Oh, Mario, can I have some pie?  I'm really hungry, and I haven't had pie ages.  What kind?

If you answered yes to all and aren't a girl, I would recommend a long stay in a mental hospital.

Well, this thread has been such a raving success.  Look at all the girls/women who have come out to post.

God *looks heavenward* please let this thread get deleted so we can pretend it never happened.

Oh yeah, and God *looks up again* please send lightning to strike bluekitten's computer so she may never post useless threads again.

harsh, Ms.Pikmin, but agreed.  From hence forth, none of my posts will ever resemble any of those of which i have posted today (don't quote me on this).  I will go to confession next Sunday for posting in a thread such as this.

let it be known that "general chat" isn't really a place to chat, like a chatroom.  you guys can go IM each other, and be rid of this great forum.  be gone, and forever hold your peace.

Like "Girl Kisser"  yeeeeaaaahhh, I worry if THAT wasn't a girl...
Title: RE:The females talkin place

Now who in the world would have the name "Girl Kisser"?  Besides someone who never has?
Title: RE: The females talkin place
Post by: KnowsNothing on August 04, 2003, 06:49:53 AM
I was just making a point that you could have "girl" in you name and not be a girl.

lol But yeah, the only person who would name themselves Girl Kisser is someone who never has.

looks like a name change is in order...

I miss your Invader Zim one, but I'll get over it.  Besides, this new, gigantic one is nice in an annoying, against-the-rules sort of way.

I'm not a girl, unfortunately (), but it's surprising to see how many we actually have .  Actually, honestly ignoring the guys that are pretending to be girls, this is still rather a lot.  I think.  Three or four. . . I think I'm going to go to an Xbox board and brag about how good us GC dudes are at getting chicks.

But I don't suppose I should be talking about getting chicks in this thread.  *runs*
Title: RE: The females talkin place

Bah.  I can still get the Invader Zim one back, but right now I'm looking for a good Xenogears one.  Not that I can EVER beat Grey Ninja's...his MOVED.

Grey, what's yours now?  Still Silent Hill?
Title: RE: The females talkin place
Post by: Grey Ninja on August 07, 2003, 01:50:10 PM
Heh.  You can use my old Xenogears one if you like.  It's still there... somewhere.  I doubt I will be using it again anytime soon.

My current avatar and sig are 100% Silent Hill 2.
Title: RE: The females talkin place
Post by: KnowsNothing on August 07, 2003, 02:10:46 PM
Thanks but no thanks Grey.

I would make my own animated one, but that GIF animator puts the word UNREGISTERED at the top of all my creations (bad creations).

I'll get one someday, but for now I'll either keep this one or put the Zim one back on for a while.

EDIT:  well, I got my new avatar.  It's Elly!!  (I forgot her full name already).  this is also a temporary untill I get a better one, but for now...good or blechy?

PS this is not the one I made on MS paint just in case PIAC or Mouse-clicker is wondering.  I only edited on Paint for this one. The resolution's not so good, but I don't know how to fix it.

stupid server...can't even edit my own messages without waiting a half hour.  and I'm on broadband...

oh well, I got this FF8 one I have up now.... I think I'll keep this, I didn't really like the Elly one anyway.  I really wanted one of her in the cutscene where she points the gun at fei in the forest, close to the beginning of the game.  That first picture you see her pointing the gun at you is perfect.  It's on the back on the xenogears box, i think...

Oh well, Grey, you can go ahead and have an Elly one now.  I understand it wouldn't be for a while seeing as you just put up a new silent hill one, but, whatever.  as I said before, I didn't really like my Elly one.
Title: RE: The females talkin place
Post by: Grey Ninja on August 08, 2003, 07:56:43 PM
I can get you that one if you wish.

I was personally going to use an animated one of Elly raising her head in the scene where she remembers her training days.
Title: RE: The females talkin place
Post by: KnowsNothing on August 09, 2003, 05:30:45 AM
I don't want the avatar, but I do want answers.  How would you be able to get picture for me?  I can't find it anywhere on the internet, and if you somehow....I don't know....

