o_____O This must be those "games" that we never get. It's about time I opened my wallet to buy a good Nintendo game (I think the last one was F-Zero GX)

ToS comes out after I finish uni for good in Nov.  Awesome timing unless it gets pushed back.  I'm definitely getting it!  or maybe not to piss off Bill!

Would like to get some other games.  But. Do. Not. Have. The. Time.

So am I, even though I'll still be importing from the US <_<
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: nitsu niflheim on August 03, 2004, 06:54:58 AM
How much is $49 there, because Pokemon box when it was released here was only like $19.99 and only available through the Pokemon Store >=O.

Looks like Metroid Prime 2 and Paper Mario 2 are both going to be coming out in USA and Australia around the same time. ^__^  This way we can talk about it, hopefully.

How come everybody is getting to be a mod but me ;__;
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: Infernal Monkey on August 03, 2004, 06:19:11 PM
$50 AUD = $35 US. ;__;

Also, I'm down with Zoidy on the importing of (Sonic and) Tales. I don't know if I can wait four more months. Four more months + it'll be $100 (maybe even $110, two discs >_> ) + limited supply + grrr.
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: Uncle Rich AiAi on August 03, 2004, 08:48:56 PM
Limited supplies are a pain in the butt, but if you pre-order at EB or DVDCrave, there shouldn't be a problem.

October for Pikmin 2 ey? Which year I wonder?

But if those release dates hold up it 's looking pretty good for some quality hours being spent ignoring assignments and spending it on the Cube.

Title: RE:Release Dates

Ribbit King is also set for a September 3rd release. But it's being distributed by Atari, so yeah. Obscure game + GameCube = One copy for Australia.

(Second Sight's also being distributed by Atari, word of warning. It may be very hard to find on GC) =\

oh shi really? EB broke street date like what.
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: Mario on August 27, 2004, 06:06:49 PM
Heh, I don't think they really care about breaking the street dates of Nintendo games anymore, what's the worst thing that could happen to them, Nintendo stop letting EB sell their games? That's pretty unlikely considering EB is almost the only place you can get most new release Nintendo games.

But hey, i'm not complaining, I hope they break the street date for Pikmin 2! :rock:

blol, reminds me of when I got my local EB to "give me my freaking preorder" because my work already had it out. The manager (who's usually cool with stuff like that) got on the phone to someone, and proceeded to dob them in. Oh well. I got DD early ^_____^
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: nitsu niflheim on August 29, 2004, 09:59:36 AM
I sometimes get things before the official release day, I got my N64 before the official release, I've gotten several games the same day they came out, why is that worth mentioning, is that I haven't purchased a game in a brick and mortar store since Golden Sun came out.  So that means they were shipped to me before the actual date. ^__^

I probably won't get either straight away, that $100 is going towards Pikmin 2.

I've already preordered ToS!

My final final final exam I ever have to take is Nov 23th.  Should arrive in the mail just before then!
Title: RE:Release Dates

Hah! My last exam is on the 19th, well, until next year!!

But I'll be getting ToS and Paper Mario 2 as soon as they are out, because they'll probably be like a "Skies of Arcadia" release ;_____;
Title: RE: Release Dates

I can say after actually completeing both Paper Mario 2, and Tales of Symphonia, that your money will not be wasted on either.  Both are near perfect, fun games.
Title: RE:Release Dates

doubleposting up the joint
Just got holla'd by EB that ToS and PM2 are ready to be picked up - hopefully its the same everywhere

Next big release: Echoes
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: Mario on November 16, 2004, 01:07:03 AM
Bah, no money for PM2 or ToS ;_;

Hopefully i'll have enough money for MP2 though.

Oh yeah, I got Pikmin 2 , and Donkey Konga after looking EVERYWHERE for it, i found it at some obscure EB in the middle of nowhere (well not really middle of nowhere, but one where i've never been before).

DONT YOU WANT ME TO BUY YOUR GAMES NINTENDO? PAN PAN PAN

oh yeah has anyone heard ANYTHING about if/when Minish Cap will be available here? I hope NAL don't go all Kirby on us and release it in 2006, which would be a brilliant marketing move, they wouldn't want to cannibalise sales of NES Classics Zelda!
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: Aussie Ben PGC on November 16, 2004, 01:11:28 AM
The official word is that Nintendo "wanted to get it out for Christmas, but couldn't".  Pretty poor excuse, eh?
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: nitsu niflheim on November 16, 2004, 02:32:37 AM
I think its coming out in January here, I am also surprised about the lack of attention the game is getting.
Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: Infernal Monkey on November 16, 2004, 05:26:27 PM
NAL have way too much to handle, what with stuffing up the Donkey Konga release, plus PM2 and ToS are out now, both of which will be lucky to sell more than 20 copies. Plus there's those NES GBA Classics coming out tomorrow, wow! THEN there's the absolute stress of getting MP2 onto the shelves next month and Nintendo DS sometime next year! Oh and maybe we'll see a local release of Zelda Four Swords Adventure by the end of 2009!

NAL: We'd rather release Excitebike than Zelda Minish Cap.

Title: RE: Release Dates
Post by: Caillan on February 03, 2005, 06:18:33 PM
My EB has big boxes of Mario Tennis and claims it will be $9.95 with two games traded in. Are all they're deals constant around NZ and Australia? Luckily they also have half-price sales, so I can pick up two $20 games and trade them in for. They've also apparently got some sort of ephemeral DS.

Yep, I saw Mario Tennis in Target the other day after playing with the DS ladies. Oh wai-
I don't really feel like paying $100 for a sports game.

Mario: Minish Cap has been released, so I guess you can take it off the list. My dad's friend's uncle has a daughter who knew someone who went to school with Shigeru Miyamoto and she says that Four Swords will release on the 15th of April in Australia, if that helps.

Quote

That's a bloody good deal!

Yeah, especially if you just bought Luigi's Mansion for $20 and a friend offered to give you a crap game for free. I'm not particuarly impressed with Mario Tennis so far, but it's a sports game so I guess I'll be drawn in by its depth. Or something.

The great patron Monaco is distributing Japanese DSes to their underlings, without the hunters demo. So they're also providing a copy of Super Mario 64 DS. I don't really like the controls much, but I didn't play using one style for more than quater of an hour or so. The minigames, however, are extremely fun.

By the way my EB still have Mario Power Tennis as "coming soon". I don't think they're ever getting it.

Also, it seems like the GC version of Timesplitters 3 will not be released here.

Oh yeah, I managed to get a hold of a Nintendo Australia rep while I was at E3.  Most of the dates he mentioned are probably in that new NAL update, but here's what I got told:

Zelda GC: December
Animal Crossing/Mario Kart DS: November (not 100% about these, but they should be out by year's end)
Game Boy Micro: November

I specifically asked about Konga 2, and he said no date at this stage - unsure if releasing.  But if the Europe version is anything to go by, I'd say we'll be getting it soon after.
