And I believe the word you are looking for, PIAC, is etiquette...

Wow, five responses, and no one actually answered the question...
but anyway, i dont have rebel strike yet, but from what i've heard, it isnt as good as rogue leader. suposedly, the flying segments (which still make up the majority of the game) are as good as ever, but the on-foot segments are atrocious. nevertheless, i still plan on getting this game, its just a question of when.

Frankly, Rebel Strike has much more to do than Rogue Leader (places to see, things to kill) and to me makes it more "valuable" than Rogue Leader regardless of the iffy on-foot sequences; particulary considering Co-op. For me, the on-foot stuff are relaxing instances of laser-toting insanity in really cool settings, like Contra with funny characters and 1 kind of gun. I like this game.

Rebel Strike is terrible on so many levels I don't know where to begin, and this is coming from someone who enjoys most Star Wars games and really enjoyed Rogue Leader.
Some of the more obvious flaws include: * They rehashed the entire front end, even going so far as to use the same movie clips. * The control of both the speeder bike and the tantan was dreadful. * The on-foot missions are worse than what you have read. The control terribly, and are buggy as hell. I got stuck in a rock on the Dagobah level about 3 times in 10 minutes of playing. * Some of the on-foot animations can be described as placeholder at best. * When you are flying in a ship, the new, much talked about water system looks like a poorly mipmaped texture consisting of 3 shades of blue (read: terrible). * There is hideously obvious color banding on a couple of the ground levels. * Their new lighting system adds absolutely nothing to the game. * I walked through the entire game in 2 nights.
It is worth nothing that it wasn't all bad. The flying missions were as fun as ever, even if they did play exactly the same as the RL missions. Also, a few of the missions controlling AT-STs were cool.
My advice would be for everyone thinking about buying this game to rent it first. I thought it was so bad that I returned it, something I have not yet done this generation with any of the 50+ other PS2 / Xbox / GameCube games I own.
Chris.

Its not that bad. The ground missions are HORRIBLE but they do not take away from the overall experiance. The flying missions are still better than ever. If you loved the first one you'll absolutely love this one. I know I did. Plus the multiplayer stages are a blast.

Don't bother with this game. Why play a somewhat ok game when there are many that are much, much better?

No, more like Viewtiful Joe or Prince of Persia or the Zelda Collector's disc or BG&E or ROTK, to name but a few.

I actually thought on-foot missions were pretty good. People who are saying they are terrible are being a little too picky, I'm picky myself and I liked em so what gives. They're not perfect but they are so short and easy how can you complain about them. They don't hold up the game at all. Oh and the jumping animation is hilarious.

Hi! First post.
I decided to buy the GC because I wanted an inexpensive system that I could play the Simpsons and Star Wars games on. Mission accomplished. Now, about the Dantooine mission, where you're on that hoverbike shooting through a canyon... it's so dark in those canyons that I use up all three of my level lives just getting through it. Has anyone else found that level to be frustratingly dark?

Turn up the brightness on your TV. Or the game might even have a setting for it. I can't remember. I like playing it too though. The flying missions are easily on par with most any game out there nowadays. Like everyone said, its not like the on-foot missions are long or hard, they're more just transitions between other missions. Transitions full of me shooting hundreds of droids down and never getting hit meself.

Don't forget jumping around like a madman as if it were Duke Nukem 3D.

You know I bought a Sony WEGA last week, and you know what? I took it back and got a home theater system instead. The dark areas in movies and games like Metroid Prime became completely black no matter what I did to the visual settings. I couldn't see a lick of detail that I had seen clearly on my older TV. Until my TV starts showing clear problems, I'm just going to wait. The visual improvement isn't really worth it unless you're spending thousands on HDTV.

THIS GAME SUCKS DON'T BUY IT!!!
Ok yeah yeah, you may think I don't know what I am talking about, but there are several reasons why I don't like it, but also reasons why I like it.
- Yes the on foot missions suck. There are just so damn boring, all you do is like just rapidly fire your laser and lock on, it is so stupid + The graphics in some of the levels were really good - The flying missions were pretty crappy, now I have owned both previous rogues, and they are much better. Some of the levels in this game are stupid. Some of them all you do is lock on to targets with your missiles, and the missiles recharge. Which is stupid, and takes out any need for skill, because if you actually tried to use your lasers, it would take too long and your accuracy would be lower - also there weren't enough flying levels - the speeder bike levels were OK, but that was it, and they did move erratically - the missions against the star destroyers were stupid, we have already been there, and all we had to do was destroy stupid ion cannons? And flying in the star destroyer trench was a rehash alover again. - the extra levels sucked, they were so boring, and other rogue was better - the whole game was lame, why don't they use better dialoge? I forget the quote but your guy was saving another guy and when he saved him he made this lame ass remark which was stupid. - these games levels were so crappy, albeit the flying missions were slightly better, but this game was a complete rehash + the only good thing is the multiplayer because it is the old rogue game, but, if you are playing buy your self it sucks cause you can't play it
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I really wanted to like it, but it is so boring. I had no incling whatsoever to play the game over. My other rogues I played them to death and beat them both several times. But the levels in this game were so bad and stupid. I don't want to spoil the few good parts in theis game, but the bad definately outweighs the good. If you don't belive me, rent it first, and you to will realise how bad it is.
Factor 5 you should be disapointed in yourself. You spent too much time on the multiplayer and the rest of the game play suffered.(they said this was why no multi was found in the other rogues, but now they put multi in, and as a result the single player suffered.)
