Title: Neat idea that's probably been thought of...
Post by: IceTech on March 15, 2004, 10:23:23 PM
I was just thinking about what a great (and semi-realistic idea) this would be. There are hundreds and thousands of NES and SNES games that cannot be bought from Nintendo anymore thus resulting in them not making any money. Most of these games are played on emulators and what not. What I was thinking is what if Nintendo developed some sort of Flash card that plugged into the GBA. You could hook it up to your computer and pay for games (from a massive library of every NES, SNES game) and download them on to the card. I guess there could be a piracy issue in this but they could try and make the card propriatary and not able to transfer files over to other cards. I don't know its just an idea that I think would be cool for us who don't want to use emulators and would like to play the games on the GBA or through a Game Boy Player. Let me know your thoughts why or why not this would ever work... thanks!

The big question is: If companies were interested in this to begin with, why aren't more of them offering PC downloads NOW?

it would be cool to be able to find and buy any game ever, legally, through some method like yours but the problem is that probably the vast vast majority of games sucked.
