Title: I like to show off (who wants to guess?)
Post by: Matrix on September 24, 2003, 09:48:17 PM
I made this sprite sheet for a sprite comic I'm working on (a wierd crossover of things). I'm quite proud of how it turned out.

Clicky here!

100 points for the person who guesses what game character his costume was based off of. Hint: It's a Gamecube game.

that wouldn't be a rendition of samus's suit would it? more specifically the gravity suit (i forget the proper name) or even the phazon suit.

does look cool, futuristic RPG anyone? or handheld PSO?

Get your mind out of Sci-Fi, and more into fantasy. And ignore the lightsaber, too; it's not part of the costume of the character.

Yes, it is.

Another hint: The character has a flapping piece of frabric that I neglected to draw.

Wow, those are really nice.  Except that green blob on his head is kind of distracting.  But that's my only complaint...Kudos!

Why isn't there a lowpoly webcomic? I mean, that wouldn't be THAT hard to pull off...

Is it Marth or Roy?  That yellow thingy in front looks familiar.

New hint: Not a Nintendo franchise.

Awesome work. I love sprites, they're so funky.
I have no idea what character's suit you based it off, either.

"someone from Soul Calibur 2?"

Yes! It's a Soul Calibur 2 character. This should be easy now...

(it's not Nightmare.)

Matrix, it's very nice looking and all, but I can't really tell what's what.  Do you think you could make some animated gifs that show the character animating the way he should be, just so that I can more properly visualize it?  I know that it's not really set up to be a game, but I thought that that's more or less what you were going for.

I think I might also mention that the largest sprite that Nintendo consoles support in hardware is a 64x64 sprite.  It's possible to go bigger of course by joining together multiple sprites, but NES games didn't really have that sort of power to work with most of the time.

THe sprite is big because I resized it. Like I said, it's for a sprite comic.

And I'm not about to animate it... Those ones took me long enough.

Heh... I just thought it would be an impressive showing.  I didn't mean to be pushy.
