 TIME FOR CHRONOS TWINS!

Oxygen's time-travelling adventure clocks on this autumn

July 31st 2007: Northamptonshire, UK: Oxygen Games™ today announces the early autumn release of its delightfully nostalgic retro platformer, Chronos Twins for Nintendo DS™.

Playing with the concept of time travel, Chronos Twins, sees the player in the driving-seat, as Nec – the last best hope for his planet - not only battles to save his world but also to avenge the death of his brother.

To successfully complete levels, players must initially use both screens simultaneously as s/he plays across two temporal dimensions (past and present) in a bid to meet (and defeat) the nameless entity head-on when it first appears on Nec’s homeworld. Manoeuvring through side-scrolling areas, the aim is to control both the present-time hero whilst exploring the planet’s past in order to conquer the alien threats.

Chronos Twins has been designed with a gradual learning curve, which enables the player to ease into the game. Once the player has progressed through a number of stages, the game becomes increasingly challenging, when both screens merge into one.

Chronos Twins, only on Nintendo DS™ is scheduled for release this autumn.

TalkBack / PREVIEWS: DK Jungle Climber

Donkey Kong returns to the jungle in the sequel to DK King of Swing.

First announced at E3 2006, DK Jungle Climber is almost ready to swing onto the DS. Developer Paon is once again bringing puzzle-platforming action to a handheld with the sequel to its own DK King of Swing for GBA.

DK Jungle Climber features a similar control scheme to its predecessor, which means your shoulder buttons will get a workout. On the ground, the L and R buttons make DK walk left and right. Press and release L and R together to make DK jump. In the air, DK can grab onto pegs and other grabbable objects with L and R; the two buttons control his left and right hand, respectively. After he grabs onto something, letting go of the shoulder button will propel DK in the direction he is facing. His charge attack from King of Swing — press and hold L and R, then release — also returns.

While the core gameplay is the same as DK King of Swing's, DK Jungle Climber introduces some new elements. This time, Diddy Kong can join DK on his adventure. After you break Diddy out of barrels scattered across the levels, you can fling him into enemies and breakable objects, and even spin him around DK. As for new level elements, a recent video shows a giant sunflower that bends back before springing DK high into the air.

Though there is no online multiplayer mode, DK Jungle Climber offers download play and local multiplayer, accommodating up to four players. Players can choose from Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Funky Kong to use in all-new multiplayer battles.

DK Jungle Climber is scheduled to launch in North America on September 10.

 DARTS' DECEMBER DEBUT ON WiiTM!

PDC World Championship Darts sequel launches Christmas 2007 and debuts on the WiiTM

Northamptonshire, UK. 10th July 2007. Pure Excitement. Pure Pressure. Pure Darts….Game On! Oxygen GamesTM is pleased to announce PDC World Championship Darts 2008 – the eagerly-anticipated sequel to its first-to-format darts title launched last Christmas.

The second instalment of the hugely successful PDC World Championship Darts game features more PDC players, improved physics, improved animations, more game modes, full career mode based on the real PDC season, and for the first time, the game will be available on the WiiTM.

“We are delighted to be able to release the sequel this year, especially as it’s now on the Wii", said Jim Scott, CEO of Oxygen Games. “We have worked really closely with the PDC to make this the most complete darts game ever, and the amount of new features in this title delivers a true-to-the-sport experience."

Whilst the PlayStation®2 and PC versions both feature improved control systems, the WiiTM version takes the game to another level: Players throw the dart by using the Wii remote to mimic a real darts throw, with the  on-screen dart responding to the timing and smoothness of the release, as well as the accuracy of the throw.

The use of the Wii remote also enhances the darts party games which are included in all versions of the game.

Set for release alongside the staging of the 2008 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, the sequel aims to bring something new to the countless loyal fans of the sport, as well as opening doors for the new gaming audience.

PDC World Championship Darts 2008 is scheduled for release on PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, PC and WiiTM in December 2007 - Game On!
