Title: Xbox is tight, Yo
Post by: The Omen on October 21, 2003, 11:48:15 AM
Here's one: Puff 'P Diddy' Combs is now a celebrity spokesmen for Xbox. Read this statement, and you'll swear they're talking about the savior:
Quote P.Diddy was the perfect fit as our first celebrity voice because he embodies the same spirit as xbox". said xbox's director of brand marketing. Don Hall. 'He's multi faceted, has made a significant social impact, and pulls millions of people together in a positive way with his powerhouse talents"
LoL. Now Nintendo should go out and get the real talent, The Beastie Boys. They've said they liked Nintendo before, go get them.

Uh oh, I'm going to have to go get an Xbox now that P. Diddy is sponsoring it.
Actually, he should sponsor Gamecube, and they could dress him up in a Diddy Kony outfit

This actually causes me to dislike Xbox. I was kind of indifferent before, taking only occasional shots , but now, blec!

I think it is a sign of weakness to have to resort to celebrity prowess...

In that case, nintendo is pretty desperate with those celebrity bashes.

I didn't say that it was a sign of desperation...just that it's kind of sad to see companies(like Pepsi) resorting to star power to sell their products...(which Ninty hasn't done, at least from what I've seen...

THANK GOD. I thought The Omen had gone all lame on us from the thread title, and I was dreading coming in here and bashing him.
You make me proud Omen.

WOW! If they've got some no talent mainstream loser like P. Diddy, then it must be good! Dag, yo! QUICK, WHERE'S MY MONEY HAT? FAMOUS PEOPLE TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD SPEND MY MONEY ON!
*Buys 75 Xbox's yet doesn't know what a video game is*

P. Diddy who?

I thought The Rock was Xbox's celebrity spokesman. Oh well. Times change. Nintendo should use Christina Arguilera's hot ass bod to market GC2. Sex sells, so why not succumb to the power!

Who was promoting the hell out of Dreamcast back in its hayday? Fred Durst, was it?
Title: RE:Xbox is tight, Yo
Post by: The Omen on October 21, 2003, 08:10:19 PM
And who would've thought at that time that Durst would outlast Sega? Frightening times indeed...

Nintendo should use Hilary Duff.
Or Will Smith!

I agree, P.Diddy is exactly like the XBox: No quality, no content, a clone of others but strangely popular.

I didn't know that Puff Daddy was P. Diddy until about 3 months ago. I suppose I'm not like everyone else in my generation!

Actually, 50 cent is like Xbox fanboys, and Puff, like KDR said, is the system.

Okay, now that we know that the PS2 is in reality a PC and the XBox shares a lot with a rap star, doesn't that make us feel a lot better about having chosen the GC?

Nintendo should get some random bum off the street to be their "celebrity" image. . . it'd give a hobo money, and it'd be hilarious.

I have a GC and just recently (that is, next week) I purchased an Xbox. I have no allegiance(sp?), I have fun.

Allegiance does not mean you cant play other systems, theres just something in your heart that loves Nintendo more than any other

Just because I hate Microsoft doesn't mean I don't use Windows. Unfortunately Windows is required to work with almost all the programs I have. I guss it's the same thing with allegiance and Boxes.

There is indeed something in my heart that is only moved by the likes of Legend of Zelda and SSBM, but there is something else waiting to be moved by DOA3 and Halo!

But of course, bowel movements do feel quite good and relieving. In fact, they are necessary. Like Xbox? Is that what you were implying, KnowsNothing??

I'm still waiting for my Banjo title...
I have Halo and DOA3, but DOA3 isn't nearly as good as Soul Calibur II, and Halo just plain got lame about half-way through...And everything else is either crap or sports games...Thankfully I didn't have to pay for my Xbox, because it just wouldn't have been worth it for a platform/RPG lover like me...

I see. I am still excited about it. I will probably order MGS2: Substance (I don't have a PS2 or comp that can handle it.) and Jet Set Radio Future... I hear that's good. And MGS 2 for ps2 is awesome. Forget the story, it's just a bunch of Japanese nonsense, but the gameplay really is awesome. And... yeah. Remember, the only really worthwhile GC titles are first party, and we're not seeing too many of those really. I am expanding my horizons.

well anyway, the other day i was playing Viewtiful Joe then i thought hmmm this game IS good, but i feel like something different.. perhaps Ikaruga? then i went nah, i need something a little less hectic, so i went with Skies of Arcadia then after that i went out and pre-ordered Billy Hatcher after that some friends of mine from here were telling me all about the upcoming Resident Evil 4 and i said nah, considering i didn't play REmake or Resident Evil 0 i decided not to get it.

"Nintendo should get some random bum off the street to be their "celebrity" image. . . it'd give a hobo money, and it'd be hilarious."
Post of the year. They should talk to the people who make the Bum fights videos for a few leads.
"I have a GC and just recently (that is, next week) I purchased an Xbox. I have no allegiance(sp?), I have fun. "
here, here
" Allegiance does not mean you cant play other systems, theres just something in your heart that loves Nintendo more than any other "
I try not to love electronic components. I think they all have good and bad points.

PIAC: Ok, ok, first party, and Sega, sometimes. Billy Hatcher... no. Viewtiful Joe... yes. Skies rocked dude! Who was that made by? Never played Ikaruga. Didn't dig RE games. Just my opinion.

Fine..... I have been outsmarted once again…..
What I MEANT to say was: “The only thing waiting to be moved is……the xbox to somewhere where it can’t stink up my shelve. Like my garage. But wait, it’s too heavy to move and I don’t think it can even fit in my garage."
I'll shut up now......

i'm not offended, it's just an untrue statement, across the entire library there are alot of non first part gamecube games that are very worth while, ignorance isn't bliss in video games. i was just pointing out some great non first party games , and yes i forgot ToS, it's not out here, so i don't even consider it.

Eh? How is it so "fanboyish"? I'm not saying that I only buy first party titles... oh forget it. This is getting out of control.
Let it be known to all... I am not infallable! I have said something before I thought too hard about it. Forget it and move on.

In terms of past generations of games, I can actually say that I have more third party games than first party and second party games combined. I counted only six games out of the sixteen GC games that I have that were made by a Nintendo or Nintendo-owned developer.
I'm shocked. I feel so weak as a fanboy that it's not funny. *goes back to Viewtiful Joe*
