set top boxes built up and a Netflix account. There are plenty of device options out there to buy nowadays as well. Boxee Box, Rokou, Google TV, etc. Television is dead, it just doesn't know it yet.

A little more on topic, I accidentally saw a band out at the pub last night. I later realized that they must have been scheduled there for a while, as I had seen their posters all over town. Their sound was a little raw, but surprisingly good for the genre... especially for this town's abysmal music scene. Anyway, I grabbed one of their flyers... their website is www.musicofeod.com. It looks like they have a few videos up on their YouTube account, it's just too bad the quality sucks.

Same with my general hatred of Limp Bizkit and Creed.  EVERYONE hates those bands now.

Wait right there! I know that there were some people that managed to trick themselves into liking Creed at one point or another, but I absolutely refuse to believe that anyone has ever done anything but hate Limp Bizkit.

Are you shocked that a group of people who exist to break the law would lie about where they get their stuff?

There are times when the people who break the law are more honest than the people who enforce the law, or the ones who made the law.

It sure doesn't take much to be less corrupt than the lawmakers and their enforcers.

I remember hearing that voice call on The Tonight Show. That is a good reason why movie theatres should not serve alcohol.

Alcohol had nothing to do with it, the woman is just a Texan.

The worse thing about this movie was that the whole team infighting thing just doesn't work. There isn't enough history between the characters. They are just openly belligerent to each other with no reason. There is just not enough time for everybody even with the simple plot.

I took it that Loki was messing with them to cause this to happen.

I didn't gleam that from the film's subtext at all. That could have been a decent enough excuse to explain it away though. Those tricky, chaotic gods...

They already are. Namely, I can actually do things with a keyboard.

Just got Rayman Origins at Best Buy for $10.  I'm moving to a new apartment with 3 other roommates, and this will be a great way to break the ice.  Too bad the Best Buy I went to didn't carry Rhythm Heaven Fever anymore (given the current $5), as we're all music students.

That's a great deal. Rayman Origins was super fun. Though I would hope you have already broken the ice with these people... y'know, since you're going to be living with them. :P
