Title: DBZ Budokai 2?
Post by: Ghisy on December 02, 2003, 05:40:04 AM
Hey guys,
Since we got the first one on the GC, I was wondering if we're also gonna get the brand new one too. And if so, does anyone know when?? Thanks! Cyalata!

Maybe it's only exclusive for this year? so we might get it in 2004?? *fingers crossed* I wonder if I should get the first one, it looks okay but I tried it on PS2 at a friend's and the gameplay kinda sucked

If you dont like DBZ Budokai, you probably wont like the sequel. From what I have read in reviews, its a very shallow fighter, but is a gem to any DBZ fanatic. I am going to pick up Budokai next month. I really like DBZ, so even if it is a shallow fighter, I still get to fight as Goku and Vegeta. Plus, its only $30. Other developers should take note, if your going to release a game on Gamecube that you released on PS2 months ago, do so at a lower price.

Well, I loved the ones released on the SNES years ago (aaaaah Dragon Ball Z 2 was the best!!). The 1st Budokai is okay, but it doesn't look that great. So I might have skipped it and get the 2nd one instead. Now I'm wondering what to do...(no I ain't buying a g****mn PS2!! haha)

I really hope we do get DBZ: Budokai 2 on GCN. The first one was a pretty good game, nothing too great but still worth the $30 in my opinion.

I wouldn't count it out yet. This is Infogrames/Atari after all.
Same company who released Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee for the cube as "Only on Gamecubeā¢" before porting it over to the Xbox (probably the worst move they could have made, the people envolved actually expected the port to sell AS WELL as the GCN version, despite it being a port and the tastes of Xbox gamers not really going for a game like Godzilla). If the port of Budokai on GCN sells atleast decent it might have a shot of getting it.

Hehe, seems like I was right on this one, it's released this month in the US! But do any of you have any idea about the European version including the original Japanese voices like the first one??

IGN already has pictures of DBZ B2 on GCN in action, features a few things seen in the Japanese version only, and then some.

Why can't Capcom just make the DBZ game themselves?

Well Draygaia Dimps made the game in Japan and because of Funimations deal with Atari, Atari distributes and publishes the games in all regions except Japan(Bandai publishes and distributes in Japan).

The developer is Dimps, which are ex-SNK members.
Perhaps you recognise their work in Sonic Advance?