If I could get screens straight from games to my PC, I'll have a brand new hobby of making avatars and wallpapers, even if I never use any of them.  So?
Title: RE: The females talkin place
Post by: Grey Ninja on August 09, 2003, 07:15:42 AM
Well, I would pop in Xenogears Disc 1, and I would use PSXMC or PSMPlay to analyze the disc, and find all the .str files that Monolith was nice enough to hide quite deeply in a mass of code.  I would then find the movie that you had commented on, and extract the frames that looked the best to me.

Answer your question good enough?

Just find one who will tolerate videogames.  Believe me, hardcore girl gamers are few and far between.  Sometimes I can get mine to play some with me, but that too is also very rare.  Mainly just for Mario Party or Mario Tennis.

Man, I don't want a HARDCORE grrl gamer. Like Bill said, just one who can tolerate them, and give me a nice little prize when i let them win at Mario Kart

Anyway, i kind of know a Nintendo fangirl, she has a GBA SP! I should ask her about it, shes f'ing gorgeous too... i should REALLY ask her about it.

Xbox fangirl?
Who the hell cares?
As long as she like games! Ask her out!

One of my sister's friends likes Nintendo. We had a lengthy Perfect Dark multiplayer session.
But therein lies my problem. She's my sister's friend. And that was last year

That is really lame.  You guys complain that you want girls who will play games but then you say something like this.  I really hate it when you guys say things that insinuate that all girls want to play is Animal Crossing or Mario games.  Why not just break out Mary Kate and Ashley or freakin' Britney's Dance Beat?  I know I am taking a small comment way too seriously, but it just seems like more of the same bs with guys wanting girls to fit into some narrow definition of what they want a girl to be.   You don't want a hardcore gamer really, just some chick who'll play the easier games.  That sucks.

EDIT: Oh yeah, who's to say SHE wouldn't kick YOUR @ss at mario Kart?
Title: RE: The females talkin place
Post by: Grey Ninja on August 11, 2003, 09:06:43 AM
Ms. Pikmin, I heartily agree with you.  I personally find it a great turn on when I get my butt handed to me in one of my favorite games by a girl.

I remember once I was in the University Arcade, and this blonde came in, and started playing Area 51.  I kind of inconspicuously watched her play for a while, and I found that she was easily as good at the game as myself.  I really wanted to go talk to her, but that has never been my strong suit.  In the end, she died, and left the arcade.  But the memory of that will last me a lifetime.

The funny thing is Ms. Pikmin is that whenever the girls I know talk about games, it always is focused around Mario games, esp. Golf, Tennis, and Kart.  I wish all gamers were like girl gamers in that they don't really care for nitty-gritty games.  Bright, flashy, and fun games are what catches their eye, and I admire girl gamers for that reason.  ^_^
Title: RE:The females talkin place
Post by: Hostile Creation on August 11, 2003, 04:33:00 PM
To this date, I have not met a girl that could beat me at a game (though my sister has gotten lucky on occassion).  But could just be because I never play games with girls.  And when I say that they can't beat me, I mean that if I didn't let them win they couldn't beat me.  Not to say they aren't out there; it'd be nice to have a challenge like that.  I just haven't had the opportunity as of yet.

Whoever asked the question. . . I think it was blue kitten or someone. . . most girls that seem to be gamers often range.  They vary from prep to tom-boy, so it's hard to say.  Sometimes they manage to be both at once.  I just wish I could meet some, either way.

Sorry for such a vague answer, but it's hard to classify girl gamers since I know so few of them.

The only girl I've ever played a game with is my sister, and I have a lot of experience over here (even though she's almost 4 years older). She did wiz through Kingdom Hearts, though, and I'm still having some trouble.

I've noticed that- with guys it's pretty easy to spot a gamer, but girl gamers aren't so easy. Maybe it's just because we're a bunch of losers with no girlfriends, though.

Definately not tom-boyish, some girls just think xbox is cool, and it plays DVD's too which adds to its coolness. Same with GBA SP, its cool. I dont know any that own a cube though... :\

It seems in general, though, that more girls prefer GC.  I imagine there are a fair few "hardcore" gamer girls that have GC, and it seems to me that for all the girls that would play casually, GC would be the perfect console.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to have to start sharing the Truth with some girls around here.

