Title: Hopefully a complete Lie
Post by: jasonditz on May 10, 2004, 05:39:31 AM
Spong claims that three sources have all implied that Shigeru Miyamoto is going to resign at E3.
Exactly who those sources are isn't clear, because Spong is the only site even mentioning this yet.

I think its a bunch of crap.
And if it is true then I don't think that he will move to another company but instead retire to spend more time with his familiy.
Good old shigsy, what a genious.

Spong is one of, if not, the WORST sources of gaming news on the web. Majority of there "news" is complete crap. They never have "sources", they just make it up on the spot, or someone says it on a forum and then it becomes news.
Myamoto is supposedly working on a GCN game or two, so I highly doubt he will retire any time soon.

Hopefully they forgot the last part of the sentence.
Shigeru Miyamoto is going to resign at E3... from his executive position so that he can go back to being a full time developer.
That would be great news. To me it seems that since Shiggy stopped working directly on games the quality of EAD's titles has slipped a fair bit.

What? Don't tell me MS offered Miyamoto a $100 million contract?

I think Shiggy must be as close as humanly possible to the point where money doesn't matter anymore. He always has been an artist and if MS bought him off he would have to leave all of his art behind. I assume a lot of you were just being sarcastic about how out there this story is, but if it is true, its got to be just a flat out retirment by him. There is no way he would leave the company he helped create.

lol....I was being sarcastic
I know Miyamoto would never work for MS. He's loyal to Ninty and has earned enough $$$$.

I figured as much, my note was more of a comment towards all the people out there who are probably thinking that.

He's going to become a hiphop artist. His debut CD "Gettin' Shiggy wit' it" is due out in November.

Didn't he resign from that position quite some time ago?
