Title: opinion: prince of persia, the sands of time
Post by: norebonomis on December 13, 2003, 09:44:11 AM
i just finished playing POP:SOT, my experiance with this game was very positive and i would like to know what other feel about it.
First of all i thought the story was great, how the creators have the two characters interact with each other through the game. i thoroughly enjoyed the combination of puzzles and action. i thought that the use of "visions" as instructions throughout the game was genius. "no no no, that's not how it happend, may i start again?" was also genius. allthough i encountered severl bugs and glitches. when in the birdcage level i found my self caught at a spot that no matter what i did i would get a gameover screen. quite annoying to begin the enitire game over again. but glitches aside. i would rate this game a 10
What does everyone else have to say about this title? and has anyone else experiance glitches?

This should have been posted in the 'Reader Reviews' section.
I have yet to play the game because I am getting it for Christmas, but I have heard good things about the game thus far.

IGN gave it a 9.6, but IGN is biased and un-trustworthy I don't know. I will probably look at either GamePro or gamers.com for their scores.

ok, let me get this straight. ign gave the game a very high score of 9.6, and they are biased? how does that make sense? I would think if they were biased the game would have recieved a low score.

IGN is biased sometimes but not all the time.

If the Prince was a Gamecube exclusive, it would be an 8.4 on IGN. They reallly have a stick up their arse about the Cube.

um each IGN site has different employees. IGNCube only reviews GC games, IGNPS2 only reviews PS2 games, how can they be biased to different consoles if each site is run by different employees?
I am very interested in POP simply because I get to look at what Persia looked like (modern day Iran) and how the buildings were back then/there. (i just studied history and art history in college) and its fascinating. Okay I also am interested because the story is good, graphics and gameplay are top notch too, and I played POP on Snes.

Haven't you read IGN Cube's stuff? And by that I mean, even they display N-hatred at times. Of course, their reviews are incensistent without bias anyway.

IGN cube is a bit shakey at times.
Anyway, why base something off one review from anyone? www.gamerankings.com averages scrores from every significant review out there, so their scores are bang on.
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/589720.asp
It's 94% there based of 16 reviews, so it's pretty high.
