I have vague memories of oatmeal, eating it early before going to Elementary school.  I wouldn't say they're fond memories, but they aren't bad ones either.  Oatmeal is neutral like that.

I like the oatmeal that has the dinosaur eggs that hatch after you pour the hot water in it. Maybe dinosaurs will jump start your love for oatmeal

I had some decent porridge the other day. I thought I was really hungry and had this guy make me a big bowl of it in exchange for me getting some milk, then after a few spoonfulls, I couldn't eat anymore. Pity, it was quite nice. So now I figure next time I have to spend a few days without food, I'll get this guy to make me some porridge, and I'll live a few non-hungry days on a tablespoon or two. Pretty clever, huh?

Oh, porridge can be pretty interesting if you mix the sugar in it and watch the fractals form. They're a lot clearer than the ones in corn flakes or coca pops.

I don't understand those instant porridge mixture thingies. Isn't porridge easy enough to make anyway?

I got free Uncle Toby's Porridge at the train station once, it came in a bag. Apparently it was 'Quick 'N' Easy'. But with the lack of milk on the train, it was not. I was absolutely crushed.

 How to Eat Oatmeal...
Title: RE:Mr. Quaker: A Sinking Ship

Oatmeal is the "kiddy" type of breakfast.  All the HARDCORE breakfast eaters eat Krispy Kreme and drink Starbucks.  I don't see why people would eat this "kiddy" oatmeal when you have things like the mature Krispy Kreme, oatmeal is doomed.

In case you guys didn't catch it, I was joking.  Krispy Kreme is symbolism to Sony with it's marketing ploys and horridness, and Starbucks is to Microsoft in that it's basically everywhere.  While oatmeal symbolizes Nintendo in that it's tried and true formula, although good, will always be there for us.  HOORAY FOR QUAKERS!!!

Kirspy Kreme is amazing for one or two doughnuts, but anymore and I can feel the onset of diabetes and heart disease.

But porridge, porridge is awesome.   I'm going to eat porridge for breakfast tomorrow.  Instant oatmeal does seem pretty silly, but if you're on the road, you can cook it without a pot or a stove!  I considered doing that on my vacation last month.

Krispy Kreme and Starbucks put lots of preservatives and stimulants into their foods, because adults ostensibly like them.  Why can't Quaker put more preservatives and stimulants into their oatmeal?  They need to grow up and aim at a more adult market.

Beacause people don't eat oatmeal so it wakes them up.  They eat it cause it tastes good, silly.

You know what this reminds me of?  Tasty wheat.  Did you ever have tasty wheat?  In my other life, I had dreams of it tasting like Tuna fish, or uhh...chicken.  But then again, everything tastes like chicken.

Alright, I've had enough of this, DrZoidberg.  You're a moderator, you set an example for new people that join these forums, but all you do is spam.  I know I'm not really the person to tell people to stop spamming, but seriously,  you've just become a uselsess spammer.  All you do is post garbage!  And if I was new to these forums and saw that the managers of them spammed up the joint, I would think that it's okay too.

And look at this thread!  It's about a user who's not interested in oatmeal, and it was sticky-fied.  Seriously, if the moderators actually did their jobs this thread would've been locked already. I can understand something like the comics thread, which actually turned into a discussion being saved, but we're on the third page (if you have 20 posts per page) and all there is DrZoidberg spamming and saying "You're the woman in the red dress."  For god's sake people, shape up!

It's mostly DrZoidberg spamming it up moderator style, but I believe SUPER is the original spamming mod, and now StikerObi is here with his new punk avatar saying, "I funny endorse this thread" when he should've locked it.

Honestly, if things don't get better I'm leaving forever.

Title: RE: Mr. Quaker: A Sinking Ship
Post by: KnowsNothing on July 10, 2004, 05:37:51 PM
Yeah, that just means you can talk about whatever's not allowed in the other sections, save for what's forbidden from EVERY section. (for more info, see the 'gerneal Chat Guidelines" which have so often been ignored. -__-).  That does NOT mean you can post random things that don't make any sense.  I suppose if you wanted to create a discussion of breakfast foods, however pointless as that may be, go ahead.  But I don't think any of us are interested in the fact that ib2kool4u912 doesnt really like oatmeal anymore.  And if a stupid breakfast food thread isn't enough, we get the mods here putting a sticky on it so that people can see how spammed up PGC is without having to search at all, and then DrZ coming in and telling Matt that's he's the one in the red dress.  What the hell does that mean?  What does that have to do with breakfast?  The simple reason that I had to ask myself that means that it is SPAM.  It is the definition of spam.

DrZ and SUPER are SPAMMERS, that's all there is too it, and they are NOT good role models to the new members, whcih is what the moderators should be.

God, Mario, you were voted the best poster! We should be expecting more out of you.  Of course, I don't think you really deserved to be the best poster, I never saw anything intelligent posted from you, at least not enough to earn any recognition is my books. I bet P|AC swayed the votes to give his best friend the award. -__-

Lies!

You expect me to post an intelligent post in an oatmeal parody thread? Maybe i've just given up sharing my intelligent mind with the PGC community that gives me so little back in return. I agree with you in a way, but not that I dislike the spam, that I dislike the inactivity and general boredom this forum has. It's just not worth it anymore.

Pft, if you guys want intelligent discussion you're not beyond creating some yourselves. It's no good to complain about lack of intelligent discussion and then refuse to start some on your own.

As for the mods, there's a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes, KN. Don't try to act all high and mighty and pretend like you're crusading against spam, especially when you're one of the largest propogators of it on this board yourself.

Yet another jumping on KN's bandwagon.

When I read that indeed I was a woman in a red dress, I was surprised that a mod would say that.  I then thought about and decided I could have some fun with it before I read what KN posted.  I agree with him wholeheartedly.

To me, it seems that it started with Bloodworth.  Not that he was doing anything bad, but when he would lock a topic, he would post a funny response, which were well appreciated.  Now that more people are becoming mods, they are trying to mimic what Bloodworth did well, and are only failing.

When I first read the title to this tread, I thought I saw a red folder next to it.  Rather than seeing it locked though, it was stickified.  I couldn't believe my eyes.

You tell them KnowsKnothing!
