Some of us will have a Spacer's Choice to make.
Obsidian's newest RPG will be hitting Switch in just over a month.
The Outer Worlds has been confirmed for a March 6 release date on Switch, following its October release on PlayStation 4/PC/Xbox One. The game will have a MSRP of $59.99.
Although it will be available at retail, the box will contain just a download code. The file size for the Switch version has not been disclosed.
I always think it's BS when the retail copy is just a download code. If i'm buying the retail version, it's because I want the physical copy. If I want to download it, i'll buy the digital copy.
BTW, I also think it's BS when they charge full price for the digital copy. They are saving a lot of money with the digital copy, so they should pass the savings on to us instead of just using that to make extra profit.
My bummer is now I'm in a two Switch household (me & my son each have one) and we'll likely get a third Switch system for my wife when Animal Crossing comes out.
From what I've seen, we can't transfer digital purchases. My son & I both pass around the Smash cartridge, but couldn't share the DLC characters (we bought it for his Switch, not mine).
If we get Outer Wilds, there wouldn't be a way for us to trade the cart between systems.
