Anyone up for a nightly or weekly meetup for livestream and chat? Jeer and laugh while I play some DKC?

It sounds interesting but I've always been a gal that would rather play a game than watch it (with some exceptions) so I'm not sure how much I'd tune in. What I always liked about the DKC games was that you could have a 2 player competition. One player would get to play and then the other player got a chance to play and the game alternated back and forth allowing you to compete to see who could beat the game first. Thus, I'd throw out the idea of also playing and competing against you at the same time as you play to give the experience a bit more intrigue to those watching.

Of course, I'd have to actually learn how Twitch works and how to set-up streaming (and buy the equipment) so the competition idea is all theoretical but it is something I've been thinking about doing. I was looking into buying recording equipment last year as I finished Super Mario 3D World and was playing Champion's Road to show my process of beating that level with no power-ups. Yet, I've still had it in my mind to possibly buy that recording equipment as I'd like to record game footage for some other ideas I've had in my mind. So, pushing me over the edge to actually do this is not quite as pie-in-the-sky as it may initially seem at first glance but there definitely some hurdles/obstacles to overcome so it would take a bit of time.

It's so easy that even I, a dumb-dumb, could do it; just had to install OBS and get a twitch account. With a little bit of tinkering I bet we could splitscreen a race. If you don't mind playing off an e -- lator, then there's no equipment at all.

We could always do our own "retro active" style event where we all play together and then talk about our experiences in a thread or throw together a podcast of our thoughts.

Hope you're hungy for DONK!

I've been upping my DKC2 game lately (well, the last 23 years really) and figured out how to add a stopwatch to my stream, learned all the developer warps and the Castle Crush and Krockhead Klamber skips, though the latter is iffy.

Before, I was up against a wall: 90 minutes, even with practice. Last night after all dev warps: 1:19:32. Today I cut it by 6.5 minutes and would have done even better if it weren't for multiple, moronic deaths. My new PB is 1:13:02, which, if I were to submit my run somehow, would put me at 136th place WORLDWIDE :reggie: http://dkcspeedruns.com/Leaderboards (http://dkcspeedruns.com/Leaderboards)

Wow! Congrats. I am nowhere that fast in DKC2. Is that just based on you getting to and defeating K. Rool in the airship or is that getting all the coins to beat the Lost World as well?

My first sub-1hr run demolished by multiple K Rool fails.

Tried again tonight and got 1:06:42.79. And that's after mucking around for ~5min trying to get Bramble Scramble warp to work. Not dying 2x at the end of K Rool somehow grabbed that extra 32s.

Well my Donks and Donkettes, the Summer of Donk is officially over. I have ascended the summit with a no-death, 4-wrong warp first-try-each, sub-1hr personal best, a record which will never be beaten or matched: 57:00.04!

ty ty. That would be DKC1 though, which has a series of glitches that skip you right to the end in only 8min. I've heard legends told from other streamers about speedrunners so powerful and so wise that they can actually glitch/skip their way into fighting the bosses in reverse order.
