Yea, but this game actually DESERVED the perfect score that it got!

I don't think Nintendo Power really cares about reviews.  It gives high scores to nearly everything and barely features a paragraph for even the best games.  Nintendo Power is great for a couple exclusives and game strategies, but not reviews.

Like Bloodworth said, the reviews in NP are a joke.

The magazine has actually given some surprisingly low scores to certain titles.
Eternal Darkness got a ridiculously low score and even the GBA's launch-title Super Mario Advance was given a much lower than expected score. Sure, most of Nintendo's games get perfect or near-perfect scores but that's because they deserve them. People just assume the magazine is biased because it's the official Nintendo magazine. If the magazine were exactly the same except that it wasn't by Nintendo, no one would accuse it of bias.

I've stopped caring what reviews say anymore, since I tend to like games the magazines tend to hate. But I enjoy Nintendo Power's strategy and special features, not to mention the occasional bonus (Smash Bros Melee soundtrack, anyone?)

Michael, I'm not saying some of the games don't deserve the high scores; I'm saying the reviews don't seem to be very thorough.  They explain the plot then each reviewer gets one sentence to say why they gave it the score.  And don't get me wrong, I really like alot of the magazine; the previews are really nicely put together and well thought out.
