Post by: Nile Boogie on March 31, 2004, 05:35:09 AM

Nah not hot air balloon.
Dragon. With fire breath.

Link shall travel by a mighty giant PIG. On land it is a force to be reckoned with, and it has the ability to travel over water, much like the amphibious armored personnel carriers of the U.S. Marine Corps.

*cough* POLL *cough*
But since you asked, I say Epona. Yes, the horse Nile Boogie.

Not a poll or a question, just a statement. Hot air ballon just seems to fit in with the whole controlling the wind aspect. Besides, to my knowlege, Link has never flew, well anything to carry him from land to land.

This duck thingie flew/carried Link around in A Link to the Past.

Flying would be pretty cool. But I still want Epona to be in it. So how about Epona with wings? Epona can both go on land, and fly. That would be the best!

OK, great. Like Clash of the Titans.
And half-naked men engaging in mortal kombat with blue-screened claymation scorpions.
No way.

It was only a suggestion.

A flying horse....
Sounds good. Maybe you start off with a normal horse and then you get a scale from Valoo (or another dragon) and, like the Rito do when they get a scale from him, the horse grows wings.

I also had a thought of Link using a magical dragon. It starts off as his land transportation only being able to flutter in air and float on water. Then over time he can fly higher and swim lower underwater.

This dragon thing has already been talked about. Drink (click on) this magic potion to go to the thread where i speculated about the origin and background of dragons and possible controls.

No dragons. Yes, that would be cool for another Zelda game but in TWW he controls the wind. Dragons dont need wind to move but Hot Air Balloons do. That plus the fact that some mysterious force has turned the ocean into fire and Link...well neveryoumind. I just made all that stuff up.

I see your point, dragons do not need the wind. However one of the main annoyances with the sailing in WW was the fact that you had to change the wind. Using it in a puzzle-solving capacity was great, but having to use it to get around just irritated me. A hot air ballon seems too slow, therefore a dragon seems perfect.

The dragon wouldn't go very good with the Wind Waker. Maybe with a Zelda that isn't the sequel to the WW. A hot air balloon would make sense, but, I just don't see Link in a hot air balloon. I didn't really mind the boat. I sure hope there are others that did too.

I'm not thinking of a majestic glittering beast of a dragon. I'm talking about a mini valoo, with that unwieldy flapping motion and comical wings.

A hot air balloon would look very cool with the Wind Waker engine, but it would also be impractical. Maybe a cut-scene involving one? Or maybe not. I don't care what it is, as long as it gets me from point A to point B.

Hot air Balloon idea might work as a sort of town-to-town transportabtion system. It would have to be run by Tingle, of course.

Jale, aren't hot air ballons run by hot air?

I meant that the hot air balloon company would be run my Tingle. After all, he is always floating from a balloon.

He never actually goes anywhere though. He just sits up there drawing maps...

If we fused the King of Red Lions and Epona, we would get Mr. Ed -- a vehicular mammal that won't shutup. Tada!

In WW you could call him up any time you liked to any location! In MM he went all over drawing maps! He does get around!

What do you mean you could call him up to any location? Do you mean with the tingle device thingy? You couldn't actually "call him to any location" All he was able to do was talk to you...

Or a mushroom hat with propellers to go in certain direction. Link wears the hat and it gets bigger and you propel yourself in places.

Like I said before, I like this idea of a dragon on wich Link soars through the skies. It reminds me of The Secret of Mana (Flammie Rocks!). Someone should tell this to Shigeru Miyamoto...

i think the main transportaion device will be a hang glider esq device....hot air ballons are too boring and would make it seem like another gigantic boring area to roam... but a flying machine isnt fun without a good story is it?
how about this... a skull kid/ ganon type character comes and steals the wind waker forcing you to go on your flying machine to defeat a few dungeons at the villians bidding.... then a portion of the way throught the game you defeat the villian and claim the wind waker now letting you fly to explore and defeat the rest of the game....the mini main boss will be found to be controled by ganon...woohoo...the end

Where in the world would Link get a dragon!? I say he should have a cloud to fly around on, just think of it! Legend of Zelda: Nimbus Warrior! =)

What, you didn't play the Wind Waker? Valoo is a dragon, isn't he? I was thinking about Link finding more of Valoo's kind, and saved a baby dragon from a boss-monster. As a thank you, one of the dragons (maybe his daddy) offers to take Link werever he wants to go.

I like the hang-glider idea, my only problem is how would he take off. With a hot-air balloon there are weights to lift the balloon in and out of the air and then use the WW to change the wind direction. And I am 100% sure that Ganon will NOT be involed in the plot for WW2. Zelda games always follow the same formula. Ganon, No-Ganon, Ganon, No-Ganon and so forth. Ganon was the main boss of the previous game so no Ganon in the next one.
