Why are many games announced as "____ killer"? I mean, Breed (truly awful game) as "Halo Killer", now this...

I think it's a cheesy marketing tactic to get people who are interested in the "killed" game to check out the "killer".  In my opinion, Project Gotham 2 is Xbox's GT4 killer, if anything is.

Nah cuz PGR2 is an arcade racer.  This new game is like GT4 because you can customize and tweek all kinds of things on the car and race it.  It is a racing sim.  Personally, I am not interested in them.  Some people are hardcore about it but we should wait and see.  By the way while we are on topic of "____ killer", anyone that thinks Killzone is  Halo killer is dumb.  Anyone that thinks it is a Halo 2 killer needs to have their @$$ beat.

Yeah, because we all know that Half-Life 2 will crush Halo 2 no matter what, Killzone will be left standing with nothing to do except bite its teeth out on HL2.

" Yeah, because we all know that Half-Life 2 will crush Halo 2 no matter what, Killzone will be left standing with nothing to do except bite its teeth out on HL2."

Unless Half Life 2 is on a CONSOLE, then IMO it aint killing chit.

coming to xbox like what.

Even though it won't be worth playing on anything other than PC (ofcourse i mean for the mods that will follow)

I forgot cubed, you have to use a KEYBOARD to play Half Life, thats such a horrible thing.  In terms of game value half life 2>killzone

You can use a joystick + mouse setup or, if you're insane, a gamepad. The PC offers the most options here.

Why cant some of you just accept the fact that not everyone wants to play games on their PC?

If HAlf Life 2 comes out for a console then I will buy iy, if not, I wont.

I can dig it, it's just i rekon it's better value on PC what with all the mods that inevitably come out, like Team Fortress, Day of Defeat, Counter Strike etc.

I also can see why people play on their PC's, value being a big point. I also have no problem with PC gamers or gaming, it just isnt for me.
My problem is when the PC players come into a console discussion and start spouting off about playing on a PC. If you prefer PC games, then god for you, just for the love of god stop pushing it.

PC gaming >>>>> console gaming

and if you happen to disagree, you are wrong.

i like my fps on consoles cuz they run good without any slowdown or ****** errors plus it just wouldnt feel right playing halo on pc cuz the xbox controller is great for fps's

and kdr_11k u r so wrong, half-life 2 looks very good but it will be lacking in things that halo 2 will have like fighting 20 enimies at once (maybe more) and co-op play plus some awsome vehicles and xbox live will jus overtake its gameplay and........... well i could go on but i cant be arsed lol

There isn't a single PC game out there worthy enough to lick the Moblin goo off of Link's boots...

"half-life 2 looks very good but it will be lacking in things that halo 2 will have like fighting 20 enimies at once (maybe more)"

Fighting lots of enemies is more annoying than fun...*points at Flood*

Half-life 2 DOES have vehicles...Half-life 2 WILL have online play, which will likely be free...

i think project gotham racing 2 has aleady beaten gt4 cuz its well amazing on xbox live and if sony doesnt do something to sort out the online games service then ps2 will go down big time, as for the gamecube lol dont even go there for online play lol

why does every one dis the flood??????? its so fun taking on hordes of them shooting them up - hope the flood return somehow in halo 2

yeah half-life 2 has got A VEHICLE which is a small 1 man buggy, well thats what i seen so far but as for halo 2 just look at the first game and the second has loads more plus a buggy with a cool rail gun type weapon

half-life 2 will easily be online but dont know what u mean by free cuz halo 2 will be free too and proly so much better with wide outdoor maps with vehicles to ride around on jus like the first when half-life 2 will proly be like counter-strike or team fortress classic well i dunno but halo 2 will be better but half-life 2 will proly sell way more

vixtro, in case you're living under a rock or fell for Microsoft's propaganda, the PS2 HAS online capabilities. They're free to use and I think they have a larger userbase and games catalogue than XBox Live.

HL2 will LIKELY have more than one vehicle, they just didn't show you the entire game already. And I doubt Halo 2 will be free (as in, no XBox Live fees) to play online.

Forza Motorsport looks like an awesome game. Easily one of the best lookin' racers in development right now. Hopefully it lives up to Microsoft's claims.

You didn't stop to think that perhaps Valve hasn't shown everything, eh?

In an attampt to bring this topic back on track.......

Here are two reviews for Forza Motorsport

TeamXbox Preview

IGN-Xbox Preview

They say that this game is even more realistic (physics-wise) than even GT4
Quote

This is one of the most accurate physics models we have ever seen in a racing game, even beating out GT. But this high degree of realism brings a high degree of difficulty. Sim fans will love it, but fans of arcade-style racers will curse with frustration. And they will curse often.

Hm, I wonder when physics will become so accurate that the polygon modeling used for games will cause problems (as in, the wheel can't roll because it's too blocky)...

when that day comes wheels in games will as smothe as u like

Yaah, I know you just use round collision boxes, but there ARE games where the blocky nature of the terrain interferes with the gameplay.
