A Super Smash Bros. Direct will air on Thursday, November 1 at 10 am Eastern time/7 am Pacific. The video is expected to run for 40 minutes.
A Treehouse Live presentation will air following the Direct, featuring Smash alongside Pokémon Let's Go, Diablo III: Eternal Collection, and Yoshi's Crafted World.

I hope Sakurai doesn’t reveal the entire roster because I enjoy the internet meltdown whenever a new fake leak or outlandish fan theory happens. “Look at these pixels on this picture of a box taken on a 15 year old Nokia cell phone” then GameXplain uploads a 37 minute video and there’s 6000 replies in the ResetEra thread within an hour.

It'd be funny if he says what we see on Thursday is the entire roster but there's still at least one more hidden character not shown. That would certainly be one way to cause another uproar when early copies start coming out.You have no idea how much I want that to happen.

Someone on a prominent messageboard pointed out how insane it is that Nintendo is promoting a livestream with Smash, Pokemon, Yoshi, and DIABLO... and now I can't unsee it.
Last ten seconds he looks at the camera, and says "This is the last Smash Brothers game, i'm done with you ruining my fun.".
