I haven't been able to find an answer to this and you sound like the person who will be able to answer this.
Does the Zelda game come on a Gold Cartridge?

nope. both zelda and ice climbers (and i presume all of them) are classic Nintendo Grey. a nice change from the standard GBA black.

well I must say I'm pretty disapointed now, I was really hoping that Zelda would have come in a Gold Cartridge just like my old NES copy.
not sure if I'm going to buy any of the classic games, I was thinking of getting Zelda but now that I know its not a Gold Cartridge I don't think I'll get it. I have it for my NES and I have it on the Zelda Bonus Disc and Animal Crossing. So its kind of pointless to spend $20 on it.
Thanks for the Info.

I have all/most of the NES games worth anything on animal crossing. The ones I don't own on animal crossing I have for the old NES anyway. Not much point in forking over 30 bucks as far as I can see.

they are only $20

Oh, ok. Then I don't see forking away 20 bucks then.

If you aren't willing to put out 20 dollars to get a portable version of the Legend of Zelda, I'll be...err...very mad...

If I want to play Zelda on the go I'll play Link's Awakening DX which is about fifty billion times better. The original Zelda's okay for nostalgia but it's pretty dated. It's worth having a copy of in some format but unless it's like your favourite game ever there's no need to buy it twice.

Well. Okay. You can get err....very mad for all I care. Ian Sane is right, I own links awakening and it is ten times better than the original. There is no need to buy it twice.

I also agree that the games are a rip. Shame too, it was such a cool idea.

Wellll just so you all know... Circuit City is have a tubular sale starting wednesday of next week. All classic NES edition games will be 14.99 and the first 10 games purchased will come with a cool orange T-Shirt that says "Mario Bros. Plumbing" on it. Its pretty cool.... I haven't gotten mine yet cause the computer won't let me, but I have seen them.

When I want to play it on a trip, I don't feel like dragging my GC or NES with me...

20 bucks for those old games is a bit expensive, that's true. I wish they'd be like 10. But I couldn't resist and ordered Legend of Zelda, oh soooo many memories with that game, I had to buy it. Sheesh I'm so weak! lol

Well thats fine. I didn't say it was foolhardy for anyone else to buy these games, I just said that for me, it wasn't worth it to pay twice what the games are worth to buy them twice.

Yea, my Best Buy here is Mass. has them for 17.99 which isn't as bad as 20.00, but it's still alittle high.

I think it is a big scam, but now that I have just found out that Circuit City is selling them for 14.99 on Weds. with a free Mario T-Shirt, I might just go out and get one of the games.

I wish nintendo would concentrate on some new games for GBA, it would be such a wonderful way to have new games in old-school format, but all their attention seems to be focused on rehash after rehash and then reselling it for twice normal value on GBA. There have been only two mario adventure platforming games in the last 8 years for both n64 and Gamecube, and its time for some new blood.

I was also referring(if you read my post) to "Mario PLATFORMING ADVENTURE games" not games with mario characters plastered in them to sell well such as mario party. Another thing about these re-releases is that is just one game one cartridge with no bonuses or extras. Now if nintendo wanted to put 4 or 5 games on one cartridge or GCN disk for 30 bucks, then I would see the advantages there. Look what capcom is doing: 10 mega man games on one disk for thirty bucks which includes 6 NES games, 1 Super NES game, 1 playstation game and 2 arcade games. And nintendo wants us to pay 17 bucks a pop for just one game? Makes no sense to me.

WallOfDoom, carts are expensive to make, so that's where most of the cost is comming from. Yeah, they could have easily put the whole first series on one cart and slapped a $30 price tag on it, but Nintendo knows people will pay the full $20 for the game. The only downside to our Classic series is that they arn't as collectable as the Famicom Mini series. If we had the same bells and whistles at Japan got, I'd pry pick up the whole line, but as of now I'm only getting Zelda.

I'm torqued right off because Ice Climbers does NOT have a battery save for high scores.... I was gonna be buying them all, now I highly doubt I will be.

First off, Wall, I was responding to your wish for Ninty to "concentrate on some new games for GBA"...Those are all new games, correct?
"I feel compelled to mention that only one of those is a real game."
Say what? I'd love to hear an explanation on this...

The DS will have two Mario platformers, Mario 64x4 (maybe the same as 64, maybe new levels, since I don't have an N64 I don't care and will buy it regardless) and NEW Super Mario Bros., a sidescroller.

To anyone else with the Ice Climbers cart...
The closing comments in IGN's review go something like this...
"Ice Climber is a great game that holds its own 20 years later, and although it was given away in Animal Crossing and printed on inexpensive playing cards in e-Reader format, the addition of two player support and cartridge high score save is enough to recommend adding the Classic NES Series edition to anyone's classic collection."
It doesn't save my damn high score.... Is my cart defective? or is IGN stupid? Please answer NOW... =P =P

I retract my comments, Ice Climbers DOES actually have a batter save...you just have to tell it to save.. which i didn't realize.
By holding down L and R at the same time, a menu comes up that has that option.

"Who reads manuals anymore??"
Smart people who check the manual to find out how to save before freaking out over the lack of a save feature on a forum.

Ahahaha!
I always read my manuals before I play a game, but that's more from habit than anything...

Most of the time I read them, sometimes it just makes the mandatory tutorial more boring, though...

Yeah yeah, be mean to me... I don't think it was asking tooo much to assume that the game would automaticaly save high scores like every other game of its type.. I mean honestly, how many times have you had to specifically go into a menu to save your high score?

Well i was at my local gamestop and i buyed the legend of zelda for my gba, but then i started looking thru the gc games and found the zelda collectors edition for 29 bucks. After much thinking (NOT!) remembering the store clerck saying u have 7 days to return it, I return the gba copy, took out the gamestop card and payed like 7 more bucks for 3 more games and some other goodies this gc disc comes with. The disc didnt had any scrach and i think it was barely played, since im a zelda fan i think i got a nice deal, dont u agree?

Took me 20 minutes to figure out how to save in Zelda. By then I just read the manual, and found out that's it's not something most people would think of. You have press press Start, then hold up on the control pad and press Select. When I finally did it, I was like what the hell?

I use pocketNes and take it with me everywhere I go, I have every single NES game worth owning and they're all on one cart, although I did have to get the cart in hong kong....
