hmmm, interesting. Nice find. I may have to pick up SFA now that it is in the price range that i think the title deserves. I wanted to get this game when it was released but held off. In terms of adventure games (one of my top fave genres), is it a good game and worth the now Player's Choice price tag.

I have a feeling that one will be put on PC (player's choice, not computer) near MP5's release...just my prediction.

The Animal Crossing link leads to Star Fox Adventures.  Is that one really Player's Choice?  If it is, I want to complain, seeing as how I just bought the game.

and another thing about animal crossing- if it is players choice- does that mean that it will still ship with the memory card and will it be 25 or 30 bucks??? i have yet to buy that game so it may be a good purchase

Well, actually I wouldn't be all THAT pissed, as I just got the game with a memory card from a pawn shop for $40 CAD (~$25 USD).  But yeah, I was curious if it would ship with a memory card too, and that's why I clicked on the link.

Your right, Player's Choice should be $19.99.  I'm glad to hear that Animal Crossing is going to be a PC title.  I might finally pick that one up.

as far as i'm concerned, the gamecube has no such thing as a players choice lineup. i see the stickers designating players choice games, yet the price is still $50 canadian while both the ps2 and xbox greatest hits games are $20-$30. nintendo needs to do something about this.

Cap: That's not Nintendo's fault, it's the retailers. Nintendo does drop the MSRP on players' choice titles to $20 US.

I didn't enjoy SFA that much..I borrowed it from my friend, got about 35% done. Then my lil' bro wiped out my memory card. After that, I didn't have the motivation to beat the game...to much annoyingness like having to feed Trixy (which is the dumbest thing I've ever done in a game). The action is not so great, and I didn't really like the way you switched weapons in the game. I like Zelda's style, where you pause and switch them. I guess it is all jusr preference. the game just didn't appeal to me.

BTW, how is Turok? I picked it up for $10, but only played a level through. I'm comtemplating whether or not I should spend my time playing that game. Is that multyplayer any good?

i'm not sure if thats correct. i believe that while both sony and ms put their greatest hits at a MSRP price of $20, nintendo puts their at $30. while it doesnt actually mention if it is the actual MSRP price, here is a link to an ign article regarding the original players choice titles saying they will retail for $30 US.

Nintendo has still yet to announce the new lineup, they just updated it on their site.  Im sure with the new PS2 bundle and expected pricedrops that Nintendo will probably do some wierd package deal again instead of dropping their price, but who knows, they do lots of wierd things.

I just read over at NinGC that Nintendo's Player's Choice line-up will be $19.99 from now on. It's about time!

I've actually heard that the console won't be doing any price drops, as previously reported.

As for the Player's Choice titles, does anyone know when the price change will take effect?

Usually when the new Player's Choice games are announced, they just put a sticker on top of the old boxes.  So if you hurry, you'd likely still be able to pick up a copy of AC with the memory card but with the lowered price.  Not sure what'll happen when they release the games with new cover.

What's the requirement for a player's choice title now? I seem to remember it being a million seller, but I'm assuming that's not the case this time around.

I think they just pick the most popular games. I doubt they look at sales figures or did Spiderman really sell 750,000 copies on gamecube?

About time and anyone have a link from Nintendo that they will drop their price to 19.99 on Players Choice titles?

The player's choice requirement is 450,000 shipped units. PC games are $29.99. I think that NinGC is just speculating since some 3rd party player's choice games cost $19.99.

Heh, heh, the announcement should be released soon.  Some of your speculation is close, but the most exciting part hasn't seemed to leak yet...

19.99 Player's Choice titles
99..99 Gamecube system

Wow, if the console price cut is so then there are going to be many happy cube-owners by the end of this year.

Ah... you confused me their for a moment.  I would love for Animal Crossing to be on a personal computer, although it's never going to happen... too bad that wasn't what you meant.

A EU-wide price drop to EUR50 would suffice for me. Hell, 60 is TOO MUCH!
