Title: My gamecube won't work! Please help!

When I put the disk in and turn on the GC, the menu comes up. When i click, play the disk, it says there is no disk. Do i really have to send it in to get repaired, or is there something i can do? (It happens with all disks)

I am having the same problem, no disc read errors or anything of the sort, only the menu, it is like there isn't even a game in there. Any ideas would be appreciated, although I do plan on pulling the spindle tonight to check that out...... If this has happened to yours and you sent it off for a fix, how much did it cost??

have you guys tried cleaning them? spray windex on a q-tip, and be gentle. i do it all the time at work. (mainly on DVD players, but i've done cubes too) EDIT: make sure you let it dry for at least a few minutes. windex dries pretty quickly.
