Post by: morphe on October 21, 2003, 01:03:16 AM
Any really good games that me and my son can play, split screen games if you know what I mean, what is the best for multiple players.

Hmmm, Ninja Turtles came out today, I definitely think you should check it out with your son!

Since he's six, I think F-Zero GX may be a bit too hard for him.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is always a blast, and if loves Nintendo characters as much as we do, then he'll have even more fun with you!

Mario Kart Double Dash!! is coming out soon, and I REALLY suggest you guys get it!

Hmmm, what else? Oh, Mario Party 5 will be tons of fun for you guys.

It's 6:36 AM, so I'm sorry I cannot recommend anymore.

Bomberman Generation or any of those Super Monkey Ball games.

Yeah, I'll second Bomerman Generation. Seriously, coin battle = multiplayer bliss.

My son was six when we bought our Gamecube.  Some of the games that he likes the best that are multiple player are:

SSBM
Bomberman Generation
Super Monkey Ball 2
Godzilla Destroy all Monsters Melee(he's a big Godzilla fan)

and more recently (he's 8 1/2 now) Soul Calibur although I think the content is a bit much for a six year old.

I have a 7-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son.  Some of our favorites are:

Super Smash Bros. (we all enjoy this one)
Mario Golf (my daughter really likes it; my son plays but doesn't really do that well)
Soul Caliber II (may be a little old for them, but they both enjoy it;  I just don't let them play certain scary/suggestive characters)
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (they both like playing it, although parts of it are too hard for them; we've really enjoyed sitting there with me playing and them giving me suggestions; I didn't play without them, so it took me 5-6 months to finish it)

Get Ikuruga.  Sure it's insanely hard but that's how games were like when we were six and we liked 'em that way, dammit.  Let him start out with a game that will put hair on his chest and make him a hardcore gamer instead of some sissy who plays Spongebob Squarepants games... with Gameshark codes.

Anyway I think Mario Kart and F-Zero are both good choices.  F-Zero may be hard in one player but I imagine the two of you will just race each other a bunch.

Viewtiful Joe!  Staying on Ian sanes theme, why not get them trained in the fine art of practice makes perfect?  Seriously, VJ is hard, but i think your son would definately enjoy it.

For multiplayer, Super monkey ball.  Mario party as well, great fun.  And maybe SSX Tricky or the just released SSX3)snowboarding).  You could have a lot of fun with it.

if you dont mind just sitting back and advising, perhaps PIKMIN would be a good game.  SPYRO, SUPER MONKEY BALL and ZELDA are other good ones.

NO,NO,NO stick with multiplayer for the young guy dont waste your money on f-zero wait for mario kart he will like it 10 times better.  Dont get Mario Party 5 get Mario Party 4 its just as good and its cheaper.  Its been said before but super smash brothers.  Heres a good one Sega Soccer slam.  My 7 year old nephew loves it he beat his dad by 1 point in overtime and he was soo happy, you might hjave to get it off the web cause its rare, i think walmart.com ahd it for 20$ at one time, but its worth it, its a fast paced multiplayer brawling soccer title, its not gory or anything its perfect.  I said before dont waste your money on hard games, here's how you do it.  Do it like davidctaylor did get a game you like (viewtiful joe, zelda, whateever you like) and play it with them then let them paly occasionaly thats how you get young kids into action games. And get a wavebird cause everykid trips on the wires of the console and throws the console to the floor, thats bad wavebird is good. So my final recommendations are SOCCER SLAM, super smash brothers, mario party4, and a wave bird thats great games and a controller for about $120 if not less

Good suggestions, but now I'm allowed to suggest Kirby Air Ride as well.

Great game, and simple controls.  You and him should both have fun playing it, and it's very addictive.

If you've got a GBA and a link cable the racing game on Rayman 3 is supposed to be fun!

Mario Kart is always gonna be a good choice!

Get "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"
It's a simple brawler that is multiplayer.

I'm sure your kid will love it.

good suggestion Mut Fox.  This game sounds similar to a double dragon game i played with my older brother all the time when i was young.
