Nice...I really dig the download manager...
Though now I have to wait for new themes...
(Hmmm...My scroll bar seems to have disappeared as well...)

I can't get the freaking thing to start downloading. It just pretends to think that it is connecting to whatever it needs to connect to, but it does nothing. Makes me mad, maybe I should try again on my computer at home.

Yeah, the download wouldn't work for me at first, either...Just keep trying and you'll get through eventually...
(Ah, my scroll bar reappeared...Weird...)

I have a question: I'm pretty sure that this imports IE favorites, but will it import FIREBIRD favorites?
I remember I tried a newer version of Mozilla and I had my IE favs, but not the ones I added since I switched to Firebird.

It automatically imports them, KnowsNothing. I just installed it and it had all my old Firebird bookmarks. Now if I could just figure out how to get the thing to import my damn Opera bookmarks.

Where? That's a lie.......it doesn't have them. =\
Naw you wouldn't lie like that.....but where could they be?

It imports everything automatically, including options, favourites, etc.. Not sure what your problem is there.
Oh, and the new download manager is spiffy. Can't really say that I like the new name, though. Firebird sounded much better in my opinion.

You might want to check under "Profile Manager"
(Start folder --> All Programs --> Mozilla Firefox --> Profile manager)
Not sure if that's going to work, but you might as well give it a shot...

A reminder, make sure you disable all extensions in 0.7 (or earlier) before you install 0.8 or Firefox might not work right.

Well, I for one love it. It's a lot faster than 0.7. I'm also glad they fixed the issue with .wmv files not loading properly.
Only problem is that I didn't set it up right and it erased all my bookmarks and passwords. Damn it!. Lucky I had all that stuff backed up on a disk but I sill lost my most recent bookmarks and passwords. Oh well. Oh and the extension page is too busy to get on right now and I lost all of those as well.

I have the same problem, but mine's not coming back for some reason. Firebird 0.7 did the same thing, but my scroll bar eventually returned. I'm too lazy to check into it right now... thank God for scroll wheels!

One of the coolest features I just found is that if you double click on a typed address it will automatically take you to the website even if it isn't hyper linked. This is really nice for places like the gamefaqs.com boards where you can't hyper link. Instead of having to go through that whole process of copying and pasting you can just double click on it. Makes things a lot easier when there are multiple addresses.
I am having a bit of a problem though. For some reason my passwords won't show up when I click on the "View Saved Passwords..." thing in the options. The passwords do work I just can't see them. Kind of a pain when trying to remove old passwords since I have to do it in the signons.txt file. Anyone know how to fix this?

Yeah, I'm having random problems too. My back button disappears and only comes back with a full reboot, and I'm having problems with long drop-down menus.

I've read that changing the theme can fix that problem with the back button.

Yeah, I got a new theme, and it seems to be fine now. Also, I really dig having a Google bar.

The Google bar has been there for quite a long time, Bloodworth. I'm pretty sure it was added in around version 0.5 or 0.6.

Got Firefox a few hours ago, damn it's nice. I like having an actual installer, adding the reg entries was annoying. Also seems to be a little faster too.

Yeah, and the installer automatically imports stuff from firebird. Very very sweet. My firebird crashed constantly... I haven't had any issues with firefox yet. Ohh yeah.

Odd, I never had issue with Firebird crashing. But I'd have to say this browser has come a long way since I started usuing it at .4.

Firebird sometimes conflicted with windowblinds for whatver reasons causing it to crash once and a while. Haven't had that problem since FireFox, but it's only been a couple days.

Why the hell did it write over all my stuff then?

What firefox does is uses your existing profile. Your profile has all your preferences and favorites in it, and maybe you created a new one for FireFox so it doesn't have all that.
If so just go to the previous page to read how to change that (yeah it works, it was just a fluke with mine or something.....)
If that's not what you mean then I apologize.

Crap! I just realized that when it asked me to pick a profile the one shown was probably my Firebird one. For some stupid reason I deleted it to make my own. What makes this even more stupid is that you can rename the profiles meaning I didn't need to delete it to use my name. My only excuse is that I didn't realize that it was my Firebird one at the time and just assumed it was a new one.

Wow, thanks a lot. I totally would not have known about this for another year if you hadn't mentioned it. All hail MOZILlA!
EDIT: Does anyone know how to import favorites from Firebird?
