last year it was N-SPACE and now its KUJU... it looks like NINTENDO is putting their money right instead of focusing all their money on 2nd party like they used to with RARE.
got CAMELOT, FACTOR 5, ALPHA DREAM, SKIP LTD, GENIOUS SONORITY... i wonder who is next.
im hoping they will get that team that made FOUR HORSEMAN OF THE APOCALYPSE.

Never heard of Kuju, but its pretty cool that they are still interested in the UK Game development scene. I just wish they fully bought out Factor 5 Why they dont do it already is beyond me....

Kuju doesn't exactly have a great track record or anything. I don't consider games like Reign of Fire or Fire Warrior (what are these guys pyros or something) to be classic titles. Of course N-Space's greatest claim to fame are Mary-Kate and Ashley games so who knows what Nintendo sees that we don't. I'm going to wait and see how both Kuju's and N-Space's games turn out.
Is it just me or is Kuju is REALLY f*cking stupid sounding name?

^^^ no, its not u... KUJU is a stupid name lol. both of them dont have the best track record to be really confident about them but i think NINTENDO sees what we didn't... maybe they could pull a GAME FREAK on us or ROCKSTAR NORTH or the old RAREWARE.

What about that Game Zero or Free Zero or whatever the heck its called that had members of Rare? We havent seen their super duper secret project either. I find it cool how Nintendo is grabbing up smaller indy type teams instead of huge teams... Sony is doing the same since they picked up Guerrilla games of Killzone fame

Silly developer announcements... Show me a game to spark my interest (meaning, give me a good reason to spend $$$ on whatever's coming).

If Nintendo gets 3DO to make a game for them they would have to mess'em up before they make a game. Look how Retro turned out.

The thing is that with Factor 5, they aren't really the best software developer, rather that they are better at the technical side. I would really like for them to make an original (adventure? action?) game of their own, rather than the bog-standard (to me anyway) Star Wars vehiclular games.
KUJU sounds like a great name! hahaha. I hope that reputation with Reign of Fire doesn't carry on to their Nintendo game.

like i was saying in anotehr thread factor 5 is quite talented bunch of programmers...their just not making my type of game.
Ian...not only did they make fire warrior and reign of fire...they also made fireblade...definitly pyros...maybe their making a game about some firegod...maybe its called Fire God....

ummmm, i think it is related... just follow this link to be sure what game im talking about
http://cube.ign.com/articles/389/389570p1.html
the weird thing is that when 3DO were selling all their franchises because they were bankrupt they didn't sell FOUR HORSEMAN... it just disappear for some reasong and its one of their biggest game coming out. maybe their was some major dealing behind the scene and keep it secret 'til E3 perhaps??? we just dont know.
OH about FACTOR 5... i think they are talented. i just dont why some people said other wise. if NINTENDO can take them under their wings, just look out. they will be even better. same thing with N SPACE and KUJU... they just all need guidance right now and NINTENDO is the best at it... they got RARE, RETRO, SILICON KNIGHT as the proof.
think about it "a good player can never be great without the guidance of a coach"

Yes Factor 5 are into the technical side. And thats why Nintendo needs them First Party. Who else is pushing the GCN to the limit?

Square and Retro.

hmmm retro does a good job...but square has barely got into the system...however final fantasy is beautiful..i dont think its pushing the system...i think square are just exceptional artists...but thats all that really matters as far as asthetics go.

How exactly did Square push the GCN? With Chrystal Chronicles? I love what Factor 5 does with the Cube, especially with their movie compresion technology and things like this. This is why Nintendo needs Factor 5

I'll tell you why: FFCC: medium-to-high-poly character models w/ hair/clothing physics, complex environment modeling (look at Alfitaria, and inside Moogle houses), fur rendering on characters and environments, detailed liquid refraction/reflection effects thanks to subtle bump-mapping, and LOTS of needless, yet accurate self-shadowing (this i'd say is a biggie) on the boat's sail, from cloud cover, from trees, and on characters. A lot of existing, previously featured technologies were efficiently employed at once while maintaining a stable 30fps framerate. I mention all these things aside from the game's artwork and particularly detailed texturing. Sure, Square has barely gotten into the system, but they did a lot of good things "right" on the first try.
The shifty "I hope I can be" 60fps framerate in Rebel Strike shows Factor5's 3D engine was asking for *too much* in various places, as was NST's engine in 1080*: Avalanche. These were game I thought were better off at 30fps instead of 60.
Movie compression is nothing new. Factor5 just had the good sense to apply DivX; it's the DivX team to thank for the high video quality.

speaking of pushing GCN to the limit... PRODUCTION STUDIO 4 is the king IMO. name a game that is better looking than RESIDENT EVIL 4 in GCN. in cell shaded area, only WIND WAKER can up stage VIEWTIFUL JOE.
for SQUARE's case, i didn't seen anything special in CRYSTAL CHRONICLES other than they are very good artist. fur shaded has been done by RARE with STARFOX so i wasn't blown by it. but then again, CC was there first game so... its pretty impressive. just like FACTOR 5 with ROUGE LEADER 2. keeping 60 fps with so many things going on the screen at thesame time, the polygon count is also up there. they finish the game in less than a year is screaming talent to me.

yeah ff had soem nice texture work and used soem effects liek fur shading effectively..ever since rare left i havnt seen a wink of fur shading...square made me happy...the other thing id like to note is that ffcc is an isometric game and if it were presented in 3d youd prolly see alot of physical flaws...but hey we didnt notice itsall good