It's funny you would say that, because I was thinking the same thing.  I think it's just very Tim Burton-esque.  We are big fans of that film.  My husband and I were living in San Francisco when it came out and got to see it opening day when a bunch of people who worked on it were there.  It was fun because they were all so enthusiastic and cheering during the parts they worked on and were clapping like crazy through the credits.

So, how's that for helping the topic to go astray?

I loved Burton's Batman films, too- they were very atmospheric and moody in my opinion, which suits Batman very well (if you want to see an excellent example of this, watch the extraordinarily good animated Batman series).

And I guess we can't really get off topic in this thread since there was never much of a topic to begin with.

His Batman films were the best of the series in my opinion.  Michael Keaton surprisingly was the best Batman.  I like Val Kilmer but i thought he wasn't very good in that role.  I think George Clooney just stunk.  He seems to be the type of actor that can pretty much act one way and that's it.

Some of my favorite films of his are Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Mars Attacks, Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood.  You could definitely say I'm a fan.  I think he's just brilliant.

Batman and Batman Returns are definitely the best in the series- Batman Forever was mediocre and Batman and Robin was downright nasty. It's similar to the Alien movies- first two are great, the third is not so good, and the fourth sucks.

A lot of people came down on Mars Attacks, but I loved it. The guy who does all the voices for the aliens (Frank Welker) did the voice of Freddy on Scooby Doo, as well. He's also the voice of Nibbler on Futurama, too. I bet nobody here knew that.

Heh, never really thought of that, but I can see the resemblance.  It's two characters from a comic book series, "Sandman", which I recommend very strongly.  Even those of you that don't like comic books (I'm not too fond of them myself) might like it.  The writer is Neil Gaiman (may have heard of him. . . writes books, comic books, and did the translation for Princess Mononoke), who, like Tim Burton, is very dark and moody.

The two characters and Dream, the guy on the right and the main character in the comic, and the other is Death, one of his sisters.  The series is basically about Dream (or Morpheus) and his life.  I can't explain it very well, but if you're even remotely interested, I strongly suggest it.  It's got a good deal of mature content, though.  Still, very good.

Neil Gaiman did a great forward about dreams for a collection of H. P. Lovecraft's Dreamquest short stories. Great anthology with a lot of great stories (of course, I like all of Lovecraft's work ). I knew he did Sandman, which I've heard is great, and he's won a ton of awards. Can you recommend somewhere I could get Sandman?

Anyway, speaking of dark and moody, that's Lovecraft for you right there. The man's writing creates such startling images I find myself engrossed in his work more than anyone else's save for Tolkien and Frank Herbert.

I know they have them in the comic section of our Barnes & Noble, so if you have one of those near you, it should be there.  The only one I ever bought came off of Amazon.com.  Also, any comic shops should also have them.  The first one is called Preludes and Nocturnes.

I've never read Lovecraft.  Perhaps I should take a look.

There used to be a great comic store in my small town, where I used to buy all my Flash and Green Lantern comics, but they went out of business. I'll try out Barnes & Noble, though, thanks.

You've NEVRE read Lovecraft? If you've played Eternal Darkness, that takes an incredible amount of source material from Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos. You can pick up a number of anthologies for very low prices- VERY good writer.

Avatar's have a way of doing that, though- I kind of picture Grey Ninja as that SH3 avatar he has (no offense intended, Ninja, it's just the first thing I remember about you ). I pictured Rick as looking like Triple H for a while- I knew he didn't actually look like Triple H, but up until recently that was all I had to go on. I don't even know what >X< Kitten >X< looks like.

I myself have pretty long hair- all around it's a little longer than my shoulders. I've also been labeled a hippy by quite a few people. I also don't get a lot of sleep, don't eat much breakfast (if at all), and have to walk to school every morning, so a lot of people think I'm a stoner (which I'm not) because I'm spaced out.

Ha!  I call my brother a hippie becuase he has long hair and wears sandals.

