Title: RE: E3 List
Post by: Ian Sane on April 06, 2004, 02:17:33 PM
So that's 11 Cube games by my count which is insanely small.  I'm assuming more than that will be shown particularly when the Nintendo list is mostly GBA titles.  It's pretty much a fact that Paper Mario 2 and several other first party Cube games are going to be shown.  This list is very conservative in that it seems to only have confirmed titles.

Though I'm pretty pissed at seeing so many (PS2, Xbox) titles.  Why does the Cube always have to be the one who gets f*cked?  It's like if it's not an exclusive it isn't on the Cube.

Heh, Capcom has no Xbox games listed.  It's about time we weren't the odd man out.

Wind Waker 2 is what I am looking forward to. I just pray it is not on water. Other then that Paper Mario 2 looks great.

Well if its called Wind Waker 2 then it will probably use the same baton which means that it will use wind, and I can't really think of any other way to use wind.

What I'm pysched about is Metroid Prime 2. Oh man just thinking about it fills me up with anticipation.

"Well if its called Wind Waker 2"

It won't.  Unless Nintendo seriously wants to irritate the hardcore fans.  The naming convention is (aside from Zelda 2) "The Legend of Zelda: Unique Subtitle".  If they called it Wind Waker 2 I would be really annoyed at their lack of creativity.  Just call it "Second Zelda Game for Gamecube" if they're going to do that.  It would be followed by "Zelda Game for N5".

"The naming convention is (aside from Zelda 2) "The Legend of Zelda: Unique Subtitle""

Last I checked the real name for "Zelda 2" is The Legend of Zelda II: Adventures of Link...So though it has a II after it, the game still has a unique subtitle... ^_^

it was also the first sequal so they hadn't really devloped the whole subtitle things..actually it was fairly a new idea...most movies just had big numbers...

friday the 13th part 2......

Post by: - NintendoFan - on April 08, 2004, 11:38:43 AM
I doubt they are going to call it Wind Waker 2, it's just a tentive title like Zelda64, until we find out what the real name is.
Title: RE: E3 List
Post by: Rich on April 08, 2004, 09:22:22 PM
Yeah my mistake I'm just an idiot. But even if that is just a code name it gives us a clue that we will be using the baton again.
Title: RE: E3 List
Post by: - NintendoFan - on April 09, 2004, 03:04:55 AM
Yeah, I sure we will end up using it again, just like the Ocarina from Ocarina of Time to Majora's Mask. Although I would rather not have to.

Post by: Jale on April 09, 2004, 09:29:16 AM
I hope that the baton will be used less in the new game. Maybe Link takes it with him but it doesn't work outside the sea above hyrule.

Hey, guys, head over to IGN and check out the Big E3 List. Apparently Silicon Knights is already able to show their next project, which for me anything by SK is a good thing.

Snake, I know you started that thread in GC Discussion, and we all said it exists, but no one ever said that it will exist in the near future.  Maybe N5?

You should get rid of the SK game.   It's not on IGN's list as well.

Even if it was real, Silicon Knights could still have a Gamecube game in development- SK wasn't sold, like Rare was.

I think that there probably a Silicon Knights title that IGN knows about. I think that they took it off to make the insanity affect or whatever seem more realistic and frightening. Matt said in a mailbag that he was putting all the titles he knew for sure would be there. Apparently he was pretty sure a SK game would be there if he put it on there.

The lineup is looking pretty strong, and nintendo will most likely have some games there  that they havent mentioned yet.  I wish I could go to E3, maybe next year.   I cant wait to see more of Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4, and the sequel to Wind Waker.

Pre-E3: Takeshi Koizumi's Latest

according to gamerfeed.com, takeshi koizumi, co-director of super mario sunshine will have a new game on display at e3.  anyone heard any rumblings as to what it could be?  another mario sequal?  a new game of an already existing franchise?  something completely new?  yet another reason to get excited (you know, for those of you who needed another reason).

Hi everybody! This is my first post here although I have regularly visited these forums for years. I live in Finland and I have played (and loved) Nintendo games since early 90’s.

Director’s real name is Yoshiaki Koizumi and this is my theory for his new project:

+ Summer 2002: Yoshiaki Koizumi's team completes Super Mario Sunshine

+ Nintendo parts ways with Donkey Kong games developer Rare

+ Yoshiaki Koizumi's team starts a new project

+ Rumor: EAD is developing Donkey Kong game

+ 1,5 years development time

= Donkey Kong (platformer, GameCube) ready to be announced at E3 2004

Simple mathematics

Well that would make sense, it looks like Nintendo might focus on Donkey Kong during this E3, what with Donkey Kong Country 2 and Donkey Konga. Interesting...

OK, Cloud. . . Metroid Prime 2. . . the sequel to Metroid Prime is going to be shown at this E3. That is a NEW metroid game. It is a good thing. Secondly, The next Conker game will come out on Xbox only seeing as how Rare (the developer) is now owned by Microsoft.

And yeah, a Donkey Kong game would not suprise me in the least.

And the DK platformer isn't a rumor...Miyamoto confirmed it himself that one was in development a little more than a year back(along with a Yoshi game)

"A new Yoshi game is coming? Are you sure about that? That would be awesome."

Not if it's anything like Yoshi's Story.  I would love to see a new Cube 2D sidescroller staring Yoshi with the depth and challenge of Yoshi's Island.  Yoshi's Story however is one of the few truly kiddy titles Nintendo has ever made so if they go forward with that design they've lost one sale right here.

I did have Island in mind, since I have never played Story. Yoshi's Island was pretty good, and the GameCube could take the pastel sprite graphics of Island, to new heights.

I agree. Yoshi's Island is brilliant (a few months ago, I sat in my chair and finished it in a single sitting! It took me about 3 1/2 hours, but damn it was fun); one of my favourite games. Yoshi's Story was fun for a while, and the atmostphere it created I found to be remarkable, but in terms of gameplay, it's just a completely different game. The graphics of Story + the gameplay of Island = my favourite game ever.

I remember Miyamoto mentioning a DK adventure game and a Yoshi game, but does anyone remember if he specified the platform?

If you really think about it , nintendo tends to weed out the crap, there are alot of garbage games that nintendo tends to stay away from, but im willing to bet that when they dont endorse those companies they miss out on a few decent games, I would like to see software companies develop for the DS for more on the Picto Chat, things like that Imagine a game like Ink Link on DS, or a movie player, The DS seems to have a great deal of potential in my opinion, although the physical look of it wasn't the sexy sleek machine i was thinking of, it is still most likely the cheapest way for it to function right, nintendo takes that into mind, which makes them great. let it look mediocre but u won't have to charge the 47 gajillion for a psp, that looks like a keychain, nintendo keeps the consumer in mind.
