Title: What about Geist?
Post by: Metaphysical Spirit on February 07, 2004, 08:39:38 PM
I remember hearing about this game called Geist coming out for the GC, Has anyone else heard anymore about it recently? It was one of those projects Nintendo was working on to get attention from the "Mature Group" of kids. It was about being a spirit, and having the enviroment around you totally interactive, and to take over people's bodies you would have to find a way to scare them? I don't know to much about it really, but it really sounded different and interesting. Can anybody tell me more, and when it will be out? (Even as an Import)

The developer making the game, n-Space, is based in Orlando, so expect a North American release first- no need to import.

It will be out in 2004.
Nothing else is known about it now, that we didn't know last year at E3. The last info we got about it was almost a year ago now. You might have to wait until this years E3 for anymore details on it.

Tim from Cube-Europe played a beta during his visit to NoE. He said it's good.

I thought that this game had a really cool concept. Like there could be two different ways to accomlish goals, the physical way and the spirtual way. and I also believe that they promised the ability to takeover animals as well. There should be a bunch of unique puzzles as well, were you have to go through a vent to unlock something then take over someones body to finish the puzzle. There are so many possibilies with this game.

I just hope that there is a large number of organisms to possess...Having a limited number of options is the only thing that could hurt this concept...

Yeah I can see how they can make the concept a bright idea, but a dull concept... like what Bill was saying. Hah, and yes, I now go to Full Sail. A lot of people diss on Full Sail, but it really is a nice school that is just trying to work out all the flaws in the school.

Too often do great concepts get bogged down by sloppy execution. Case in point being Blinx- really interesting concept but it wasn't implemented well at all. Hopefully Geist does not suffer the same fate.

I know The Omen, I wasn't saying you were knocking it. Just a lot of people around here (For Example : Fullsailsucks.com) think it's a horrible school becuase what goes on in the school. I'm right with you on this Omen. After all, it's my school too.

N-space has done some crappy games in it's history, but I'm sure Nintendo won't let them release a bad game.( I'm just a little scared)
