Title: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai
Post by: Cerberus on February 07, 2003, 11:24:21 AM
The game from the PS2 is being ported to the Gamecube. I haven't played the PS2 version, but from my experience playing the SNES games I think I'll like them. What are your thoughts on this?

I was soooooooooo happy when I found this info out. When I played the PS2 version, I fell in love with it. The fighting style is awsome and thier is so much to do. Im am a huge DBZ fan and I was mad when I found out that it was coming only to PS2, but now that it is being ported to GameCube, im one of the happiest people in the world. Ahh, another step to the GameCube's perfection.

Yeah...this is good news. I owned the PS2 version and I can say it was pretty good. When I heard it was coming to GameCube, I sold the PS2 version to a friend. Now, hopefully, Infogrames will add to it. Maybe they'll finish the entire Dragon Ball Z series, instead of finishing after the Cell Games. I want Buu.

I loved the PS2 one, and plan to get this game. The only thing is, my Goku is totally badass with the "Breakthough" capsule! I'd have to start all over...

If its true, id like to see them improve it. Too many of the fighters shared the special moves. Also id love to see Buu as well..

I'd like to see Buu and have the block button not able to save you from the strongest of attacks like it does in the PS2 version. Of course we'll have to wait for Buu in the next DBZ game since there probably won't be any major changes in the GCN version.

Hey guys!!
I was wondering if the voices in the 1st Budokai game were in English or Japanese on the US release? (maybe you can switch between English and Jap'?). And if they're only in English, does the Jap' version have the original voices? Thanks!

the game is alright.....
you should just stick with the snes games.....they are alot better. Especially those special moves with goku or vegeta......sweet. Have you ever played the dbz rpg on snes, that is the best game with the dbz franchise period.
EDIT: some mispellings

This thread is cool because it proves AiAi did actually post here. Come back! ;__; Er, yeah anyway.. I'm not sure about the GameCube version, but the PS2 version featured the American voice actors in the NTSC version, and the Japanese girly voice actors in the PAL version.

which one super botuden 2 or something? That was good, but I like hyper demension the best. I don't know what its called, its only in japanese and its called DBZ RPG. It uses a semi card base battle menu. The one where you start out as goku and piccolo flying around the ocean. Then you meet raditz, and later vegeta. That game has everything you'd expect to see in a DBZ game, even people getting knock down into water.

Yeah, I meant Super Boutoden 2, it was the best one!!!! I know which rpg you're talking about: I think it was the first one on SNES, I'm not sure of the name either. (it can be found in English online called 'the legend of super-sayans' I think)

I'd like to go on record in saying the SNES did NOT have the best DBZ game. That title goes to PSOne with DBZ: Legends. GREAT game! Great I say!
Oh and to be more on topic (Cube wise), I hope DBZ Budokai 2 is ported to GCN ;x
