Title: NBA Playgrounds
Post by: sudoshuff on May 03, 2017, 06:30:11 PM
Umm...is it weird that NBA Playgrounds might be the second game I buy for the switch? It just seems like the perfect follow-up to the vast adventure I've had in Breath of the Wild. Anyone else going for it? Also, does anyone know when reviews will be out?

I watched some video. No thanks. I still hate the art style, and more importantly, I don't even know what's going on. 3-points on a dunk then a 4-point shot. But why though?
Can we just have NBA Jam? Why is this difficult?

This is rough looking.
This a little better looking trailer for the game:

I really don't like the character models, but I like arcade-style sports games. Color me interested.

That's not weird at all! When I finally cave in and buy a Switch the first game I'll get for it will be Disgaea 5, and Bomberman R will be right behind it. What's Mario Kart anyway?
Liking the look of this NBA game, it's a shame arcade style sports games have largely died out it seems. I still have NBA 2k13 largely untouched, but honestly this pick up & play style suits me better than those endless simulations.

I like this game. I'm throwing a tournament today.

That's good! Reviews were not particularly kind (http://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/nba-playgrounds).
That said, I'm still pretty interested, but I'll need to see how I can take advantage of multiplayer.

The devs seems to be planning something big to make up for the delay to online for Switch owners. (http://nintendoeverything.com/nba-playgrounds-dev-planning-something-big-for-switch-players/)

Tournament went well with this game. I had to put on the Joy Con straps for the first time. Now I'm definitely going to use these every time I use them every single time.
Multiplayer NBA Playgrounds is awesome in large crowds...especially during tight games.
