Title: Official Lord of the Rings Thread

Movie or book, this trilogy is one of the best of our era.  As I was when I recently started the Dragonball thread, I'm surprised this hasn't been discussed much here at PGC (especially since the video games are unbelievable as well!), so here it is.

The first topic of discussion is how you feel about the inclusion of Jar-Jaromir in the Return of the King movie.  For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, he is a character to only be included in the movie, and was not in the book.  He is the half-brother of Boromir and Faramir, and if you're wondering why his name sounds familiar...well, this is a line should hint something:

"Yousa steala precious from meesa!"

Yep.  A spinoff of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars is now in Lord of the Rings.  The full story from BBSpot: http://www.bbspot.com/News/2003/01/jaromir.html

Personally, I'm outraged!  I loved Lord of the Rings since I picked up The Hobbit a while ago, and now I loved the movies...just, now...*sigh*

Anyways im planning on going to tempe to watch all of the lord of the rings combined in one huge event. All 3 movies in a row.... the longest movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're talking about my screenname, forget you.  But that "sucks" thing was kind of funny :-P Anyway, while you're waiting for Return of the King, I encourage you read the book; it's wonderful, and, had I not enjoyed it so much, I wouldn't have even bothered watching Fellowship.  But, even though you're clueless about LotR, just take a peek a the picture included in the site I mentioned below, and tell me...what do you think?

The thing about Jar-Jaromir is a joke.  But you knew that, right?  Please tell me you knew that.

IF something like that were to make it into ROTK it would be the worst thing to ever happen.  Period.

I can't wait for RotK. I read all 3 LotR books, and they all are excellent. Totally looking forward to the movie.

I was pretty much sure it was a joke, but ya never know...okay, you caught me.  But I'm a Lord of the Rings junky!  Don't even JOKE about something like that around me, okay?  I get all twitchy...and stuff...

It would be terrible :-)  Well, I'm still not ready to entirely rule it out.  I read an online diary of one of the members of the crew, and it metions Jar-Jaromir in there...even though it's all lies, I bet...