Yes. . . avatars have a way of influencing you like that. . . even if I see someone's picture I'll still imagine them as looking like their current avatar.

I'm tall, have blond, longish hair (not as long as m_c's, though), and I act extremely weird all the time.  So people think I'm usually high, though such is not the case with me, either.  Acting odd is just fun.

KnowsNothing, you posted my profile! You bastard! Oh by the way, don't mind my real name. It's pronounced in French (yes I speak French, live in a Frech home, and go to a French school ). But I totally hate my name so I'm going to change it when I'll be able to.

Anyway, moving on. I see we're heading towards talking about our physical appearances and personalities now. Very nice. To be honest, I have a split-personality that no one understands. Some days, I'm Evil as hell and it's impossible to talk to me. Other days, I'm a huge party animal who acts crazy and odd. Anyone else like that?

As for style/appearance...Well I'm 5'5" and I weight 115 pounds (I'm heavy boned-though. I looe like I'm not even 100 pounds) I have medium-length dark brown hair with what use to be pink streaks. I'm also very rock n' roll glamish. I like make-up, sparkles, and fake nails!Tee-Hee!
Now, do you want to know my breast size now? HaHa!!!

Hahaha, yes.

Nah, I'm just kidding- that might not sit well with the admins.

French stuff is weird- I've taken 2 years of French in high school (well, I'm in my second year), and although I had a 100% in the class last year, it's pretty confusing. I don't see why the French even HAVE irregular verbs, if only to screw up people trying to learn it. O_O

I'm of French Canadian decent, im not from there, but I have it in my blood. I'm half French-Canadian and half Italian.

I'm almost 6' in height, weigh 140 lbs, brown hair (sometimes blue), glasses (I want contacts ), braces, size 13 shoe..thats about all I'm willing to give. AIM me..you might get to know more about me

Yes, yes I do want to know your breast size, >X< Kitten >X<.

And that was a joke.  Really.  It was.

I used to do really, really good falls, and quite often, about three or four years back.  More recently, I try subtler methods of weirdness (though I like to do variety, and I still fall on occassion).  Today I carried around a stuffed carrot, which I'm sure is the happiest carrot in the world.  I grin every time I look at it's face (might post a pic of it sometime). . . geez, that is one happy carrot. . .

I'm about six feet, or 6'1'', to be specific.  Usually I don't feel that tall, but sometimes I look around and realize how small everything seems from up here.  It's weird. . .

I don't know how this thread keeps escaping me.  Maybe it's the lame title and the fact that it was created by someone who was just as lame.  Anyways, I think this thread has turned into a much more pleasing form of disturbing.

It seems like I am known as a chick around here by most people.  Some think I am Heather, and others think I am Laura.  Well.... could be worse I suppose.  At least I am a good looking chick.  I might be reinstating Heather soon though, so keep your eyes peeled.  Clock Day is over after all.    KnowsNothing, I would really like to know exactly how you caught a virus from my avatar though.  That just seems like talent to me... unless it was the "virus" that I wrote a while back.

Kitten, I think a lot of the geeks around here are probably bipolar.  I know that I have fits of rage that are very uncontrollable, and I would be willing to bet that this is a symptom common among a good 60% of the population here.
Title: RE: The females talkin place
Post by: KnowsNothing on August 20, 2003, 02:37:48 PM
Well, it wasn't your fault really, Grey Ninja.

What happened was you mentioned your avatar was from xenogears, and you kept saying how good the game was and stuff.  It was really you who inspired me to get the game.  So i got the game and really liked it so I wanted an avatar from it.  You offered your old one to me, but i declined, i wanted my own.  so I aked you how you made yours...PSMplay of course!  I downloaded it, and as you have heard many times before, nothing I download I can get to work.  So I downloaded what I THOUGT I needed to make it work, which apparently had a virus in it that was discovered the day I downloaded.

It wasn't the thing you said to download, mind you, it was something else.  I should never try to fix a problem myself.

I don't think I have a split personality, so I part of the minority here.

EDIT:  I was reading thu the first few pages of this very thread, and on page 2 or 3 was part of the conversation I mention earlier.
