Title: Anyone Here Using Warppipe? Need Help!
Post by: mjbd on December 13, 2003, 07:01:22 AM
Here is what I have: Gamecube Broadband adapter, Netgear 4 port hub, NYKO internet extender (wireless to get my DSL signal to my PC in the basement), and a PC using Windows XP. I have downloaded Warppipe, and have tried connecting with other users, but has not worked yet. It usually brings up a no response. Whats the deal? If there is anyone who has the time sometime later today to get on and try and help me get going, I would really appreciate it.

Have you checked your firewall settings?

Yes, I turned it off. Are you a warppipe user KDR_11k? If so, do you have a AOL IM?

I'm not sure if I completely understand your setup. Is your GC physically connected to your PC? If you don't already know, WP does not support wireless connections; the GC and a PC must be physically connected. Good luck...

But before you go out and buy a wired one, just wait for the final version after the beta to come out. I heard that everythings a lot easier, and they might add support for wireless. Plus, theres other LAN to online things you can use, like X-link, and gamespy, whenever they're coming out.

As an addendum to my previous post, wireless may work with a wireless bridge. Or, as mentioned, you can wait for the version 1.0 to come out that will hopefully support wireless. I bought an 802.11g router/pci card prior to its release. But since I decided I wanted to play asap, I bought a used Linksys 802.11b router ($30) and inconspicuously ran cabling from the pc to gc. Both the cable (100ft) and 802.11b router ended up costing less than the 802.11g pci card alone. Good luck...
