Title: Confused about NGage games
Post by: Nimbus on February 13, 2004, 02:50:05 AM
Are the games so bad?
Like on gamespot, they give Red Faction 3.4, which is really bad, a must not buy.
Then on Ngage.ign.com they give that game a 7.1, which mean good but not great.

What explain these difference?

Um, differing opinions.  It's up to the reviewer's opinions when it comes to games.  I'd look up past reviews from those two reviewers and see which more correctly fits your opinions.

Its best to pick reviewers that always or most of the time match your taste in the type of games you like.  For me I agree with IGN most of the time and GSpot is little too demanding or strict on the reviews.  So its IGN for me.

GameRankings is probably the best place to get an "average" score for a game, and they have started covering N-gage games so its worth a look. They also link to the reviews so you can check their comments.

IGN's N-Gage site was sponsored by Nokia, I believe. When it opened it was pure hype, with no content whatsoever. IGN puts out consistently bad reviews anyway.

You could buy a PS2 and a copy of Red Faction for around the same as an N-Gage and its mutated version. Hmm.
